Your white hat is too tight... Oil/gas isn't going anywhere as long as anyone alive today is still on this planet. Don't worry, there will be gas to fill your ICE vehicle in 10 years. Not much of an argument saying it's a liberal thing why auto manufacturers are going EV. GM is targeting 2035 to be 100% EV. They sell ~63k vehicles in Canada of the ~2.7m they produce annually so highly doubtful they're doing this because of liberals. Every other manufacturer is going to be fully EV sometime in the 2030's. Don't worry, enough gas will around for your ICE and cross burning parties.2 points

Trump and his staff knew about this tax long ago. This is just another Trump negotiation tactic to show his brood he is King LOL I think ya'll need to know what the digital tax really is.. It is not a Canadian company income tax, they pay that too. The digital services tax applies at a rate of 3% on revenue earned from: Certain digital services that rely on engagement, data, and content contributions of Canadian users Certain sales or licensing of Canadian user data Canadian digital services revenue is calculated on a calendar year basis and is earned from: Online marketplace services Online advertising services Social media services Certain sales of user data https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/excise-taxes-duties-and-levies/digital-services-tax/about-tax.html https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/D-1.65/2 points

The problem is global and is eliciting a global response. Many countries have noticed that foreign high tech firms have used the internet to make huge profits from ads etc. while paying little to no tax locally because of tax residence jiggery-pokery, quite unlike the local media businesses they have wiped out. Digital services taxes are simply a rational way to make everyone pay their fair share. To say that the cost of the tax will be passed onto the consumer and should therefore be abandoned is weak beer indeed. That could be claimed of any corporate tax and is hardly a serious argument for giving up on taxing companies. The high tech billionaires have pressured Trump to pressure us to give up on this. They may succeed in Canada but not elsewhere over the longer term. Voters can see what is happening and they simply won’t put up with it no matter what the tax accountants say.1 point

The cult is mind numbing, truly f*cking mind numbing.... Their cult leader is 79 years old, out of shape, poor eating habits, and leads a sedentary lifestyle. Only a matter of time before he expires... Hopefully the cult following expires with him.1 point

Thing is, MAGA is CULT to a T(rump). But since MAGA doesn't know the characteristics of CULTS, they believe they can just slap the name on ANYTHING, and completely miss how that makes them LOOK THE FOOL. Which is one of the characteristics of CULT members. IF Democrats were in a cult, they never would have abandoned their leader for his VP.1 point

Play show and tell all day long if you'd like. I told you the extent of my knowledge of guns, which is probably average but probably more than most given most people don't own a gun or have shot one for that matter. Wasn't aware you have to be a firearms expert to support gun laws... or is that just a "left" thing? If you're good with the commonplace mass killings in the US from assault weapons that's on you.1 point

The royal patronage is the equivalent of government subsidies today amd happens in every culture. The thing about supporting the arts is that government is not meant to pick and choose specific pieces or styles of art, they’re meant fund “the arts” broadly and generally with rhe goal of creating a vibrant arts scene, nothing more. Vibrant art scenes almost by definition are going to result in some controversial or unconventional art.1 point

Well right now there are 8 countries already spending north of 3 % and only one country right now not spending 2 %...I think what NATO is doing is looking at the current state of NATO's armys and most of NATO has cashed in peace bonds pretty hard...take germany for example, used to have 2500 main battle tanks, not that long ago.... today has less than 296 and has plans to double that number...you can do that with every NATO member including the US... 5% is the number NATO figures to get NATO back in line . i highly doubt this is going to be the long term number...NATO intel has said Russia will have recouped it's numbers within 5 years, and is already boasting numbers along NATO border countries... I think we miss a huge point here...Europe is preparing for war right now...and are panic mode, low troop and equipment numbers, combined with the US threatening to not come to their aid, and withdrawals of US troop levels across europe has them second guess their abilities....not to mention US has dumped Ukraine support and europe has picked up that ball...A lot of european countries are talking about bring back mandatory serve to bring troops numbers back up..recalling those members that just retired....mean while here in Canada , We have signed onto a new Europe defence pact making more military taskings.......And our military strength is a joke right now...it will take decades to fix our military issues...even at 3.5 %, with creative accounting making up the other 1.5 %....1 point

I would posit that it would be increasingly difficult to counter fantasy laden drivel with factual reports. TDS is a mental disorder that starts with intense hatred. The hatred clouds judgement. People don't like to be bigotted without reason, so they look for faults they can cling to to justify their hatred. The loss of judgement combined with hatred and the need to find faults forces those that are infected to believe demonstrably disproven claims, without fail, and repeat such claims like a homeless guy arguing with a light pole. Yes, it is time consuming and monotonous to repeatedly remind those with TDS why they are hate-filled, biggot a-holes. So we just say TDS and move on. There is no point in discussing the TDS because they are delusional.1 point

We can't count the $$ in Canada because everything the federal government does is top secret. We aren't allowed to know what things cost or the reasons why budgets keep going up and timelines keep going back. Why did that stupid pipeline cost so much? TOP SECRET! Why are we paying such enormous prices for unarmed support ships? TOP SECRET! Why are we spending so much on those Irving ships when the British are building them for a fraction of the price we're paying? TOP SECRET! The only certainty we have is that whatever they do will cost a lot more than they say it will and take a lot longer than they say it will. I'd love to do a deep, forensic accounting dive at Iriving industries to find out where all the money is going. I have a feeling the Irvings have a money bin hidden somewhere in Nova Scotia that they like to party in and do their own deep dives into piles of taxpayer cash.1 point

Walmart would pay the same tax as any business within Canada pays. Businesses pay taxes based on their profits. That is totally different that a DST tax on a foreign company operating on the internet. A digital service tax on Amazon will be passed on to customers. It is another excuse for the Liberal government to collect more taxes. People that purchase something on Amazon already pay GST and will now have another price increase to pay for the DST.1 point

I went thru half of the video, and i had to leave. What a bunch of sick and insane leftist leaning lieberal nut cases. A mental institution is where they should be yelling and crying instead because that is where they belong. How can anyone think that by talking to a tree is going to do anything to help any trees? This is what lieberalism has done to many dumb downed imbeciles in our society. Lieberalism has driven them into absolute insanity. The USA cannot help to save the world. It is the leaders of those 3rd world countries that are at fault here, and not Americas fault. North America is starting to look and become another 3rd world country right now. If we do not stop the flow of the millions of illegal 3rd world immigrants and refugees from coming to North America, then we will have signed our own white death warrant and we are continuing to commit racial white suicide and genocide. This is a fact of life and is no joke. To be bringing in dozens of different cultures, languages, religions and traditions by the millions every year, whom are not compatible to our western way of life and culture, is committing racial suicide. If one wants to ignore the facts and reality, then it is their children and grandchildren that will pay the price for their ignorance and who gives a crap attitude. This has nothing to do with racism, but the instinct for our white survival. Just my personal opinion. 😇1 point

Actually that is not quite correct herbie. It is a tax on multinational companies based in America and probably mostly owned by Americans. But really what is happening is these companies like Amazon, Google, etc. will just pass this tax on to their Canadian customers. So it is really just another tax on Canadians hidden by the way it is using these companies to collect it for them. Do you really think these companies will absorb this tax themselves and not pass it on? This is just another hidden tax on Canadians. They are using these companies to collect it from Canadians. So Trump is doing us a favour if he can get rid of it.1 point

No sovereign government can allow a foreign president to dictate our domestic tax policy according to his own ideology. Trump’s claims are ridiculous the digital services tax applies to Canadian and non-Canadian businesses alike so this not about trade fairness and not “an attack on USA” as the orange id1ot declared The MAGAs simply want to impose their ideology and remake us in their image and Trump wants to serve his tech bro clients And this is yet another nail in the coffin for the claim that Trump prefers Liberals because it’s easier to get his way with them. As he has said many times in the past, he again complained that the Liberals are “very difficult” negotiators. What do you think PP would have done? TBH this is better than some kind of settlement where we have to at least symbolically bend the knee to the mad king and everyone gets accustomed to being a US vassal state just with terms slightly worse than before. Let’s keep diversifying away from USA and get building the stronger better Canada of the future1 point

Tnat is an absolute lie. His first budget was delivered on time about 3 months after he was elected. "Stephen Harper was sworn in as Canada's 22nd Prime Minister on February 6, 2006," "The Canadian federal budget for 2006, presented by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty on May 2, 2006, focused on tax reductions, spending in core federal areas, and debt paydown. Key highlights included a one-percentage-point reduction in the Goods and Services Tax (GST), income tax cuts, and a $1,200 per-child childcare payment (Universal Child Care Benefit). The budget also addressed immigration, affordable housing, and Aboriginal communities. " Once again you have to lie in order to try and make a point. I mean this information is easily looked up, you had to know that what you were saying was false. And yet you're going to sit around and whine when everybody calls you a liar and pretend like you don't know why. Here you go folks, another example of the "ever honest" Ex-flyer1 point

I just don't care about it. I haven't even bothered to read about it. It's possible that he remembered incorrectly, or got the name of a different AC/DC song wrong, or maybe it's just a song that they played in the lockerroom with a different hockey team that had some of his old teammates on it. I don't really know what it's about and I don't care about what he remembers about music from 40 years ago. I do care that Carney knowingly lies directly to all Canadians about consequential things that he did in Dec 2024. I can't say whether or not you are an actual member of the LPOC party, and you'd never be honest about it if you were, so it's a moot point. I just said that you're a cultist, which you plainly are. The way that you shout down the truth and pretend that it doesn't matter isn't a sign of a healthy, functioning mind. You're clearly not a rational, capable adult whose main goal here is seeing Canada elect the best leader possible. It's possible that, like robo, your master is the ayatollah or some other foreign adversary, and you're just here to advocate for whatever's worst for Canada. It's quite a common thing nowadays. I can't say for sure what enemy of Canada you serve, but you serve them blindly. As is Trump.1 point

lol.... There's no lies coming from him that are of any consequence one way or another, except to those who wanted PP. Budget will come when he knows what the landscape is after getting the tariff agreement is done. Hard to give fiscal guidance when you don't know the immediate future. A large number of companies in Corporate America have done the same thing and pulled their earning guidance because they don't know what's going on with the sh*t show known as Trump. No big deal. Until then it doesn't affect our credit rating or affect the credibility of why Carney got elected. Gives the opposition something to chirp is about it....1 point

There is a lot Carney can do to spend money here in Canada, if he does it wisely, we could order new LAV 6 mk2 built in ontario with a whole slew of add ons and capabilities....it's a win win....once into the european markets, we could purchase systems and have them built here in Canada...just European orders for arms have locked up most manufactures up for at least 5 years, with long delivery times....and this is only going to get worse as more orders come in...take the Leopard II there are only 2 places that produce new hulls, for thousands of already built tanks and for all the new orders...it would be a win win for Canada replacing some of our lost auto sector jobs... We should also be looking cutting back on our new Irving frigates, and looking at say south Korea, of Japan, to build destroyers or cruisers for half the price and 10 times the capability....Same as subs...Use Canadian ship building to build more naval support ships, that we don't have right now, like under sea infrastructure protection or repair ships, deep diving / research ships, or sub rescue ships...or more armed icebreakers. or armed coast guard cutters...1 point
