In other words it's about personal responsibility. You are responsible for your actions and have a duty to make your own life as much as it's possible for you to do so, and THEN people will help after that. But if you fail in your duty to do what you can then there's no sympathy. You can apply for asylum, but if you have no grounds (evidence) for it they don't even have to hear your claim. This was already done to many people. Many people had no due process, but even if there is a due process begun in the future, there is no right to send people to a torture and death chamber.
