I've seen a few rumours on FB today that Carney has already decided to step down due to his litany of conflicts of interest. Even the CBC's Rosemary Barton couldn't ignore it, and she's a shoo-in for a Liberal senate seat the day she retires. "[As someone] who spent most of his life in the private sector, there's no possible conflict of interest in your assets?" Barton asked. "That's very difficult to believe." For someone like Barton, whose entire career stems her shameless hagiography of liberal candidates, that about-face makes Brute's back-stabbing look like a vote of confidence. I don't think it will make much of a difference to this election, the CBC will just pimp the next LPOC candidate that much harder. If he is really dropping out, I think it has more to do with his ability to keep his head above water in a debate than any conflicts of interest that he has... I think one can convey unaffordability without referring to women's reproductive abilities. If incomes had kept up with the price of real estate things might not be so dire. I will say that the Liberal government help in daycare has actually made having a child more affordable. It's a small step but a helpful one.

Interpretation is ALWAYS open to further discussion. Facts DO NOT point to the same conclusions for everyone, and in fact the most common interpretation of the facts in science have very often proven to be wrong later. I suspect it was basically "I can give you what you want if you reduce the pressure a little and make me look good during the election. after i win we can sort out the details. The election it's going to make a big difference in Canada's future for quite some time. Elections matter and this one is going to matter a great deal. Hopefully carney won't win. I myself still have trouble believing the polls are 100% accurate the way that they're presented and believe a Poilievre majority is still completely possible. But when you look at everything that's just happened in week one and remember that we've got four more to go with tariffs supposedly starting next week but who knows and trump is the wild card, there is just no way to predict how this is going to end
