  1. The hatred that the online MAGA crowd have for California (in the face of the devastating LA fires) is palpable. Gleefully watching the destruction, they are reveling in the suffering. Their POV: punish the “evil liberals.” Posts made on MAGA forums in the wake of the California wildfires: “I hope the whole f*cking shithole burns down. Literally would not p*ss on it to put the fire out.” “The Christian thing to do is to bathe in God’s wrath playing out and pay [sic] their [sic] they will no longer be satanic pedophiles. Not this f*ggot shit.” “I'm done with these commie b*stards. I have nothing but contempt for them. The enemies of Christ deserve what's happening.” “F*ck em. They're communists, not Americans.” “I actually feel good, I don't really care. I hope the rich people in the foothills around Denver have their houses burn next. Minneapolis and Chicago can burn too. They're not my country they're at best occupiers when their side is in power and I don't mind nature's wrath coming down on them. The northeast can be wiped out by a tsunami. Not my country, not a place I care about, they're actively trying to destroy my way of life, good riddance.” How did we get here? The hatred also seems to be a reaction based on misinformation. Trump himself spread a lot of it. Other MAGA quotes: “They celebrated Helene wiping out thousands of Trump supporters off the map. They (Democrats) are evil.” [The truth: around 250 people died in Hurricane Helene] “Me either. These people didn't do anything but mock the people in WNC when an unprecedented flood wiped out whole towns. We didn't get a visit from Joe. [The truth: Biden visited Western North Carolina shortly after the storm] They still have not disbursed the 1.75 million dollars of emergency funding that is supposed to help people with housing, emergency shelter and supporting the businesses that flooded to their rooftops. [The truth: FEMA has distributed $32 million to NC and was going door to door to connect people with financial assistance] (You can read more about this on The MAGA Report, by Jen Golbeck, available on Substack.) How can this hatred be dissolved? How does Trump contribute to it?

  2. That radical liberal, Thomas Jefferson, was deeply concerned about wealth inequality, the creation of a new aristocracy and the threat that would pose to the stability of the nation. His deeply un-American, commie proposal? Progressive taxation. "another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property in geometrical progression as they rise.” -Thomas Jefferson, 1785

  4. I would say that the above is not true. Furthermore, I think the online adoration of Luigi Mangione (the CEO shooter) is a very different animal than what we see in MAGA. Most of the online reaction has focused on his looks. He’s been dubbed the “hot assassin.” Even Ted Bundy developed a cult following. Professor Tanya Horeck, an expert on digital culture and true crime from Anglia Ruskin University, says that the internet has caused "a blurring of the lines between celebrity and criminality” and that when people see a good-looking person pop into their feeds, their first thought is lust, not moral criticism. Also - this kind of online worship of violence is often seen on the right. If you go down the alt-right rabbit hole, you’ll find that on right-wing sites like 4chan and 8chan mass shootings are met with glee. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp8nk75vg81o I couldn’t find any evidence that those posting in favour of Mangione were either right or left-wing. The major motivation seems to be a hatred of the rich. For example, the hashtag #EatThe Rich soon went viral after the shooting. Clearly, some people are pissed off at corporate elites in general. But – aren’t right-wing people more likely to be anti-elite? The reality of American politics today is that the Republicans are the “populists” and the Democrats “the elitists.” That’s part of the reason they rejected Harris. I think, too, that an important distinction needs to be made here between the messages coming “from the top.” Democrat leaders do not embrace, glorify and endorse hatred and violence the way that Trump does. Josh Shapiro, the Democrat governor of Pennsylvania, where Mangione was arrested, said, "We do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint.” Compare that to Trump regularly calling for the execution of his political opponents. With a leader like that, it is not surprising that the research shows that online posts by the political right include higher levels of hate speech, threat, obscenity, name-calling, stereotyping, and negative prejudice, than do posts from the political left: In this study, we investigated the question of whether online prejudice is symmetrical or asymmetrical on the political left and right in the U.S. in a very large sample of social media messages. We observed that Twitter messages mentioning targets perceived as liberal or left-leaning (such as Black Americans and feminists) included higher levels of hate speech, threat, obscenity, name-calling, stereotyping, and negative prejudice, compared to Twitter messages mentioning targets perceived as conservative or right-leaning (such as conservatives and Christians). https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10724124/

  5. the Democrats Woke Identitarian ideology has destroyed the state capacity of California so when the predictable crisis came, the infrastructure had collapsed in the face of it and the state is so broken that it can't actually fix anything anymore it's the same thing the Trudeau Liberals did to Canada Karmageddon

  7. An astounding, unprecedented irresponsibility by the political elites, on both sides and the decision of a significant part of the population to stop being responsible citizens of a modern democracy and relegate themselves to the role and status of dumb pueblo contributed to the history's first, unprecedented in entire 228 year span event. As of now, it is a precedent written in the books and open to follow and extend. It also means effectively, the end of the foundation of the American justice: one law for everybody, as the felon is fully expected to go free of any penalty. Again, the precedent is wide open. Any mob boss, criminal prophet or guru elected by the pueblo living in the fairy tale world will fully expect the same outcome for any previous deeds. Nothing to be added to the fact: yes they could. Yes they did. Stupidity and irresponsibility is an undeniable right of the pueblo. And it comes with unavoidable consequences that no lying tongue can cancel. No revelations and zero surprises in this age where memory is at the fingertips of anybody who wants to remember and think for themselves. These unprecedented developments effectively end the period of the first U.S. constitutional democracy 1789 - 2025. The rules of the future are wide open and will have to be rewritten anew. No guarantees of anything. From here, any future is possible.

  9. 40k years ago a homo sapien Eve gave birth to children who would rule the earth. the Cognitive Revolution. mankind was able to associate in much larger numbers by identifying with a story. the story of the leader who caught lightning. a god. a fabricated belief system. religion/ideology. only in the last 1k years have humans discovered the ability to create a new story. one that is compared to the natural world. science. a new belief system. and a methodology that is self correcting in real time. but the old reason methods of humans identifying with each other will die hard. it must be so frustrating to actually try and debate using the very t schemas of scientific logic the fabricated belief systems of religion/ideology. but i digress...

I chose to ignore the conspiracy theories because there just seems to be no end to them: food additives GMOs insurrections chemtrails drones mentally fit presidents BSL4 lab in wuhan BSL4 labs in Ukraine mostly peaceful protests prescription drugs dirty doctors handing out prescriptions for kickbacks fires global warming pedophile rings exist no they don't ok, they do, so who's in them? why can't we find out who's in them? everything gets leaked but that... adrenochrome epstein suicide everyone has to be believed - as long as she's accusing a conservative satanic elites and satanic messages everywhere Russan collusion election cheating Ukrainian collusion Can you blame me for just ignoring one conspiracy theory you worthless piece of sh1t? 19. "No matter what the court rules" sums it up. We don't need "justice" if it wouldn't serve us and our purpose. Two centuries of history, for nothing. Republicans you cannot and will not be able to stay out of it and pretend it's not happening. Either you stand to it, for the Constitution and the principles. Or you'll go down with it. Only two options and you'll have to pick one or it'll pick you. This path can be seen very clearly in the history. You absolutely will not fool the Time by playing with lying words.

  25. How about there's only so much to go around? No that's just what you righties say to dismiss the concern that bad things happen when economic disparity gets out of control. Especially when it becomes really concentrated in the face of millions of people finding it increasingly difficult to pay for basic necessities. Unmitigated greed is a really ancient social concern. It even has an ecological basis, when the water hole gets smaller the animals get meaner. A similar social cost gives the term a context that's simple for humans to see. Lickspittles throughout time have been using much the same argument you do in defense of their betters. "History Doesn't Repeat Itself, but It Often Rhymes” – Mark Twain

  29. So crazy. In your weird, broken conspiracy brain this topic is somehow related to comment I made. Fascinating. And no, the MSM didn't lie about Biden's mental health. They reported, as always, what was said and done by others. The MSM does not, as you may mistakenly believe, have access to the president outside of specific windows of availability. However, if he fell going up the stairs to AF1, they reported it. If he was strong and capable (he was) during the last SOTU, they reported it. If he was slow and foggy during the debate, (he was) they reported it. That's how reporting works. 💡 Biden is not some brain-dead zombie, as you goons like to exaggerate. He's in natural cognitive decline and is slower for it. That was obvious in the debate. But he did a fine job with the Carter eulogy today. Which is a reminder that Biden needs to live at least 4 more years to avoid having his state funeral turned into a Trump sideshow with disjointed talk of crowd sizes and beautiful little circles.

  34. Trump is an insulting bully without the decency of a rat, but most of all he is a performer. His whole schtick is performance. He’s a conman all about keeping the base entertained. And distracted. He has to keep them distracted from just how incompetent he is and how there really is no substance to him. It’s the old “fascinate the fools.” With all this talk of taking over the Panama Canal, Greenland, and Canada, he’s trying to shift their attention from the fact he will never fulfill the promises he made - like ending the Ukrainian-Russian war in one day, or carrying out the largest mass deportations ever. Just won’t happen. Just like he never built the wall or replaced the ACA.

  36. Has it been acknowledged by Canadian Conservatives? The rest of us always mention it but it seem conservatives don’t like to talking about it publicly and whenever I mention it in online forums like this one most of you will change the subject. But it’s funny because in the rest of your post you then go on to completely undermine this statement with a diatribe about how left wing the democrats are . False. As has been shoe to yoy many times, it is Republicans who always run up debts the most. Republican hero Reagan QUADRUPLED the national debt during his term. Bush Jr. Doubled it. Bush Sr and Trump also massively increased the debt also. The only president in recent history to run a balanced budget was Bill Clinton. That’s another “inconvenient truth” republicans just refuse to even acknowledge 1) Canadian Conservatives generally don’t support Republican-style gun policies and tens to mostly support Canadian gun control 2) Republicans don’t support freedom of speech more than Democrats Republicans brought in sweeping big brother surveillance law known as the Patriot Act Republicans “spent time in the shadows” snatching people off the streets and flying them to secret black sites to be tortured. Republicans attack the media and cancel people from twitter if their lies are fact checked or their statements are critiqued. Republicans canceled a beer brand because they gave a tranny influencer a free beer. Republicans tried (but failed) to cancel Disney, subjecting them to regulatory abuse for publicly criticizing their policies. Republicans have weirdly specific laws for compelled spee ch compelling public schools to teach the bible and put up religious signs, and that history lessons must biased towards “patriotic” narratives Meanwhile Canadian conservatives have shown they have no problem invoking the notwithstanding clause to bypass the charter of rights and freedoms for passing trivial issues and personal pet theories that don’t even pan out Baloney most Democrat economic policies are similar to or even to the right of mainstream Canadian Conservatives like Harper. You are trying to take fringe democratic politicians who are light years from the seat of party power and pretend they represent the mainstream democratic party. But Biden, Obama, Clinton, Pelosi are not those people. That’s an absolute lie as has been proven repeatedly. Your claim lies on a ridiculous absurd hypothetical question one grandstanding politician asked another on camera about what would happen if a baby entered a birth canal halfway through an abortion in progress which is ridiculous for so many reasons that have already been explained Besides abortion in Canada even under conservatives is far more liberal than anything any Democrat has ever proposed. In Canada there is NO criminal law specifically restricting abortion at any stage, period (but there’s also no criminal law specifically restricting a doctor from removing your brain to cure your headaches either, medical procedures are nor prescribed in criminal law).

  40. I think in all of the years I've known you this is the first time you've ever started a thread instead of complaining about the threads other people start well done. On to the 'review'... anyone who starts off saying her attention span is less than 2 hours so this was hard for her is probably not going to be intelligent Her first real critism is that polievre talks about women... accurately LOL She agrees with him and then just says she's tired of talking about babies. from there it goes downhill. She's dumber than a stump. She doesn't understand that gdp per capita 'reflects' what people earn and what they can afford and what kind of taxes the gov't collects. She feels it doesn't. SHe is wrong. it does. She then goes on to misquote facts about inflation. She then says the only reason people are struggling is the rich stole your money!!! LOLOL (stupidest comment ever) She doesn't say he makes false claims about housing. she says that if the developers saved money they'd keep it. Which shows a SHOCKING lack of understanding about the market So a little dishonest of you there mike. Bottom line this is a person who's dumber than a stamp hammer, you've misrepresented what she said Mike, and honestly she's SAID HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHNIG HE MENTIONED, but just carries on to say if Polievre fixes the problems the rich will just steal the money anyway so we're all doomed. Mike, if this is an example of what you consider to be "good" commentary, i can see why you don't get a tonne of respect here. Surely to god there's a better critique out there that actually critiques? I could write a better critique and i liked the interview.
