You realize the S. Korean President is a crook trying to cling to power, right? You know, like Trump did, with all the "stop the steal" lies and trying to get Pence to count his fake electors. I don't know the legality of Yoon's arrest warrant. But he refused a summons to appear re: his martial law declaration. Seems he declared martial law because his party lost the legislature in the March election so he can't get his agenda passed. He also had a low-20's approval rating in Nov before this whole thing began, which is lower than Trudeau's, and he and his wife are caught up in a bunch of scandals. He's an authoritarian and seems like he just cooked up some scare-tactic BS with the North Koreans to legitimate his power-grab. Since he and Trump like to subvert democracy to try to cling to power maybe they could be pen pals while they're both in jail.4 points

Absolutely a cult of personality fueled exclusively by the politcs of spite. The campaign platform and rhetoric is incoherent and schizophrenic. His voters have no idea how his promises connect to their actual problems, and they don't seem to care? Anti-inflation pro-tariff? Sure! Why not?!?2 points

Pretty much none of that is true. He will replace the carbon tax with nothing which would be vastly superior. The Dad has nothing to do with covid and even the deficit spending during covid had very little to do with covid. Most of it was on program spending that had nothing to do with covid. The deficit will continue to shrink over time and be eliminated. Our rights, being the rights of people who are not in a special interest group will likely be reinforced so that we cannot be pressured to use language that we don't want or to celebrate things we don't want or to allow men who claim to be women to participate in sports or go to women's prisons. There is a reasonable amount of appetite right now to increase military spending and he won't have to wear it if the Americans force it upon us. There's no doubt Poilievre will have a lot of work to do and it's not going to be an easy road to hoe. But things will start to get noticeably better And chances are he'll have a minimum of eight years to make things happen before he's seriously challenged again.2 points

MAGA's tend to be far more religious, have not been to college, come from rural areas, and are White men. Evangelical Christians are Cult-like, so the transition to the MAGA movement is not unexpected.2 points

In the small-ish town where I grew up in the '80s there was like one South Asian family in town and they lived in an apartment block that became universally known as the "Paki Palace." I remember a column in a major city newspaper about a strike by cab drivers that used the same racial slur and said "it's not just the cabs that are yellow." Native, ch*nk and n***er jokes were everywhere including on the playground. It didn't matter that there were hardly any racialized people in our town; if anything, that made it easier for folks to be racist because they only had bigoted stereotypes to work with. This is of course the world that conservatives want us to return to.2 points

People defer to Mr.Poilievre's false claim to be a Conservative. I have yet to hear him utter a single thing that expresses core Conserative values.2 points

Nick Sandman - $250 million from CNN for defamation. Same with WAPO and quite a number of other Libbie rags. In fact, CNN has been sued countless times for defamation. Then there's the ratings. CNN and MSNBC, plus ABC, have seen their viewership plummet. Why? Because they've been caught lying so many times that nobody but the dullest continue to trust them. They started a culture war... And they have lost. And so have you.2 points

yea its been rumoured all day long. wasn't gonna vote for him in 2025 but he was not as bad a prime minister as is currently being portrayed in 30-40 years he will be looked back at in a better light. thanks for the first good 4 years justin (besides breaking the election reform promise ) and thanks for guiding country thru the pandemic . 2022-2024 is really where it went off the rails abit but it is what it is.2 points

I keep feeling I am in loony land. Brazil and South Korea's leaders both attempt an insurrection, and it fails. The people stand up, and both leaders will be charged, and are likely facing jail time. The USA, the supposed leader in the Democratic World, let's Trump attempt a insurrection, and it fails. He is not only not punished, but he is rewarded by being allowed to run (and win) a second term.2 points

McCabe’s decision was approved by FBI Assistant Director Bill Priestap, who had also signed off on the opening of Crossfire Hurricane; and Jim Baker, the FBI general counsel. Baker was a longtime friend of Michael Sussmann, a lawyer for the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, So, when Sussman brought the bogus dossier to the FBI and "failed to disclose that he was acting as Hillary's counsel, and that the intel came from her", Baker was already aware of that anyways. That actually jives with the reason Sussman wasn't convicted, the FBI said that they were already aware of his relationship with Hillary. and a key figure in the dissemination of Clinton-funded disinformation to the FBI that falsely tied Trump to Russia. Nice. In his FBI role, Baker personally circulated the conspiracy theory, manufactured by “researchers” working with the Clinton campaign, that the Trump campaign and Russia were communicating via a secret server. AKA, Baker leaked to the media for his friend, Michael Sussman, to help Hillary. After leaving the FBI, Baker served as deputy general counsel at Twitter, The perfect place for such a snake in the grass. where he backed the company’s censorship of reporting on the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, Of course he did, but he didn't have any say in that. Twitter was part of TNI, and all the members of TNI were together on all the Russian collusion and Covid-1938 disinformation campaigns. based on yet another conspiracy theory that the laptop files were Russian disinformation. You spelled "Russian disinformation" wrong. It's: "Russian disinformation".1 point

If Canada were such a white racist country, then why do so many millions of non-whites want to immigrate to Canada then? I would not want to immigrate to some non-white country if the people of that country hated my skin color. But today, with all of this massive 3rd world immigration going on in Canada, it is not hard to want to think about becoming a white racist in Canada if it meant trying to save my white people of color from becoming a non-white people of color country. It is called instinct for survival to avoid white genocide. Just my opinion.1 point

So? On January 20 I will be telling you that Trump has more power than the hair sniffer. In fact I'll be rubbing that fact in your cyber face. Trump has already been meeting with world leaders so really, you could say that Trump's presidency has already begun.1 point

Trudeau resigns. Sad day as he did great during his 4 year first term. His father did plenty of good for Canada as well. I remember the night he was walking in a snowy night and decided to resign too. I go with Carney. Joly is much prettier but Carney can do better for Liberal party and hopefully prevent a majority conservative government in the summer election as a Liberal budget will be defeated in April and country heads to an election in June.1 point

That doesn't change the fact that Trump beat your candidate in the Electoral AND the POPULAR. Suck it, comrade!1 point

That is a pretty broad statement without foundation. The team he assembled to fight the worst crisis Canada has faced since 1945 had extraordinary positive results. The economic difficulties we faced as a result, pale in comparison to the mitigation of the potential death toll had the governments not responded as they did.1 point

"Fair" is relative too. Does it help transparency and accountability of entrenched governments? Does it make them more effective and efficient in the modern world? That's another - and entirely objective story.1 point

watching you and a couple of the other lefties here stumble over the very basics of us politics Fills us with an incredible sense of superiority. Even somebody who only knows a little feels like they know a hell of a lot when they compare themselves to you Also, your use of caps locks is an obvious sign that you know nothing so we just basically take anything you say and reverse it, and that turns out to be correct 93 percent of the time1 point

They have no problems with the fact that the Clinton Campaign literally paid a Russian to fabricate crap about Trump... to go around Russia digging up sources and whatever bad information he could find on Trump. That is totally cool. Nevermind all the crap later that was done with that report to go after Trump.1 point

Guys it's not that hard. Anyone in contact with a foreign enemy for the purpose of plotting against (or attempting to plot against) Americans are commiting treason and should be tried and executed. All this hiding behind labored lawyer talk is the reason that foreign nations can get away with corrupt influence. Plus the SCOTUS has done almost nothing to define the concepts of Article III section 3 of the US Constitution, and this Campaigns-Meeting-With-The-Russians situation would be a perfect test case.1 point

As a person with no integrity, no moral compass and no sense of ethics, this probably probably sound strange to you, but if a hostile nation's intelligence services contact one's presidential campaign offering "dirt" on an opponent, one should contact the authorities, not set up a meeting. In America, we expect our leaders to contend with hostile nations, not get into bed with them. Not to meet with them. Not to coordinate around illegal hack leaks. And damn sure not to feed them polling and strategy so that they can more effectively target Americans. You see, they are enemies of America, targeting Americans. Even if your political opponent is a sleazy scumbag like Trump, he's an American. Americans protect Americans, not hostile foreign interests. That's America first.1 point

Setting his completely dishonest characterization aside for a moment, the whole premise he's putting forward is insane. When has the left ever said "That's enough, we never need you to share more"? No matter how much you give they will insist that more is needed. No matter how much they take from you to give to someone else they will return tomorrow to demand more. When has it ever been different? When has the left ever in history ever said "we've taken enough from you, they'll have to make do on their own and they don't deserve anything else from you' ? The reality is the left is going to come and try and take everything in your bowl whether you share it or not. And that's not irrational, that is demonstrable history and experience. So the question becomes if they're going to do that anyway why give up anything in the first place? No matter how much you give they will still not be able to make it work and will need more1 point

I've also noticed that the posters that represent Team Canada, usually provide accurate information, unlike Team MAGA, who use unreliable information, and post on emotion, and not substance. My assumption is that Canadians are more educated than the MAGA loons.1 point

That attempt at collusion certainly illustrates intent on the part of the campaign, but I was referring specifically to the documented meetings and exchanges between Manafort and Kilimnik. With elaborate contrivances to hide their exchanges, Manafort delivered sensitive Intel to known Russian intelligence agent Kilimnik, who in turn delivered it to Russian intelligence--while Russian intelligence was actively targeting Americans with election interference activities.1 point
-
This is all likely accurate, but I think the thing that will really sink them is the fact that even when it's overturned they're still going to constantly refer to him as a convicted criminal because they simply don't care about the truth. If they can go 8 years of claiming Russian collusion Despite a massive investigation finding no such thing then I guarantee you they're still going to go on about how he was a convicted felon while he was president As you say the American people see through these cheap theatrics and they're sick of it. They want leaders who are dealing with the issues and who are making their lives better not petty theatrics and weaponizing the courts to go after your political opponents.1 point

And we have a possible runner up.... Freeland reaches out to Liberal MPs as speculation swirls Several MPs, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Star that Freeland has reached out and spoken to them in recent days. While the MPs said Freeland did not bring up the Liberal leadership, one of them felt the calls were connected to a potential leadership run, while another said they were “impressed” by the outreach. Now here's a fun fact many don't know. Mark Carney is Christina freeland's child's godfather. He has always been close with their family. This article says that she didn't specifically mention a leadership run the people felt she was feeling them out. I have to wonder if she's looking at the possibility of supporting mark carney as a possible leader candidate. If that's true, and she's thinking of propping him up if Justin steps down, then she is cruel beyond belief because she will help him get eaten alive.1 point
