More than 100 former national security officials from Republican administrations and former Republican members of Congress endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday after concluding that their party’s nominee, Donald J. Trump, is “unfit to serve again as president.” In a letter to the public, the Republicans, including both vocal longtime Trump opponents and others who had not endorsed Joseph R. Biden Jr. in 2020, argued that while they might “disagree with Kamala Harris” on many issues, Mr. Trump had demonstrated “dangerous qualities.” Those include, they said, “unusual affinity” for dictators like President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and “contempt for the norms of decent, ethical and lawful behavior.” It quoted Mr. Trump’s own former vice president, Mike Pence, who has said that “anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.” “As president,” the letter said, “he promoted daily chaos in government, praised our enemies and undermined our allies, politicized the military and disparaged our veterans, prioritized his personal interest above American interests and betrayed our values, democracy and this country’s founding documents.” The 111 signatories included former officials who served under Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush or George W. Bush. Many of them had previously broken with Mr. Trump, including two former defense secretaries, Chuck Hagel and William S. Cohen; Robert B. Zoellick, a former president of the World Bank; the former C.I.A. directors Michael V. Hayden and William H. Webster; a former director of national intelligence, John D. Negroponte; and former Gov. William F. Weld of Massachusetts. Miles Taylor and Olivia Troye, two Trump administration officials who became vocal critics, also signed. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/18/us/politics/republican-officials-harris-endorsement.html3 points

Oh if some random stranger posted it on social media it must be absolutely true. Just like those 2020 election fraud affidavits MAGAs are so hopelessly and pathetic gullible. It is absolutely hilarious. Trump lost the debate get over it. Kamala didn’t dictate that Trump say crazy shit about immigrants eating dogs or having a meltdown over people leaving his rallies early.3 points

1. You didn't answer the question: why would the cops lie about this? 2. What press release? 3. No one called it a training exercise. Reading the statements from the cops here, they're talking about a person (not a cop) training their own bomb sniffing dog. I'm betting it was some MAGA Boomer who took it upon themselves to bring their Shih Tzu to the rally to protect Trump lol. So to recount: some rando brought their own dog, claimed to have found a bomb, the cops checked it out as a "suspicious incident" but found no bomb or any explosives and released that information to the media but you think they're covering up an actual bomb threat because you're mentally ill.2 points

Why are you blaming libs? The pursuit of cheap labor has never really been their agenda. According to your own source, the obvious culprit here is capitalism. It is people who care more about profit than they care about the coherence and social cohesion of the people of canada.2 points

It's called an internal critique. One does not have to believe in their interlocutors meta physics to show the logical fallacies there in. Using the bible( or any holy book someone believes in) to show the ignorance of the belief system is a completely valid form of argumentation. I can call out L Ron Hubbard on his bull without getting audited.2 points

Convoy scum, typical right wing “fake tough guys” who will yell vulgar insults from a distance but whose genitals retract into stomach when they’re confronted. “Who me I didn’t say anything!” Shameful coward. Not to mention they’re disrupting a family -friendlyTerry Fox ceremony with their vulgarity. What a disgrace to Canada2 points

They said there is NO EVIDENCE that it's happening. Duh He's not necessarily detached from reality. He knows how to divide people and motivate his anti-immigrant base with those LIES. It works for his campaign whenever he can demonize immigrants. Notice how he's still LYING about the Haitians being ILLEGAL when THEY'RE NOT.2 points
-
Well…. Riiiight…. What they said is that they have no evidence whatsoever. I get that in Trump La-La-Land, you just make up any stupid shlt you want, claim it’s true and then attack people because they can’t “prove” that the lie you just told is make believe. Why do you fall for this? Just one outright lie after another? They aren’t eating the pets and they aren’t killing the babies after they’re born. Donald Trump is detached from reality.2 points

Let me get this straight: When the leaders of Springfield say something you agree with — that these threats come from overseas — then you believe it’s true. But when the leaders of Springfield say something you don’t like — for instance, that pets aren’t being stolen and eaten — then you don’t believe it’s true. At least, not enough to wonder why in the world Trump and Vance keep insisting that it is true.2 points

This is awesome. Singh is a legitimate Jiu-Jitsu master (may even be a black belt). These two cowards wanted none of that, and Singh would have handed them their lunch. Brings back memories of when Chretien choked out that annoying protester back in the 90s. What clowns these convoy protesters are. Looks like he "found out" when he cowardly shouted at Singh.1 point

It really is. It destroys wealth rather than redistributes it in the end, and it's morally wrong. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation.1 point

It isn't rumor that Haitian migrants have killed people with their reckless driving. It is not rumor that they've created a housing crisis. It is not rumor that the schools are having to spend money they don't have to get translators for kids that don't speak English. It is not a rumor that local charities are overrun with food and clothing requests.1 point

The problem isn't just the wage. It's the temporary nature of it. It's like they're having a lot of problems getitng tree planters. the only people who are interested are students who only need work in the summer. There was talk back in the day about making it a requirement for welfare - if you're on welfare you had to go pick berries. They called it "workfare". It got shot down very fast tho.1 point

I hate the WEF globalist puppet on a string Freeland who has been trying for years now to turn Canada into a WEF globalist controlled country, and i should like her for doing so? quote What does the Bible say about good versus evil? Answer Among the most universal beliefs across all humanity is the concept of “good versus evil.” Every culture in every era has held to some version of this struggle. The definitions of the terms good and evil vary wildly, as do opinions on how they interact. Still, belief in some difference between that which is “good” and that which is “evil” pervades all of mankind. When all options and ideas are compared, only the Bible provides a perspective on good and evil that is fully coherent and fully livable (Psalm 25:6–15). According to the Bible, “good versus evil” is not a matter of opinion. Nor is it an evenly matched struggle between two beings or forces. Scripture does not indicate that the boundaries of good and evil change. Nor does it claim the conflict between them will last forever. Of special importance is that the Bible does not suggest some people are good, while other people are evil. Rather, the Bible teaches that good and evil are defined in reference to a perfect and unchanging God. Every person must grapple individually with the presence and temptations of evil. Scripture notes that all evil, without exception, will ultimately be punished and defeated. And it tells us there is an ultimate standard of goodness to which we should aspire—a standard grounded in a person, rather than a theory. Good and Evil Are Objectively Distinct According to the Bible, there is a real difference between good and evil. Some worldviews claim all moral distinctions are based purely on preference. Atheism, for instance, allows no objective basis for defining anything as “good” or “evil.” In a godless universe, there are only things a person prefers and things a person does not prefer. This is a key reason why philosophies embracing atheism always tend toward violence and tyranny: there is no sense of higher authority and no reason to moderate the whims of those in power. The idea that defining good and evil depends on preferences or situations is commonly called moral relativism. Scripture rejects this idea as false. The Bible defines some things as “good” and other things as “evil” (Isaiah 5:20; Romans 12:9). This dichotomy is reflected in the consistent use of themes such as light versus darkness (Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16; John 1:5; Ephesians 5:8). The ultimate fate of all people depends on whether they are aligned with a good God or opposed to Him (1 Corinthians 6:9–11; Revelation 21:8). Discerning between good and evil is possible only in reference to a single, unchanging standard: the perfect nature of God. God is not subject to morality, since He is the source and benchmark for it. Nor is morality subject to change, since God’s perfect nature is eternal and unchanging. Counters such as Euthyphro’s dilemma fail, since they do not distinguish between an eternal, unchanging God and the fickle deities of ancient Greek religion. Good and Evil Are Not Balanced A frequent component of fiction and fantasy is the idea that good and evil are equally balanced, evenly matched forces. According to this view, neither is ultimately in control. Either may eventually win. This is the concept of dualism, which suggests a perpetual balance between the forces of good and evil. In some cases, dualism implies that opposing beings, such as God and Satan, are deadlocked in a struggle for control and power. Some worldviews teach that all good and evil will eventually be balanced. This is related to Eastern ideas such as karma, which implies that good and evil are inherently imbalanced but will one day be evened out. Scripture rejects dualism as false. The Bible indicates that God is absolutely supreme and in no danger whatsoever of being defeated (Job 42:2; Psalm 89:8; Galatians 6:7). What Satan does, he is “allowed” to do, but he cannot act to overpower God (Job 1:12; Revelation 9:1; 20:7). Biblically, evil is destined only for defeat and destruction. Not one single act of evil will escape judgment; every sin will either be paid for by Christ on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21) or by those who reject Christ (John 3:36) as they experience an eternity in hell (Revelation 20:11–15). unquote For the full article go to: What does the Bible say about good versus evil? | GotQuestions.org I find search engines and these articles extremely useful. Where else would one learn this much in such a short time with minimal reading. One can also utilize the scripture references to dig deeper into the information.1 point

Throwing hundreds of millions and billions of dollars at FNs has just made Canada poorer and will solve nothing as far as making them self sufficient and independent. In fact giving and spending vast sums of money only makes people more dependent and less willing to work to support themselves.1 point
