Yes, but under the circumstances, completely necessary. The American Revolution was illegal too, when it happened. But it wasn't just used to end the protests and blockades in Ottawa and at the US border. Trudeau is a narcissistic megalomaniac, and the martial law we had here was about much more than just that. The Act was supposed to be restricted to regions facing an actual violent threat, not just economic hardship, but they applied it country-wide with no legal mandate to do so, and as a result the gov't was able to shut down all forms of protest or even public complaints against their beloved vax anywhere in the country. It also gave the police broader powers to spy on those dastardly anti-vaxers, and to shut down the bank accounts of anyone who did business with them. It even gave police the right to seize people's belongings, which they did. It's disgusting that the NDP still support Trudeau as a legitimate PM of Canada.2 points

You're playing a very poor game of semantics. As illustrated, "pro-life" doesn't have anything at all to do with life, writ large. It very simply means that we should outlaw abortion, robbing women of the choice whether to suffer a pregnancy or terminate it. Which brings us back to WHY the pro-life flag is indeed antagonistic. It's none of your business where, when or why a woman terminates a pregnancy. It's her body, and her choice. It's not entering the building that makes one religious. Gallup: Those with no religious identity are much more accepting of abortion; only 5% of this group say abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, and only 21% say abortion is morally wrong. ^^There you go. 5% of the non-religious are "pro-life" This is ridiculous. It's like "debating" the color of the sky. The pro-life movement is based in religion and driven almost entirely by Catholics and evangelicals. The sky is blue. There is no debate or controversy. There is only one criminal trial with any merit: the one with Trump and the classified documents. But the problem I have with that is they have proven twice now that it is political by never going after Clinton and saying Biden is too old and can't remember anything to go after. If you are going to prosecute people for this, then you prosecute them all. Otherwise, it is exactly as it appears to be: selective prosecution to play politics.1 point

You could make the same argument about someone who didn't want to serve someone in their establishment, due to their religion, ethnicity etc. The interest groups represent the rights of those groups, and their rights to be treated equally. But even at a basic level you should understand that the SCOTUS making an unpopular decision that allows states to deny women basic privacy and physical autonomy has nothing to do with democracy. Also, there's even been quite a few "conflict of interest" scandals in the news - Mary Ng, Anita Anand, Trudeau himself, Frank Bayliss, Rouleau, etc. Many Libs gave sweet contracts to friends and family during the pandemic. In the ArrivScam inquiry, it also came out that many Libs are "double-dipping" - working in gov't positions while also picking up contracts to do other gov't work.1 point
