No one was killing "babies" under Roe, dick-head.2 points

They had 50 years to codify Roe and didn't. Our Congress is lazy and they don't want to deal with anything that is controversial so they use it as a wedge issue but never do anything about it. It is the very reason the President has way more power than he should because Congress is like "whew, he made the decision" either a. they can attack him on it but never do anything about or b. praise him and not do anything about. Lets face it Congress largely stopped really legislating years ago and let the President do whatever he wants and then uses the Supreme Court to maybe stop him when he does something they don't like.2 points

um, do you guys read anything you cite? i mean, beyond the headline? '“Zoom remains committed to DEI and ensuring its principles remain firmly rooted in our DNA across our entire company.” ' "Too often, when companies are forced to trim headcount, DEI jobs are among the first to go." not defending it per se... but KPI's that drive profit are going to be hard to nail down. so it'll be one of those things that go first if you are just trying to keep the lights on.2 points

Good, DEI is awful and incredibly racist and creates the opposite effect than they anticipated when it comes to race relations in the workplace.2 points

The problem the government has (and especially with anything advanced or tech-related), is that high-performers and those with the most expertise have no interest in working for the bureaucratic public service, even if the benefits are wonderful. As a result, the public service is chronically short of actual expertise and know-how. For something like ArriveCan, the people on-staff in the public service are so woefully inadequate to the task that they wouldn't even know where to start on something of that scale, or where to even find the people who would, nevermind managing and directing them. This story begins and ends with a bloated, ineffective bureaucracy being bureaucratic and wasting our money, and our time.2 points

So, what do you think Putin will take from Trump's comments? You really don't think it will be an encouragement? Putin is the one who made European members increase defence spending, not Trump.2 points

That's what I thought until I saw Black Dog's posts in the "Mopey Leftists" thread earlier today. I suddenly realized that I had never even thought about what the penis area on the Trump squishy should tase like. I didn't know there were options. Here I was thinking about the huge smiles on their faces the day they got their emotional support buttplugs, I had no idea that the tase of Trump's dick would set them off. Could I get sued if it doesn't taste right? Didn't Trump already get sued for that by someone? @Black Dog, when you get your Trump squishy, what do you want the penis area to taste like? Don't say "yuuuuuge" because that's not a flavour and there won't be an actual penis on it. You'll have to get that doll from @robosmith, if he's even selling any of his.2 points

A part of the Republican leadership has cowered to Trump irrevocably, giving up all that matters: the integrity; the principles; the responsibility; the regard by the future generations, for fear or a promise of future treats. That's OK, happened and happens all the time. This is not another political game though, and you know it. It can be a decisive moment in the history and all acts, lies and inaction will be recorded in it. I offer to the Republicans in the House, who still value their self-respect; principles and values a blueprint out of this conundrum. It will work. If you don't like it, come up with another one that will work. This is important: inaction isn't an option because there are no valid reasons and no explanations for cowardice in the decisive moments of history. - Move the motion to fire Johnson who's been torpedoing this critical matter for months now one a cue and waiting for a treat from his owner the buffoon. - Vote to elect democratic House Leader for one vote only. - Pass the bill. - Move the motion to remove the House Leader. - The Democrats abstain and it's back to the status quo. But the bill is passed. And inaction in this time isn't an option. And you know it. The posterity will remember this as a bold; courageous; non-partisan; and absolutely needed for the free future of America act. When the Time itself is calling, there can be no excuses to not act.1 point

In other words, that is our roots, our history, our origin. And that is what the Liberals have sought to eliminate at every turn in a feeble effort at having Canada be a bit less offensive to Quebec.1 point

Michael, this can go on forever. I only went in that direction to appease you with your questions. I think what Bell did is atrocious for local television news. It basically leaves one tv source in most cities (and even provinces). Newspaper monopolies have gone the same way. All the news we get is now determined by corporate headquarters. I have said enough. EDIT. Wait, one last thing, why on earth would we subsidize monopolies? That is what our tv news and newspaper distributors have become.1 point

no man... thats what you don't see. robo is a regular person. he just asks a simple question that people who are blinded by ideology can't answer. you are the one with the extreme views. and its not your fault that you can't answer. because you don't know. the people involved are not speaking. Trump has said nothing about it. he's smart enough to not open his mouth about it. because it would be used in court against him. you're not a nazi.1 point

Is it just a coincidence that there's an artificial unintelligence chatbot called "robostooge" that's programmed to lie 24/7? I think not.1 point

yeah i get all of your points. that you don't believe that certain populations that have been poor for a very long time do not deserve to be properly represented in the workplace, public sector and education. even if the government could pass a law in a day and have them shipped overseas to take a bullet in the head. and that you are all old white guys. i did some consulting in Atlanta in the 90's for a few short months. all of the management were white males. all of the non-management were blacks. the management i communicated with let out that they had a management practice that if non-management workers got "uppity" then they would "re-nigg". i... kid... you... not. they laughed. maybe it was just a joke. i wasn't around long enough to find out.1 point

Dominion helps rig elections - it's why Hussein Obama was so attracted to it. Hopefully more and more states will kick that piece of sh*t system to the curb.1 point

The problem is we really suck at doing anything about corruption. So we should try applying the same logic to attracting honest talent as we do to attract competent talent - make compensation for honesty so good that it out competes corruption.1 point

It's funny you guys constantly invoke all these terrible and inaccurate analogies becaus eyou're incapable of addrssing the arguments on their own terms. You're lying again. No one said anything about lying to parents, liar. I'm basing it on the DSM-5-TR definition of gender dysphoria. Because if the kid wants their parents to know they would tell them and not ask someone else to keep their confidence. duh. Maybe that's how you roll but most smart people can tell the difference between an adult saying "don't tell anyone this happened" and a kid asking someone to not say anything to their parents about something they might not accept. Yeah was that at the same school where the kids were identifying as cats and using litterboxes? This isn't "Tommy isn't taking his insulin" or "Sally told me she has an eating disorder" and the fact you think of this issue in terms of harmful pathologies says a lot. You and facts and reason aren't acquainted in the slightest. NGMI.1 point

With the disaster that unfolded in airports and clearing arriving passengers during the pandemic, it sounds like he government panicked and just threw away tens of millions of dollars to some individuals or small companies that saw an opportunity to really scam the taxpayers.1 point

Oh they've sweated it being overturned since the day it was handed down. They've never stopped talking about that possibility and offered it as reasons why they must keep the supreme court stacked etc etc. "Killing babies" is of course illegal already everywhere, the problem is the definition of what is or is not a 'baby'. And really something that is so open to discussion and interpretation and such really DOESN'T belong in the constitution, it belongs in the state legislatures where the people of that state can have a discussion and come to a decision and pass laws that reflect their beliefs1 point

Then don't do it at all. It is not possible for 'arms length funding' unless the funding is built into the constitution or the like. The moment the gov't has control over the funding then the issue becomes 'which party should we support that will give us MOAR funding". No matter where the source of funding comes from the media will be bias in favour of it. When that source is the subscribers and advertisers then sure the stories are goign to pander to them but they're the ones directly paying for it and consuming it so no foul. But when gov'ts are the 'customer' - that's a problem.1 point

Stepping back from the pure politics of this issue, which I have already written about in another thread, what kind of question is this anyway? Who would ask it of the president of the United States, and what kind of answer would they expect other than what Trump said? In other words who would be nuts enough to say, "We are legally obligated by the treaty to spend US blood and treasure to defend direlect countries such as yours, while you guys sit back and keep your money, party on and smoke your doobies dressed in drag." You people really got a screw loose.1 point

As i say it was literally your contention. I agree - it's an !diotc principle. We don't do what kids want just because they as as you suggest. But i note that when it suits you you're perfectly fine with that thihnking. "I duuno... just seems right..." But when it's pointed out how stupid it is then you're "What! Why would you even say that". Your hypocrisy is staggering. So can we abandon your original premise and agree that it is NOT a good thing to just do what kids ask? It points out the hypocrisy of yourself and those like you on the left, as well as nicely highlighting exactly why we DO NOT do what kids want just because they ask. Which proves the argument that the parents absolutely should have a say in this. I'ts not a false comparison, it's not a construction. I know - you're butthurt because you tried to use a trite argument to sound like others who disagreed with you weren't "Human". And now it's bit you in the ass. Thanks for helping with the demonstration1 point

Throw in the mix extreme partisanship and unhinged propaganda. Who promised that it will work no matter what you do or not and throw at it? It is up to each generation to test and find out where the boundaries are. Yes you can lose your sanity and see what happens. If you live to see it.1 point

They've likely fired, or lost, their planners too. The layoffs were large right? The machine is breaking.. This happened to a degree when newspapers were challenged by television in the 1960s and 70s. Anyone here remember the Toronto Telegram? Those if you baffled by this, or in denial, can go read Neil Postman. We will soon be living in the media space of the late 19th century all over again.1 point

AAAND don't care. Nobody says that. You're thinking of and incorrectly trying to quote Sandburg i suspect but you got it pretty wrong However - they might just start saying it after trump. You guys are bound and determined to put him back in office and then his legal woes go away.1 point

Germany signed a non-aggression pact with Poland, which is nothing more than an agreement to not attack each other. The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, on the other hand, was a secret pact between Nazi Germany and the USSR to jointly attack Poland and divide it between them. It was the Soviet Union that cooperated and colluded with Hitler, but that history doesn't line up with Putin's exercises in make-believe.1 point
