  1. DeSantis obviously believes in cruelly abusing disabled children if he lets you near them.

  2. I won’t get into specifics because I have to protect privacy, but I can say that a small group of activists is literally ruining careers and reputations in my field right now. It’s all in the name of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. At first glance it seems very warm and progressive, but I’ve seen colleagues placed on leaves, incoherent justifications, and silence or a downright throwing under the bus of respected, hard-working, conscientious people whose only crime was not immediately accepting that a negative behaviour of a racialized person was untrue and a mischaracterization due to racist attitudes. I’ve had colleagues be told to give a pass to people of colour for behaviour warranting discipline for everyone else. The funny thing is that I’ve always had a support the underdog mentality. If I think someone has come from a hard place or hasn’t had as many opportunities, I’ve always pushed for that person and helped where I could. Now I’m seeing good, fair-minded people be judged and quietly removed from their roles because they didn’t assume the framework or use the charged accusatory language of the anti-discrimination activists who are paid big bucks to train our employee groups. Everyone is scared to question publicly what they perceive as radical and exaggerated. I see much of this as a reaction to trigger events during the pandemic, like the George Floyd death, the radar detection of possible unmarked graves at residential schools, and a population that felt totally powerless during lockdowns and public health mandates. The latest stage in the cultural revolution is gender ideology. We’re being forced to accept ideas that the majority of us know not to be true and that science says are not true to placate another activist group, under the banner of human rights. There’s no middle ground or rational argument that says, some people feel like a different gender than their biological one and are willing to undergo plastic surgery and hormone suppression to make themselves appear like another gender, so out of care we try to make reasonable accommodations for these people without trouncing on women’s rights, men’s rights, religious rights, and so on. Instead the activists are again forcing everyone to agree with them. Somehow we have become slaves to the committees that pushed for certain training, policies, and legislation without much public debate or time to watch changes gradually unfold. We haven’t been careful and looked at the consequences. Well the results are coming in: a lost generation of young men who no one wants to educate or employ, a denigrated segment of society who were born white and are now excluded from racialized only job postings and told they are racist even if they’re not conscious of it and haven’t done anything that’s clearly discriminatory. I don’t know how much worse this has to get before people finally realize that it’s not okay to assume our society is white supremacist and genocidal just because a once mostly white country that was more progressive than most did things that by today’s standards don’t seem progressive. Of course there isn’t even agreement on what’s progressive. Some call colour blindness progressive. Others say it’s racist. These are arguable positions, which is why accusations of racism must be restricted to the clear and indisputable: racist insults, discrimination on the basis of race for job and education opportunities, etc. The radical activists are hurting people, and the push really is coming mostly from the left. There are no codified racist policies except, arguably, ones that fall under affirmative action. Not hiring someone because he or she doesn’t speak English isn’t racist. Of course immigrant outcomes will be different and the reasons aren’t always racism. There are some racist attitudes, but they exist among all races. We can be thoughtful and check ourselves against biases. What we can’t do is ignore merit and fact, and privilege certain groups through policies and quota schemes in an activist attempt to force equal outcomes no matter how effective someone is as a worker or student. We’ve lost the plot in that regard. Anyone who says this isn’t a big deal, just look at job boards today. Sometimes fully half or more of the jobs are Equity positions, and I can promise you that white people are at a disadvantage applying for these positions, which are highly political and representative of one end of the political spectrum.

  3. John Baird story more proof that the CBC needs to be defunded Looks like CBC heard all the calls from the federal Conservatives to defund them and decided to give them more reason to do so. On Tuesday, CBC torqued a report and a headline to make it look like a key backer of Pierre Poilievre was singing the praises of Justin Trudeau. “One of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s most prominent supporters praised Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s political leadership during a conference on Tuesday,” CBC reported. That’s not what Baird said at all. But if you only follow CBC instead of reality, you wouldn’t know that. Baird is absolutely correct here; CBC is once again acting like a spin machine for the Trudeau Liberals. I mean - they don't even bother to hide it any more. They are so partisan they'll lie about what someone said to spread their misinformation. And any number of moarons her will call it a 'Mistake". "Oh papers make mistakes all the time, this is just a mistake". I"m getting past de funding to be honest - Just shut them down seize back their assets and sell it off. Promise to never spend a single gov't dollar on any company that hires any of their ex employees.

  4. Florida followed with most of America’s Covid responses until about April, 2021. The Federal government prioritized vaccine distributions to Florida’s elderly population. But then, DeSantis went wackadoodle and discouraged vaccines for people under 65, then opened businesses and schools. Then the Delta variant popped up, and the results are no surprise: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/22/us/politics/ron-desantis-covid.html

  5. Look, it's pretty clear that you don't have any knowledge or understanding of political philosophy. That's probably something worth exploring before you try to define freedom. Freedom does, in fact, mean that you get to do whatever you want. And within the context of a formal society in which liberty is negotiated and traded for other benefits, freedom means doing whatever you like as long as it's not harming others. The prevention of harm is the function of the laws. Laws are passed to prevent one person's freedom from impinging upon another person's freedom. Colloquially, my right to swing my arms around ends where doing so would impact your body. Your freedom not to be struck supercedes my right to do whatever I want. The fact that you think red ties are ugly is not grounds to limit my freedom to wear a red tie by passing laws to prohibit it. It doesn't harm you, or anyone else. There is no justification. You may think that gay marriage is "yucky" but, like heterosexual marriage, there is no harm or risk to anyone outside of the consenting couple. Therefore there is no justification to make it illegal This is a pretty simple proposition. If you can't demonstrate harm (you can't) then you are taking away or limiting someone else's rights simply because of your arbitrary preferences. That's inherently antagonistic toward freedom. You favor religious oppression and forced conformity over liberty. That's just the facts as they stand, and it couldn't be more plain.

  6. Buddy, he doesn't have a single comment about the actual film in his first post. Not one. Didn't even say that he watched the trailer, doesn't have a single fact about the movie, nothing. I could literally say "Conspiracy theorists support [insert anything here]. Don't associate with it." about anything that more than 50 people are interested in and I'd be correct. He ran his mouth when he knew nothing. And again, why? How did this film make him so butthurt? Here are some inconvenient truths: -pedophiles hate that film just like MH does -human traffickers hate that film just like MH does -MH doesn't offer a compelling reason for his great disdain of that film Make of that what you will. I just think it's weird.

  7. Here's a stupid conspiracy theory about human trafficking: Pierre Poilievre is behind ALL OF IT. Now if you disagree with me then you are obviously in FAVOUR OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING.

  8. Can you imagine never assuming that deciding not to vote for PP doesn't automatically signify support for Trudeau? It doesn't seem as if any deplorable of your ilk is capable of that.

  10. I don't know what it's withholding and THAT'S the problem. The absence of knowing is causing the proliferation of misinformation that is dividing everyone. Most of all it's worsening the division between the governed from the government. It's partisans who will suffer the most from this as the public's inability to know who or what to trust continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Politics as it's being 'played' is completely unsustainable.

  11. So this isn't a left vs right issue where progressives are saying they're right and conservatives are wrong, it's occurring on the other political axis where the people in charge are simply saying comply with our authority or else. So called conservatives in this thread are doing exactly what it is they're complaining about, bullying and cancelling the left in it's entirety and calling it monstrous for not getting on board with them. I can only imagine what would happen if you guys were put in charge of facilitating some educational course I was compelled to take and I said 'excuse me, but I think you're overstating the case'. I'd be cancelled on the spot. And now you'll prove my case for me.

  12. So the only two possibilities in the GOP field are the literally insane extremists? The GOP used to nominate far more rational people. George Bush II was a flawed President; but geez, he’s the one who got the government to create a pandemic response plan. And it wasn’t his administration; HE did it. Now we have jackasses who think vaccines are myths and public health experts don’t know what they’re doing and science is myth. There are plenty of GOP candidates to choose from who aren’t batshlt crazy. It doesn’t have to be MTG vs Brobert in a cage match.

  16. Actually, that's exactly parallel to what Sharia is: laws based on the religious interpretations of those in power rather than upon a foundation of reasoned freedom. Of course, that's insanity. Depending who is in power at any given moment it may or may not be against the law to eat bacon. You want a county, it's just not America as it was founded and exists today.

  19. The CBC later clarified Mr. Baird’S remarks. Why would you want to destroy a great Canadian institution over one story. Especially when the story was about a silly subject like politics. The CBC is a lot more than politics. When a news broadcaster is criticized by both New Democrats for favouring the right wing, and the Socreds for supporting the left wing, you can see it as being neutral. Politics is a sport. Canada is better at politics than any other country but it is still a sport. Like any sport, it is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game. The parties are the teams. My party is the Conservative Party and we have been eliminated from the playoffs. Whether the Grits or the Socialist Credt Party (calling themselves the CPC) win will have as much impact on the course of government as who wins the Grey Cup. Mr. Baird was correct in stating the obvious that Prime Minister Trudeau has been successful but we must always remember that a Government is a Cabinet, not an individual. Sinclair may be the greatest soccer player in history, but only because she is part of a team. Why would you want to defund the CBC because they broadcast something nice about the liberals? They sometimes report on a story that is positive about the Blue Jays. That is no different. The CBC is designed to provide something for everybody and has an international reputation for excellence. From the Friendly Giant to The Nature of Things, Coronation Street, As It Happens, Murdoch Mysteries, At Issue, and Frankie Drake. The CBC has provided many excellent reporters for major foreign news outlets and several outstanding conservative politicians such as Ron Collister and Peter Kent. If the implication of the OP is correct and the CBC has the power to get a party elected, I question the wisdom of alienating the people who can put you in power. Would it not be smarter to cultivate support from them?

  20. IN FACT you accused Rebound of LYING, too. Thus it is YOU who LIED ^HERE. LMAO Your governor was in office during the LAST FOUR and a HALF Years while the suit was BEING DECIDED. What did HE DO to correct the PROBLEM that the JUDGE FOUND was a VIOLATION? I'm betting you will present NOTHING, because DeSantis is just as big an a-hole as Scott. Probably bigger.

  21. If ANY Democratic candidate is radical, it's RFK Jr. Biden is the moderate on the left. Trump is radical on the right pushing authoritarian fascist policies. And DeSantis is running to the RIGHT of him. IF YOU elect Trump, he will likely complete the job he started on Jan 6th, of destroying democracy.

Natural processes from the distant past do NOT prove anything about current manmade fossil fuel burning processes that affect the climate. Are you denying that HUMANS are pumping GIGA-TONS of CO2 into the atmosphere every year? Annual carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions worldwide from 1940 to 2022(in billion metric tons)

  23. The deliberate moves toward a digital currency have been occurring for about a decade. Probably many moves and preparations done before then too. CBDC's will be introduced using the carrot and stick approach. An economic crisis will come, and the governments will say, "We want to get the money in your hands(the public) but its going to take too long. Here's a new way we can get it to you. Simply sign up on this Gov website, agree to all of the stipulations(there will be many pages that no one will read), and we can get you this money TODAY and you can spend it out of your account TODAY!" The stick part will be that the money has to be spent within a certain time or it will disappear. Plus it can't be spent on certain things. Very few people will realize that the ability to see what you are spending this money on, or not spending it at all, is something that the government has never been able to do before(except for cash, of course). The dark side of CBDC. A few people will probably get their accounts frozen, but they will be painted as extremist conspiracy theorists by the media. Cash will remain, but more and more stories in the news will appear on how antiquated cash money is, how it's causing so many problems. The young already are programmed to not use cash, its just the old that have to be programmed on the dangers of the germs that cash carries, etc, to be willing to give it up. And other "news" stories exposing "extremists" that are hoarding cash, etc. People are so easy to program now that everyone has a smart phone to do the work. Will this work, this transfer of our economic rights over to the government? That depends on us.

  24. The point is this Ottawa elite career politician who has never had to work a real job in his life used this poor woman as a political prop without her consent and he did so in a degrading and humiliating manner making her feel ashamed of her modest standard of living. He might as well have said “Look at this pathetic poor person and her disgusting shack! And here’s her address!” Some “man of the people”

  25. Okay so PP can draw attention to things that are broken and to himself. He needs to draw attention to his fixes and solutions. All he's really said is that everything is broken because everything is woke. A do-over doesn't add much to that.

  26. 1. OK, well why is a campaign like this a priority then ? I don't like it either. 2. I think it looks suspicious for people to dress up the latest F*** Trudeau campaign as #SaveTheChildren. They stole the name from a charity. They stole the look from Every Child Matters. They're trying to do a new F*** Trudeau but somehow make it about some QAnon conspiracy tied to Liberals and Democrats. And anti-vax stuff of course. And anti-LGBTQ, anti-Pride, anti-COP... It's very dishonest and dishonourable.

  28. First of all, I don't take religion or race into account when I put idi0ts in their place here. I'm an equal opportunity educator. I don't care if you are a Jew, a Muslim, A Christian, A Hindu, an Atheist, it's irrelevant to political discussions, unless the discussions are about religion. Secondly, Unelected Joe and the IDI0TS who elected him are NATIONAL SOCIALISTS, which means they are neo Nazis. Last time the Nazis were in power, Jews got gassed. (It's that little known thing called WORLD HISTORY, that you liberals missed by dropping out of the third grade in an inferior blue state public school.) I don't care if I'm talking to a Jewish man or not. I KNOW I'm talking to a STUPID man. And you NAZIS have hurled plenty of insults at THIS Jewish man, so you have NO FCKING ROOM TO TALK, Fraulien.
