The three "broke a House rule because we're fighting for kids who are dying from gun violence and people in our communities who want to see an end to the proliferation of weaponry in our communities. And that leads to our expulsion? This is not democracy." I come at this from a less 'moral' and more 'practical' position. Unplanned unwed pregnancies are known to lead to additional crime and other social problems. Less so with our canadian safety net than in the states, but still nonetheless. Truth be told, i ran a little side 'charity' when i was younger refurbing old computers that clients were disposing of and giving them to single moms who were looking at returning to school to upgrade their skills so that they could do the basics like use the internet and word/excel. I know what it was like for many of them. Are we likely to be able to get kids to stop having sex? Probably not. Is it reasonable to think kids under the age of 21 are going to always make the best decisions? Oh hell no. It is desirable to have fewer unplanned pregnancies. Kids are going to boink. Ergo - making birth control as accessable as possible does seem to have some merit. I HATE paying for things out of my tax dollars that only benefit one sex and that i will never get a benefit from personally in any way, but in this case i think it's justified.

Not only is it not a right, the state can prevent you from getting it. Unless you go outside the country.

The two publicly declared solutions are two-state and one-state. Instead, Israel has for years quietly pursued a 1.1 state path, land minus people, whereby Palestinians will never be citizens of a country and will have zero rights in their shrinking West Bank enclaves, subjected to Chinese-style state surveillance in perpetuity. Alternatively, there’s no reason why Israel can’t leave the current borders in place, halt settlement building and wait to see whether an interlocutor arises on the other side for an eventual two-state solution. People change and cultures change, especially today. On the question posed, I think Canada is right to be vaguely neutral on this issue and suggest a two-state solution eventually. We don’t need to get too involved here. Given the increasingly illiberal direction of Israeli politics, working for the welfare of Palestinians on the ground is probably all we can do to help.

Deny, deny, deny everything for as long as possible, and be aggressive about it. -Accuse people who do mention the association of making assumptions due to their own vile nature. -Try to blame their association with other groups if you can to muddy the waters. -Try to portray the incident as a huge car crash or something, no matter how absurd that is. Our base will be credulous enough to believe it if we're loud enough about everything. -Provide whatever justification you can (again - no matter how absurd), just be subtle about it: give the perpetrator as much victim status as you can. (eg, if a black BLMer assassinates a bunch of cops, find a way to talk about racism and slavery from 150 years ago, like Barack Obama did) The exact opposite applies when our people are the victims. Make all of the associations with all of the groups as quickly and loudly as possible, be hyperbolic about the perpetrator's cult-like devotion to the evil group's cause even if you're not certain. Headline it over and over, and use the same pejorative buzzwords constantly. Retractions/corrections can come later, in the fine print. It won't do any damage to the lasting memory that we carefully cultivated. 2) Try not to "give faces" to the victims of any violent attacks by our people because it ramps up the amount of tragedy/emotion surrounding the event, and the depth of the emotion dictates the longevity of the incident in peoples' memories and the strength of the association between all groups involved. Again, the exact opposite applies when our chosen people are the victims. Rev up as many heart-wrenching backstories about as many virtuous victims as you can.
