  2. Yeah, this is exactly as I expected. Nobody wants to be accountable for their crazy conspiracy nonsense. And most of you don't learn either. You'll just move on to the next one, like the tent preachers who prepare their flock for the end of the world on an annual basis. It's a shitty way to live, but if you don't put any stock in being a credible person I think the marketplace of ideas will agree with your valuation.

  6. Yes that’s right. These are ideological documents written by international lawyers who aren’t accountable to taxpayers. There’s no question of the many iterations of Indigenous groups displacing each other or the fact that property is mostly a settler idea. I understand respecting land claims for a group that can prove continuous exclusive use of an area, but who today in Canada’s south can claim this? It’s for the courts to consider evidence. I won’t even get into the endless push for reparations after money has already been paid out. Again, such matters must be considered case by case and backed by evidence. Canadian governments have shot themselves in the feet by giving in to every ask. The giving tree is stripped bare to the stump, and it’s working taxpayers footing the bill, many of whom arrived here within a generation or two. ”Climate action” on international agreements will cripple us further. Our weak healthcare system and international pressure from the WHO has violated our constitution and resulted in the Emergencies Act to “keep us safe.” The influence of China and unaccountable international bodies on Canada seems unchecked.

  7. Yeah, I mentioned that incident(or tried to) on page one of this thread. It’s obvious our federal government favours China. Their government kidnapped 2 Canadians and Canada’s response with the Huawei executive incident proves this. And our media soft petals anything to do with both China or our Liberal government. And most Canadians have lost the ability to detect this. Its a sad state of affairs.

  8. I take it that's your reflex towards any criticism of Trump? To me, the deranged people are the ones who admire him. Or really any politician. I've been voting for over forty years and never voted FOR anyone. They're all venal, self-serving incompetents and carpetbaggers and I try to pick the least worst among them The deranged people are the ones who go and watch their speeches and cheer and scream in adulation. Worse are the ones who send them money. Anyone who thinks Trump is in this for the 'common man' has never looked into any aspect of his past and is simply falling for the character he played on that TV show.

  9. Projection. ? If you spent even 1% of the effort you did warping reality around yourself towards questioning the silly garbage you read on 4chan and reddit, your posts would be 99% more reasonable. Yes. Zelensky is well-known to be Jewish. That's what makes calling him a Nazi ridiculous. Are there Nazis in Ukraine? Answering would require you to define what qualifies as a Nazi, which I highly doubt you're prepared to do but I'd love to see you try. The problem you'll have, of course, is that pretty much any definition you come up with would paint the entirety of Russia's higher leadership with that descriptor. Being an anti-Russian Ukrainian nationalist doesn't qualify, nor does displaying Ukrainian national/historical symbols. The symbol Z after all, is known and banned in many places around the world as the "zwastika" - this is what Russia has been painting their vehicles with. ?

Lol the abysmal and biased quality of your “interpretations” are well known Also why do you believe its ok that Republicans to say those things day in and day out since dawn of time but Democrats can’t say them when Republicans publicly vow to reform the voting system so that democrats will never get elected again and a number of Republicans and their donors are open admirers of people who are openly critical of democracy and say America should be run by a monarch?

  12. Yes, the monthly stat is extremely misleading- and deliberately so, because it obscures a crystal clear record of vaccine advantage. Congratulations on establishing what we've known since the first months of the pandemic: healthy young people are dramatically less likely to die than decaying oldies. The vaccines clearly save many lives and greatly reduce risk, but that doesn't mean that they can completely invert the rate of death. You should be impressed that the death rates are what they are- further evidence of vaccine efficacy -but instead you use those numbers to sow FUD and death. Again, even if you don't standardize for age, the vaccines reduce risk of death for the COVID infected by 3x-5x. And it would be much higher in many strata if standardized for age. Bullshit. Comparing young unvaccinated people to vaccinated old people is pure, disingenuous sophistry. Yep, and by that busted logic adding seat belts, airbags and other safety features to card didn't result in even a minor drop in the death toll, so they must not work. Please, let everyone in your misinformation email chains know they should stop buckling and go back to cars from the 50s.

  16. You just wrote it. Seems pretty wordy now, don't it? It has an obvious and easily understandable meaning, and it's quite relevant in our day and age. It's a "word". An example of its proper usage is something like this: "Vaxtards and vax-Nazis valued their Pflacebo above all else. No manner of discrimination against their fellow Canadians was too severe for them. They cheered as people lost their jobs, and they felt no remorse when others caved into the pressure and took the Pflacebo even though they didn't need it, and suffered serious, debilitating side-effects."

  27. It's a good analogy, but its gets really sad at the point at which the analogy falls apart: it's super easy for people to leave the ruined version of Twitter, but considerably more difficult to emigrate from a ruined America. I'm beginning to think we should work out an exchange program. Liberal Americans can move to Canada and the MAGA Canadians can move to the US. Of course, well be bringing the intelligentsia, the tech sector and the entertainment sector with us. They can keep the coal mines and tractor factories.

  28. The entire premise that slow passport processing is totalitarianism is utterly moronic. No one is 'keeping you in' Canada. you're free to leave anytime you want. Some of you should. The problem of getting IN to another country without a passport is their doing, not ours. Hell according to half the people on this board you can just walk across the US border and they'll hand you money, someone else's job and a dozen votes to go with it. The fact you booked your flight and hotel before you even had a passport is your problem, not Ottawa's, fool. Totalitarian states require an exit visa, permission from the government to leave.

  29. first article offers some interesting numbers. Second article is pretty biased and loaded, though it also has some interesting points. family reunification as an immigration policy is dumb (imo). If we’re bringing elderly parents along then there’s no point. You are absolutely right on that. I don’t, but if 30/500 is the ratio we’re obviously netting positive on increased workforce, aren’t we? 470,000 younger immigrants is a large city worth of potential workforce. As I said earlier, we can absolutely have a debate on who we allow to come to Canada, but actually needing people is not really in question, is it? That’s a good post though and does bring up some things that we can actually have a worthwhile conversation about.?

  30. I'm going to stop you right there. Your pants are on fire. The statistic is NOT survival rate after hospitalization. Hospitalization and death are independent of one another. And yes, Vax 1 is the best choice. You've have to functionally illiterate to look electively join one of the groups with 2x+ mortality. If you'd truly rather stay out of the hospital vaccination is BY FAR the right choice. Again, you'd have to be functionally illiterate to see the data and not see the advantage. The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and 47.6% deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths. But I guess rabid partisans would rather choose a significantly higher risk of death than admit that the vaccines are effective. You are just being stupid here. If the outcomes for individuals are better-- and they are conclusively better in recorded, real world data, the yes, obviously the vaccines worked. That's plainly established in the data. All things being equal, the vaccines will move the death count. But we don't have a control group and reality changes year to year. Whatever the death count was in 2022, we KNOW as a fact that it would have been significantly higher without the vaccines. We know this because we have the data on efficacy at the individual level. Again, the shitty reasoning you are applying is the exact same as looking at traffic fatalities which climb year after year and concluding that seatbelts and airbags don't work. "If they saved lives, why is the fatality count going up?" you'd say. -- But clearly that's not logical reasoning. We know they work. We can see that they reduce the fatality rate of each individual accident. So without those mitigating safety measures we KNOW that the total count would by much higher. Even though the total death counts are (coincidentally) similar year to year we can see mathematically that they would be significantly higher without vaccines, seat belts or airbags. No, you do not have that straight. Vaccines don't "allow" more people to get sick. And the vaccines greatly reducing the chances of serious illness and death aren't theoretical, but rather tracked and recorded facts. Vaccines do reduce transmission, but even if you ignored that entirely (as you have) it should be obvious that saving a lot of lives is a desirable outcome. No, again, this is a misrepresentation. Hospitalization and death are correlated but independent. You can die of COVID at home without ever going to a hospital. -- And if you're unvaccinated that's considerably more likely. ? But beyond that, YES, significantly lowering the number of deaths per case is pretty freaking awesome. Just like lowering the number of fatalities per accident. No. That's both logically stupid and mathematically inaccurate. Being vaccinated decreases your likelihood of being hospitalized and decreases your likelihood of dying. Again (because maybe someday it will get through your thick skull) The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and 47.6% deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths. No. False. Look at the age distributions for both death and vaccination. Children-->40s are already at very low risk of death. and children-->30s make up the bulk of the unvaxxed. So the unvaxxed cohort in total is at much lower risk of death AND STILL managed to be overrepresented in the death outcome. That how effective the vaccines are. The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and 47.6% deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths. It's not the exact same COVID and not the exact same circumstances. It would be mathematically impossible for that to be the case. You literally cannot increase individual survival without also reducing the total number of deaths under the exact same circumstances. -- I think we can acutally agree on that. the problem for you is that we have documented proof that the vaccines increase survival. You're just choosing to disregard the reality of the math rather than admit that conditions were therefore necessarily different. Yes, the unvaccinated have no survival advantage over a tinfoil hat. And unvaccinated people don't have the same outcomes as vaccinated people. So stop saying it. The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and 47.6% deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths. You don't like that the same number of people are mourning, but as you try to convince people to NOT get vaccinated you are creating MORE mourners. That's the inescapable mathematical truth of the situation. We have the data. Vaccines save lives. And you don't want people to take them. The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and 47.6% deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths.

  41. The dysfunctional blame-game continues in Russia's military, with at least two more top commanding generals in Ukraine having been replaced in the last couple of weeks. https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-commander--chaiko-replaced-lyman/32070361.html We should make a bingo board with all of Russia's brass and mark off when each of them get blamed and then fired for the disaster they were thrown into. What are we at now? 10 top commanders and counting (not counting the ones who died pointlessly on the front lines where they should have never been)? If we use a sports analogy, eventually it no longer makes sense to keep blaming the coaches you're firing over and over. Reality sets in and it becomes clear that the general manager and the circumstances and team he's assembled are the problem.

  43. Holy crap. I'm going to award you some kind of trophy, because I've never seen so much wrong crammed into 3 lines. 1. The M1 exploded in early 2020, under Trump, a year before Biden took office 2. The money supply is primarily controlled by the Federal Reserve, which operates independent of the federal government (and the current chair Powell was originally nominated by Trump). Regardless of who is in office, the POTUS is not the primary driver M1. 3. The M1 explosion was deliberate, in response to challenges of the pandemic, with every expectation that inflation would follow. 4. It's not just the US. Central banks around the world turned to loose money to cope with the pandemic. FRED You have not taken Econ 101, but it'd be a really good idea.

If you question any aspect of the election, you're an election denying criminal and will be dealt with by the state.
