  1. Thanks captain oblivios War measures act is being used against those who were prosecuted, as it now means they have committed a federal offence. That’s why they can be ordered to languish in perpetuity in a Canadian gulag.

  3. Tucker Carlson is reporting that the law firm Perkins Coie has had a special relationship with the FBI since 2012. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2022/06/01/gaetz_democratic_party-aligned_law_firm_perkins_coie_is_sharing_a_workspace_with_the_fbi.html For those of you who don't know, a lawyer from Perkins Coie named Michael Sussman was one of the people who presented bogus Russian disinformation to the the FBI on behalf of Hillary Clinton, and the fact that he didn't disclose his relationship with Hillary to the FBI at the time he presented the bogus intel resulted in charges against him. The "intel" was the story about a secure communications channel between the Trump team and Russia's Alfa Bank, which is now considered to be a fabrication. Somehow Sussman was found not guilty of failing to disclose his relationship to them, although there are records showing that he billed Hillary for his work on the Alfa Bank disinformation. Why does the FBI have such a special relationship with a private law firm which has such close ties to the Clintons and the DNC? If you're keeping score, the FBI shares a workspace with a private law firm that received $42M from the DNC, and the FBI ran a public smear campaign for the DNC against a duly elected Republican president while using bogus intel from that law firm. Isn't that how a Deep State operates?

  4. No, all you needed to do is take the opportunity of getting vaccianted, not just for your own sake, but to save the lives of others. How can a rational person refuse to get vaccinated in the middle of a deadly pandemic? Refusing a life saving measure is not rational. When the vaccine was first coming out, some people were willing to do anything to get vaccinated, from flying up to the Yukon to jump the que to going to the US to get vaccinated. Nobody's right to protest legally was taken away. Nobody has a right to break the law.

  5. The transgender movement has moved with lightning speed amid ferocious hostility towards anyone who stands in its path. It increasingly demands more accommodation, largely at the expense of women, demands men who are 100% physically and biologically male, and have no medical or psychological evidence to the contrary, be considered 100% female. No proof is needed or necessary, and anyone who suggests that such 'women' not be allowed into womens changing rooms, bathrooms, or showers, is merely a hatemonger and bigot who needs to be relentlessly attacked. In days of old, when you could say "Men are not women" and not be accused of hate speech and bigotry. https://heavy.com/news/2018/11/meghan-murphy/ When women got to compete against each other in sports, and didn't have to compete against men who simply claimed they were women. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/transgender-woman-track-cycling-1.4863381 When no one ever gave a thought to the idea that male rapists should be sent to womens prisons. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6169813/Rapist-Karen-Whites-ex-girlfriend-says-gender-change-sham.html

  6. There has been many war crimes by Russia in Ukraine including Russian Army deliberately targeting and bombing civilians in which thousands of civilians have been murdered by Putin's invasion and likely by his order but the latest is a massacre in the town of Bucha in which dead civilians murdered by retreating Russian army lying in the streets is most disturbing. https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-europe-60949706 In addition, women have been found naked and raped by Russian soldiers in other towns and cities . https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/russia-sexual-violence-reports-ukraine-b2049034.html These are clear war crimes committed by Russia and under Putin's command deserve full punishment. Putin himself and his entire government and generals and those soldiers committing these crimes in Europe in 21st century must be found guilty and I hope their crimes will be punishable by death.

Now he wants to ban handguns and TOYS that look like handguns. I wonder if he thinks this will actually reduce their use by the criminals who use them? Is he really this stupid? Even the CBC agrees this proposal wouldn't help as most handgun violence is done by people with illegal guns. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/fact-check-gun-violence-1.6166328 Just one more swing and a miss by the little girl in our PM's office.

  9. It is shameful that the NRA is holding it's convention in Texas a few days after the massacre of 19 children and 2 teachers at the school in Uvalde, Texas. And it is equally deplorable that Trump is scheduled to make an appearance at the NRA convention. Many Americans still don't get it that the widespread number of guns and the easy availability of assault rifles is killing countless Americans. The 18 year old suspect that killed all the children and teachers could not go into a bar to buy liquor, but he could easily go into a gun shop and buy two AR-15 assault rifles and ammunition. Madness. Americans reportedly own 900 million guns in the population of 337 million people. Total insanity.

  11. It seems like "B-level movie material" right now, but.... -did you ever think that you'd see police officers in Canada holding a man down and ruthlessly beating him after he surrendered peacefully, when his only crime was protesting peacefully? -did you ever think that a PM and a majority of MPs would support such a drastic overreach of power that the Senate would suddenly have to make themselves useful? It's like a Golden Retriever that jumps up to attack a bad guy after just licking people and jumping up on them for 100 years. -did you ever expect to see a PM call 15% of the population racists and misogynists just because they refused a controversial medical treatment? -did you ever expect that our mainstream media would back a bigoted rant from our own PM? What I wrote looks like "B-movie material" because our country is a treasure trove of B-movie material right now.

  12. I asked because when you look up the emergency measures act it does not list specific crimes or charges that can be laid. So in reality, once the act was invoked all criminal charges would have been under the act itself. In today's world and the size of the Ottawa police force, one would be surprised they did not have drones. but recently the use of military drones has been the topic of heated discussion in parliament, with the liberals saying it was a coincidence that military drones were in the area, "over the convoy". But I'm pretty sure parliament airspace is restricted, so special permission would have to be sought. meaning the liberals would have known of the drone and the reason for it...

  13. Prime Minister Trudeau recommended the War Measures Act be invoked at the request of Premier Bourassa. The kidnapping of Mr. Cross and Minister LaPorte by the FLQ fulfilled the definition of an "apprehended insurrection." Unlike the Emergencies Act, the War Measures Act suspended civil liberties. Years later, it was pointed out to Prime Minister Trudeau that, had he not been Prime Minister at the time, he would have been one of the people arrested under the War Measures Act. To which he replied, "Yah, but I wouldn't have bitched about it."

  14. I'm not a lawyer, but the Proceeds of Crime could be one reason for the freezing (not seizing) bank accounts. I suspect any surveillance drones would have been police, used to monitor the situation and gather evidence should that be required. As far as I know, the military were not involved in anything to do with the occupation. The Ottawa Police did not have sufficient manpower or resources and that was one reason for the request made to the Federal Government to proclaim the Emergency Act, in order to expedidte reinforcements from Police services from across the nation. The proclaimation gave the authorities something more in the tool box if things started to go pear-shaped. Let's wait and see what comes out of the review to get more accurate information.

  16. Not really, look at a weed, it may have cut in with organized crime's bottom end, but they are still making twice the amount that the government makes. Perhaps if they undercut the price the gangs were charging they might have captured more clients. But it is more convenient to buy off the street than to find a government store in your area, which have major problems with keeping up supply, and quality. The government is just another gang in different colors, who wanted more revenue, but really sucks at the business level.

  18. War Measures Act is not the same as Emergencies Measures Act. The Emergencies Measures Act has been in existence since 1988. While invoked, it was never used during the truckers debacle. The threat of use is what scared the truckers off and the ones insisting it was used, they are very wrong. Using proper terminology is important if one is trying to make a point and be credible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergencies_Act

  20. I'm 'liberal' but agree in part. The vast majority of people on the Left are still from discrete cultures OTHER THAN the caucation 'majority' who are themselves just as biased in their thinking. Racism and Sexism are always defined as belonging to all others but those accusing. The majority everywhere prefers some right to pass on inheritance to their loved one's which includes their ideals they hope to pass on regarding things most especially surrounding their ethnicity and/or religion. As such, when we do well, we pass on FAVOR to our own children and whichever pool of dominant 'culture' we personally place on a pedestal. This 'nepotism' is the beginning of what BECOMES the biases we do not normally reflect of ourselves. We also oppositely believe in NOT passing on inheritance of DEBT. Instead, this gets passed on to the general population. These two 'heritage' factors set the stage. When you succeed, you would prefer to pass on your gains to your loved ones' while preventing the passings-on of those things and behaviors not desired (collectively, our 'debts'). So the next generations who have better parental success will repeat the pattern. Eventually, a pool of concentration of wealth will tend to favor some races/sexes over others until some large imbalance of representation exists. The same but opposite effect occurs to those who fail. Their children DEFAULT to inherit an ABSENCE of power which then in direct opposition to the wealthy, will eventually concentrate those races or sexes in common to a DEFICIT that will eventually explode if there exists no means for them to get ahead in the same way. As such, those with the strongest 'pride' in their own who excludes things like intermarriage, will become 'racist' and 'sexist' but with an apparent absense of DIRECT abuse towards outsiders because they don't NEED to. On the other end, the impoverished masses who get LEFT OUT will push back but being already on the losing end, they will tend to be NOTICED more for their behaviors given they are going to be inevitably less friendly. Since we live in a relatively richer country, it is hard to notice how our nepotism contributes to racism/sexism (systemically) and why I think you may not notice it as existing. To obvious poorer communities who will favor those parties that lean 'left', they will appear to be making a fuss where none exist but often ignore the problem as due to 'poverty' and not necessarily race. As such, they too contribute to being racist and sexist where they suddenly get attention and interpret their condition as having an INTENTIONAL (non-systemic) cause. Both contribute but only those at the top have the power to change things IN PEACE. But they want to 'conserve' their right to KEEP what they have with the continuing 'right' to distinctly pass on beneficial inheritance onto their OWN kinds. Some will reflect on their own contributing causes but still do not want to lose their right to pass on their OWN cultures. As such, they will tend to be 'apogetic' for a whole race/sex UNWARRANTED but are doing this so that they do not feel compelled to literally give UP their own inherited power. By extending their own 'wealth' class to the dominant race they have, they conserve their power while the poorer OF their race are the ones' who will take the weight of debt when they get denied the same reparations or government aides that get 'inherited' to all others of the minority of the poor. Thus, you get the angry backlash of those whites who also happen to be poor regardless of what they do. Those with the ACTUAL hate there will get the notice of the Left even if they are non-representative of the whole. So the real reason is about haves and have-nots, and how we today still believe that we should have the independent right to pass on our beneficial inheritance to those of our choosing while the poor are forced to inherit both their LACK of wealth PLUS any burdens of the 'debts' that even rich people contribute for NOT requiring to pass on those debts. Note that in most times, "inheritance" was assumed to include debts. So if your brother, say, caused a debt, you as his brother might 'inherit' that debt. While unfair, it actually respected the meaning of 'inheritance' fairly by MEANING. Today, we grant the rich an accellerating power where weallth generate multiple powers of wealth. We also permitted means of hiding or passing on debts by the wealth through corporate laws that permit them to never lose anything but their present investment. This 'limits their liability' to the investment. To me, the solution requires creating more limits to corporate protections as well as preventing independent rights of one to pass on benefits to those they personally favor through inheritance. We also need to expose how religion gets used as some virtuous 'right' that enables one to excuse why they have some sovereign right to KEEP their power to selective inheritance. Our "Multiculturalism (TM)" is used this way. While it is a "leftist" ideal, the dominance of the 'conservative' GROUPS, defined in terms of one's ethnicity or heritage, dominates and rules equally on the "right" by default of coinciding rights of inheritance. These clearcut groupings frame the smallest minority as some GROUP and their associated cultures leaving out the independent individuals of all racial backgrounds who don't conform to some steretype. So you get the 'white (and male)' racists on the right, but most of the others hidden within the 'mosaic' groupings dominating the 'left'. We need to clearly separate both 'culture' as well as religion in govnernment, abolish rights of personal inheritance beyond sentimentals, provide social supports for those suffering most, and cap wealth. [I doubt this will occur and it may be impossible given our normal evolutionary instincts to conserve.]

  21. It would be great if the world could get rid of all its gun problems, and nuclear weapons, and other bad stuff. But these days it's more like the opposite is happening. While the PM poses for another magazine cover shot and portrays himself as a gutsy problem-solver, all he's done is forced the hand of people who are already law-abiding and can do nothing but cooperate. Big clap on the back there, Justin. Meanwhile today we see headlines like "Motorcycle gang memberships surging to historic levels across Canada". Does Mr. Trudeau think these people could care less about his frivolous new gun bill? They don't give a hootin. They will continue to provide guns on the black market if they damn well want to.

  22. Every Canadian has a Charter right to leave their country and return to their country. Only the items they bring into the country can be denied, not they themselves. If you had no luggage, as far as I know as long as you prove your identity and citizenship status (via your passport or whatnot) you don't have to answer any questions from Canadian border officials because of these rights. Just like you don't have to answer any questions from cops. During the pandemic i could see the questions on this app being necessary but at this point I think we're good, and no need of it from mid-May until the fall when COVID cases are so low. For the Liberal Party, for some reason the Charter is so often inconvenient to them, they clearly either don't understand it or don't respect it. They definitely have little respect for the privacy of Canadians.

  24. Plus, there is no question that legalization encourages many to try the substance, which would not have done so otherwise. The same may happen if they legalize narcotics. I doubt these methods will prove beneficial in the long run. More like, rampant addiction Not sure why this is discussed in a gun thread though. —— A gun is a tool, and much like other tools can be used to kill. The real question is, why is there an increasing compulsion in society to want to kill in most spectacular and shocking fashion. —— Toy guns is one thing but look-alike replicas, well, use at your own peril it seems. On the other hand we heard about a man shot in Toronto the day after the Texas shooting, and reports were that he was brandishing a pellet gun. Witnesses reported seeing a body covered in a tarp, and a pellet gun on the ground nearby that was too small looking to be real. Media has gone silent on this police shooting. I would expect officers to at least be trained to know the difference.

  25. BTW I continue to be baffled by the way you and yours play with definitions. What you call "Rationality" seems to depend on whether one agrees or disagrees with nutty "Prog Logic." I'll give you an example. You want to build your argument on a foundation of "Boo Hoo 20,000 innocents" then later it becomes convenient for you reimagine the consequences of your stat by telling us "97% of people murdered every year are criminal in nature and suicide." Now myself when I think of the gang wars in the "Progressive" run municipalities of say Chicago, Baltimore or St. Louis "Innocents" is not the word that screams out to me. Then I remember how suicides sky rocketed during the Prog-adored lockdowns and mandates of the pandemic and were rising even before that as Progressives gained more societal power I'm no longer sure it's true innocents that are being killed and even it is I can point a different finger than guns at what you and yours used to call "root causes" when it was convenient to avoid obvious causes that didn't jive with the Prog narrative.

  27. They tried to get election reform through but it was blocked by the NDP. Something like that requires all party buy in. The NDP refused to accept any viable reform. Unless the Liberals were willing to use their majority like a dictatorship to impose reform on another major party, there was no way. If they had done that, they would be dictators. The gun regualations have a signifigant public support but not all party support. Time will tell if this legislation will actually pass. There is now provincial opposition from Saskatchewan. We may see more from other provinces. There are more checks and balances than are written in your plays, dear Horatio. In 2025, the grits will go into the election able to say they tried and all the people who were going to vote Liberal anyway, will vote Liberal, and all the people who were going to vote Conservative anyway, will vote Conservative. If Pierre Poilievre is the Conservative leader, Justin Trudeau will be Prime Minister forever.

  29. I never said the gun worshipers are sane. Statistically speaking the far more likely result of your purchases will be that the burglars in your neighbourhood will soon be in possession of a new pellet gun and hunting rifles. The odds of your pellet gun and hunting rifles transforming you into a family of crime-fighting superheroes are unfortunately very slim. So your sons are going to start walking around the streets carrying hunting rifles now? That’s not going to work out well for them you know that right? Its highly illegal and a great way to get shot by police. Plus some thug will probably just jump him from behind when he’s not expecting it and beat him up and take it before he even has a chance to unsling it from his shoulder. As usual your comments are just unrealistic dumbass fantasies that are neither sensible nor rational. And people should not care about others getting mugged if the mugging victims are not gun enthusiasts? More of your idiotic blather This is the type of fascist attitude I’m talking about: CRUELTY FOR THE HATED ONES is a cornerstone of fascist ideology. Even though you sound like a grade A asshole I would still care if you got mugged, so would most people Fascists are the ones who go out of their way to celebrate and rejoice in the misery and pain of people and groups they hate

  30. There is no justification for putting up symbols in schools advocating for certain sexual lifestyles. There are many ways to show compassion towards students who feel marginalized because of their sexual orientation and/or identity. Hanging gay pride flags outside schools is advocating for certain sexual lifestyles. There’s no way to avoid this interpretation. Most children can’t make the kinds of nuanced interpretations that Hardner is making. I’m not sure what’s happening in other provinces, but the government of Ontario is allowing the grooming of young children in certain sexual behaviours when it allows the flying of LGBTQ+ flags outside schools.
