You don't think the problem of government involvement in funding media outlets is as much a problem as I do in light of the amount of money being doled out under the concern to prevent "fake news". I don't have trust or confidence in government, I believe it is inherently dysfunctional and needs to be "helped" into a position where it does something useful. Otherwise we are governed at our own peril. Interestingly despite that I don't see the media quite as polarized as you do. Sun and National Post are "liberal haters", etc. They are all haters of one thing or another at times, but they share a common need and love- for money. There are plenty of articles on the Sun that wholeheartedly support the Liberal govt's messaging. Including the guy who wants to shut down schools, vaccinate kids, punish the non-vaccinated. Yup. We don’t need to worry about what can’t be proven today to point out our reality, which is that much of the developed world is living under an extreme and unprecedented house arrest. The infringement of personal liberties is so widespread and pervasive that only people who have been heavily conditioned could accept what is taking place as in any way normal. Do I think that the conditioning is being directed by some evil genius or cabal behind the scenes? Our Canadian government is unable to see it or fight it. Almost all of Europe, South America, Asia, and half of the US refuses to overturn de facto totalitarianism. Where do we go from here? I can only point to the few jurisdictions where mandates and restrictions don’t exist or are minimal and Covid is being managed for what it is, an endemic disease that we must learn to manage without losing most of the aspects of our existence that we value: the ability to see each other, gather with family and friends, go out and travel unrestricted and meet new people face to face, sing, dance, play and watch sports, learn together, be in clubs and associations, celebrate our faiths together, celebrate holidays together, and so much else that has been simply removed from our lives without clear and ample justification. I agree and have advocated for this detail of numbers since I started watching the UK numbers six months ago. They have excluded those people for months now and we are still including them...why? So on one end you say the statistics are trash but then go on to use those stats to make a claim? If the numbers are trash then they are trash until they get rectified. By the way, your claim of 50% above is simply not true. Here the actual numbers of unvaccinated people in the hospitals is 26.6%. If you add up the partially vaxxed and the kids under 5 (who can't get vaccinated) then its 31.4%. Right now, out of 6389 people hospitalized, there are 4378 that are fully vaxxed (68.5%). Considering 78% of all people in Quebec have been fully vaccinated, there isn't a huge difference. Keep in mind, the percent of vaxxed in hospitals keep growing. Now...if you want to specifically discuss ICU and not just hospitalization, then you are closer to your 50% number however still a bit off. According to the data, 55.3% of ICU are people that are fully vaxxed.
