What I would suggest you do, rather than wearing a poppy for one day on behalf of the Legion, is support your local regiment. There are young soldiers serving you right now, they're just kids, but they would kill and die for you, so go and get to know them, embrace your regiments and your history. The government doesn't care, the government is destroying the military, these troops are being stabbed in the back by the politicians, so stand up for them, don't let it happen.3 points

I think it's important to note that not ALL Muslims disagree with Bill 21. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/fatah-why-some-canadian-muslims-celebrated-the-quebec-hijab-ban#comments https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/fatah-quebec-leads-the-rest-of-canada-with-religious-symbols-ban This is from the articles: You're not defending a sacred religious right - you are defending an Islamist symbol and we all know what their aims are. You call that witty? That's dumb. Cancer patients are not promoting an Islamist agenda by wearing something on their bald heads when they lose their hair. Same with those who think a winter touque = hijab. Idiots.2 points

I thank you for your kind consideration, although it was my honour and privilege to serve Her Majesty and the regiment. That being said, the men who sacrificed are the fallen and the maimed, they are the ones who paid the price. As for a poppy, I will never wear one again, they fired Don Cherry on Remembrance Day and the Legion threw him under the bus, they can keep their poppies, I don't want one. The best advocate the Legion ever had, and they stabbed him in the back to appease a bunch of Pinkos as Grapes would say, the Legion is dead to me.2 points

Have no concern for me, I received a sizable inheritance from my American grandparents, I am set for life. I simply reject the assertion that I am a whiner, I have always borne hardship gladly on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, Elizabeth Windsor. I am not wounded, I am not maimed, take care of the young soldiers who are serving you now, they are the lambs who are being led to the slaughter.1 point

Then why is anyone discussing "Trump" in a thread about Andrew Scheer resigning in Canada ?1 point

Well then we're all good and i'm glad about that. I'm glad i understand your contempt a bit more. I don't like the Liberals and never have. Liberal PM's typically have come from Quebec, to appease the Quebecois voters. Many Quebecois don't care about a Canadian identity either, only Quebec identity. Multi-cultural state, now a post-national state. I don't have any problem with the Quebec people, we're all brothers and sisters, they have a culture they want to protect, but so do I and so does Canada as a whole.1 point

Of course that's why they were leaving. I'm agreeing with you but I'm wrong. Why on Earth do you insist on being so stupid about this? I'll tell you why, it's because your belief in the existence of a Deep-State is making you retarded. An even better question would have been to ask why so many other members didn't leave or question their leadership. Maybe the Conservative Party needs a Deep-State of its own so it can start countering the advances of the Liberal Party's Deep-State. What do you think?1 point

Unfortunately sometimes Michael has a tendency to deny or downplay issues or subjects he feels are unworthy of attention.1 point

You were wrong, and people were leaving the party for no other reason than Justin Trudeau's behaviour. If that's not reason enough for the CBC to raise the question of whether or not the Liberal party needs a leadership change then nothing is.1 point

You seem very emotional in your arguments, I feel bad for you, really. Biden's son had no qualification to be on the board of an energy company. He had no qualification to get 50k/month on this board. Biden threatened Ukraine, he admitted it in front of cameras.1 point

Are right-wingers really this oblivious to just how embarrassingly ridiculous their preoccupation with Deep-State conspiracies makes them look and how badly it messes up their ability to think straight? I guess we can thank Trump for making this normal.1 point

It would be a good thing for Canada in my opinion, but it would not be able to pass in some Provinces as there are concentrations of people that think that their religious beliefs may infringe on other people's rights to have a neutral government when it comes to religion, because these people want their religion to be the State's religion, and they adamantly believe it is their right to push their proselytism, and is even one of their religious duties in their opinion.1 point

1. Didn't YOU say this: I asked for a link and I suppose you just forgot right ? 2. Of course they don't do this... for ANY leader. "They" ie. the CBC don't take editorial stances. And I guess I could ask for a link from you and hope 3rd time is the charm but maybe I'll just go away and mark you up as a poster who posts shit out of his head and doesn't need to back it up. So fascinating for us too...1 point

On the day that Scheer decided to quit is leadership job with the conservative party, conservative Boris Johnson won his Brexit election. So, both America and Britain now have a conservative party running both countries, while Canada once again, has a leftist liberal globalist party back in power. While Americans and Britons will be eating steak tonight at some fancy restaurant, Canadians will have to settle for a Big Mac at McDonald's for dinner tonight. Hey, Big Macs are now selling for $3.00 today at McDumps. Yummy good!1 point

That's even stretching it, Canadian "Conservatives" are really socialists by Republican standards.1 point
-
Scheer did not lose because he happened to be an American citizen. IMHO, he lost the election because he was a) stupid and b) not a people person. ===== I reckon that Putin and Trump are on to a key idea: These leaders want to defend/help/protect the people who "elect" them.1 point

That's right just as reported day in and day out by the very same Media-Party/Deep State you're convinced is working for Trudeau.1 point
-
This is 1972, but Trudeau Jnr is not facing Stanfield (Scheer has resigned) in 1974. Heck, this is not Trudeau Snr. The federal Liberals have Margaret for the next election. ----- On a much more serious point, I reckon that a few more voters will soon realize that the success of Canada is not based on the name "Trudeau" or the brand "Liberal". Canada works well because of ordinary Canadians.1 point

I also have seven buddies from the army who went on to become cops, five Toronto, one OPP and a Mountie. I've gone drinking with cops many times, I've heard all the stories from the other side, it's just like the army, they take care of each other, they don't give a shit about civilians. They are gung-ho to bust people, sure, but that includes you, make no mistake. When you are a soldier or a cop, you are adversarial to the civilian population, that's just the nature of being an armed agent for the state. Civilians who are eager to spend more on either the military or police, are patently naive. When you are a soldier or a cop, first thing you come to understand is that the government fears its own people most of all. The political class in Canada is utterly corrupt and above the law, that corrupts everything else, particularly the police and the courts1 point

I have wealthy white male privilege, so the police don't target me, none the less, I don't trust them at all. I don't cooperate with them, if they take me into custody, I'll say nothing and just call my lawyers. SERE : Survival Evasion Resistance Extraction.1 point

OMG... more media conspiracies... isn't this the kind of embarrassing superstition that produces Berniers. I think the conservatives' worst nightmare is that they are likely to nominate someone that I will vote for next time around. And then the nut vote can go into Bernier's open arms ... and push him over that magical 2% mark. That's apt because is kind of like a medium-fat white milk at this point1 point

Maybe thats is what should happen, stop taking oil out of the ground ,stop importing it, stop producing it just for a month....and whom ever is left alive in the country can turn the taps back on, betcha there would be no whining then of course we could always burn tree huggers to keep warm, their full of mostly shit and hot air, so they burn fast... .1 point

You are engaging in a similar defective argument people make defending Trump. You try deflect from the issue of Muslim extremism by raising criticism of Western states' foreign policies and/or human rights records. Using you argument, no one can challenge or criticize Muslim extremism because non Muslim extremists in your opinion are or have been equally as bad. That is illogical. One person being evil does not make another less evil. It simply makes them both evil. If you want to challenge Canada or the US as being evil, start a thread. To use that as a rationalization to avoid challenging Muslim fundamentalist extremism that leads to violence is not logical and as I said it is a deflection and a very obvious one at that. Oy my apostate hurts. I need some more zinc. Getting back to the issue, it was wrong to have the National Assembly of Quebec pass a law preventing religious attire in public service and leave a large cross on the wall of the assembly. That was hypocritical. It sent the wrong message. Separating religion and state requires a consistent approach.1 point

Maybe when conservatives figure out how to turn things on their head by taking credit for raising the alarm about climate change and finding a way to blame lefties for causing it. So what if pipelines are safer than rail. It's the fossil fuels they're carrying that's at issue. The problem is that they're not being left in the ground. In any case, with the new awareness dawning on conservatives that trade to China should be tied to human rights why the rush to get oil to tidewater?1 point

Let's see, western countries are taking in tens of thousands of immigrants every year, both legal and illegal, but people want blame anti-vaxxers even though nobody can actually cite any real people that are anti-vaccines, even the articles linked to don't actually mention any real people that are associated with that. It's probably 0.01% of the population.1 point

https://globalnews.ca/news/3848065/case-of-diphtheria-confirmed-at-edmonton-elementary-school/ Diptheria in Edmonton. These diseases are all making a comeback thanks to anti-vaxxers. I think we have all forgotten how terrible these diseases were and how many people they killed. My friend posted this article on her facebook page because she has a child in kindergarten at the school and a newborn at home who is too young to be vaccinated for diptheria yet.1 point
