Most prosecutors ask for max sentencing in all cases and the judge or jury decide what punishment they get.

What are the chances of that happening even once? How does the trailing party manage to narrow a gap that was so large, and so consistent, for so long, in such a short period of time, without a massive October surprise? How does it happen with metronome consistency, in two countries, for a dozen years? Three trump elections plus I don't even know how many elections here since 2015.

Conservatives in NA are apparently like a Rocky movie that repeats itself every 4 years: the good guys are getting pummelled in every round and then suddenly make a comeback in the last 20 seconds of the final round.

It isn't a small thing that the MSM was branding the whole Freedom Convoy as a bunch of angry racists flying a sea of swastikas and Confederate Flags, and you pretended to have seen all the flags for months: that whole narrative was a lie.

You also pretended that Trudeau didn't call all the unvaxed racists and misogynists, or at least pretended that it wasn't a big deal, and it was f'ing outrageous.

Lich is charged with mischief.  They illegally parked and were a public noise nuisance contrary to local city bylaws.

They also blocked a bridge by illegally parking, which is illegal but no different than aboriginal protestors who blocked federal railways by parking trucks on them.  But the cases for the aboriginals were not pursued yet they want 7 years on Lich and have been clearly throwing the book at the woman.

People should not be treated differently by the government and justice system based on their race, partisan leanings etc.  This is a fundamental aspect of a liberal democracy that we've been fighting for over centuries.  For those that think this applies to some races and partisan leanings and not others it means they're racist and politically biased.  I don't defend what Lich did, but if she were indigenous and a lefty she would be treated differently by the Crown and justice system.

No one was forced to get a the vaccine. 

The issue at hand with the trucker convoy is that people crossing the border need the vaccine. The US had this policy too. In fact all developed nations except, I guess Sweden, had vax policies for international travelers. So I'm not sure what your issue with Canada specifically here is? 

Now Canada, and Ontario in particular, had pretty drastic restrictions for unvaxed people. But that's not what this was about. And those issues weren't the responsibility of the federal government.

Also, anyone who was paying attention would have figured out that by January 2022, the pandemic was winding down, precisely because there were high vax numbers.

I think people in public health during a global pandemic should have gotten the vaccine. If not simply to protect themselves from getting sick. 

Again, none of that is why the Convoy happened. There was a reason truckers were behind it. 

It wasn't until October 2022 that Canada stopped need Proof of Vaccine for people entering the country. 

Why should truckers have been exempt?
