Trump has proven that he will literally pick fights with anyone he perceives of standing in his way, regardless of political affiliation.

Hey, as the say "my way or the highway" and Trumps highway is waaay bigger than ours.

My hope is that PP won't say anything to pi$$ him off and end up being disliked like Trudeau is all these years. Trudeau tried to pick a fight with Trump years ago and it came back to bite him in the ass and Trump now has all the power. PP has to play nice.

What he wanted to achieve is pretty clear and typical of clueless bullies: to make an example of presumably, weaker and more dependent members of the community so that the rest would fall in line whenever he points his fat finger to. The stupid gamble misfired big deal and straight into the std face, as below

I don't even think Trudeau tried to pick a fight.  He was just too dumb and too out-of-touch to avoid getting himself in one.  He thought he could be the cool kid at the party and make fun of Trump with the other leaders behind his back.

Oopsy.  There are mics everywhere.  Imagine that.

Unless PP turns out to be a dictator, who takes away our rights and freedoms, and rules with an iron fist, I am sure he will run a foul of Trump. Trump only respects fellow "strongmen" like Orban, Putin, Kim Jung Un, etc. His brain cannot comprehend why people would do anything to help people, or want to make the World a better place.

Ha ha, true.  He’s changed the Republicans into the workers’ and entrepreneur party.  The Dems are the coastal elites and establishment.  Funny how platforms can flip.

imagine if you transported the Liberal Party of Canada from the 1970's into this day

who would Pierre Elliot Trudeau side with ?

Brian Mulroney's Neoliberal Globalist Free Trade ?

Canada being totally dependant upon and at the mercy of the Americans ?

all Canadian institutions dissolving themselves into irrelevance ?

the majority of Canadians actually embracing defunding the CBC ?

the Crown Corporations privatized for all intents and purposes ?

Public healthcare spiralling into collapse ?

Public universities become totally dependant upon foreign students to prop them up ?

Canada's once civil society overrun by violent chaos & disorder in the streets ?

almost half of Canadians under forty embracing becoming the 51st State ?

methinks he would invoke the War Measures Act, same as Trump is doing

I don't think going toe to toe or threats are the answer. I think securing our border can only help us on both side with stuff coming in and out.

There's little/nothing to secure.  The amount of fentanyl that's been seized crossing the Canada/US border over the last couple of years could fit in the backseat of my car.

Trump is bogeymanning a non-issue.

Another win is that Trudeau looked like a great statesman who defended Canada when it needed defending, while Polievre looked weak and in Trump’s pocket. Justin’s legacy is secure with real Canadians and MAGAcanada look like traitors. Win win win win win. 😂

I prefer to judge a politician by their accomplishments and not by their platitudes. I couldn't care less if one was a mean, nasty, bastard like Trump...  it's their accomplishments that makes the politician stand out.

They just got rid of the worker safety laws. They don't care about workers. Ask Elon what he expects of workers. It's worse than feudalism.

And yet it was still more appealing to people than going further to the woke with a democrats.

Turns out people would rather have a job with a tough boss then no job because they don't have the right skin color to qualify for a Dei hire

Guy, the 40 odd pounds of fentanyl they've seized at their northern border is chump change compared to the twenty-one thousand pounds they've seized at their south. Then there's the people. A few thousand to the north, hundreds of thousands to the south.

Now let's look at it from the other direction. If we're at fault and need to improve then what about the Americans? Thousands and thousands of kg of narcotics are seized by CBSA at the border last year headed into Canada from the US. Not to mention thousands of firearms.

And as you know, migrants travel to the US just to come to our border and cross it. Tens of thousands did that all through Trump's first term and he couldn't have cared less. Biden signed the safe 3rd country agreement but I have a feeling the moment someone tells Trump about it he'll cancel it.

Why isn't the US doing better at stopping these drugs, guns and people from entering Canada? By his own reckoning, it's HIS responsibility.

I believe the reasoning is that once the southern border is sealed off the cartels will need new channels to funnel the fentanyl into the U.S.  The Canada/U.S. border is the next logical choice since the cartels are already operating in Canada producing the stuff for export. And why should Trump have stopped the migrant flow from coming into Canada when Trudeau invited them in?

I got an old army buddy who is OPP Asian Crimes Unit now

he says the Chinese are the biggest mafia in Canada by far, nobody else even comes close

the Mexican drug cartels are only their proxies, subcontractors

Canada is more of a hub for organized crime than Mexico is

it's just organized crime at the state run geopolitical level, backed up by the Chinese Communist Party

so far above the streets that it is invisible

Chinese gangsters don't sell on the street, they buy politicians in Ottawa

Why wouldn't any politician want to help people or make the world a better place? What they disagree on is the best way of doing it. In the Polievre/Peterson interview, Polievre came right out and said he would protect the rights and freedoms of all Canadians (may be paraphrasing a bit here). It's very rarely you hear anyone on the left uttering those words. With them it's all democracy democracy democracy which isn't quite the same thing.

Oh FFS make uo more lies for that senile fart in the White House to spout.

Let's just let the absolute fools who think he won sick shit. Mexico agreed to send 10,000 troops to the border back in 2021 but restating that is a HUGE win. Canada started upping border security months ago but that can be a HUIGE BEUTIFUL WIN for the demented old fool.
No country on Earth still thinks the USA is trustworthy to stand up to any of it's commitments. In a repeat performance, Trump shits himself and his country on the world stage,
He repeats his 1st state at every opportunity and some people still think that's a mere 'joke'. Especially ones to ignorant to know it would be thirteen states, none of which would be MAGAs. Bragging how we would have US 'protection' when most of us are more worried about protection from the USA, performs the American mantra of squawking about lower taxes when we're more interested in more income, not the taxes on it.

Dr. Jordan Bernt Peterson is arguably the most powerful Canadian on earth

Peterson is hanging out with the POTUS at Mar-a-Lago

while Trump won't even take Trudeau's calls

and doesn't even know who Pierre Poillievre is

the Ontario College of Psychologists really messed with the wrong guy

no wonder they are too afriad to follow through with their "reeducation" program now

Give it up betsy LOL

Trudeau and his liberals have nothing to fight with. Trumps says jump and Justin says how high LOL

Doesn't matter, Canadians are in the mood for a fight. If they have to. Trump thinks everything is transactional. Sovereignty is emotional. He is used to trying to win in a business deal and doesn't understand when people are prepared to push back, even at a cost.
