The danger in framing this in this way, is that it gives in to the politicization of the legal system.  There's supposed to be arms-length decisions on laying charges in the system.

The justice department brings charges, not parties. Justice departments are always reluctant to bring charges against presidents because of the precedent it might set. However if there is enough evidence, they may not have a choice without discrediting themselves.

No, if they broke the law which I say they did , then that is the only factor, but the jan6th committee only requests charges and the justices department decide whether to prosecute . All of these investigations and show trials are not being done in an attempt to have Trump arrested, impeached or the like.  There is no evidence to arrest him or they would have done it already.   They are merely to keep a news cycle producing negative headlines for Trump in hopes of suppressing the mid term republican turn out.

Try reading , The justice dept charges him the jan 6th committee investigates and recommends charges to the justice dept , why in the hell would they recommend charges to justice  halfway through the investigation., plus if they are smart they will hold their charges and prosecution to as close to 2024 as possible because the better it will slice and dice the hate party across the board from the presidency to their representatives. MY guess  is it will be transferred over to Justice in the 2nd quarter of 2023. That will be the best time.
