What actually happens in an economic catastrophe is that people recoil from the future, Wiemar Republic snaps back hard into National Socialism. Contrary to popular myth, the Romanov's were not overthrown because of an economic crash, Russia's economy wasn't in crisis, in fact the war had it firing on all cylinders with the peasants being brought into the cities to work in the factories, because there was a surplus of work not a shortage. When the Depression came, the right actually took over in the Soviet Union too; enter Stalin. When the Depression came, enter the New Deal, and Trump is bringing an end to the New Dealers, so that could incite the radical left as well, and viola Green New Deal. America went left last time a Depression came on a Republican's watch, not right. It's more likely to work against Trump than in his favor, ask Hoover. Edited August 28, 2019 by Yzermandius19 Quote

Green New Deal is a bunch of fluff, the New Deal was actually right wing as well, because what FDR actually did, was start to rule by decree. FDR equated the Depression as being like a war, so he started to run things like a king. This is actually where the Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 came from. That was Congress trying to take back control. The New Dealers are the ones who centralized power in the White House, so while their rhetoric was off the left, their methods were actually extreme right. At the time, the Republicans were not the far right, the Republicans were the Party of Lincoln, the Republican opposition to FDR was asserting that he was a tyrant. Quote

Turns out Commies like to centralize power in a cult of personality tyrant, who knew? Thankfully in 2020, the Dems don't have an FDR, so even in an economic downturn, Trump might still win. Even AOC's former chief of staff said the Green New Deal was really about a radical central planning restructuring of the economy and the environmental branding was basically a front, they got a leaked tape of him actually saying that, which is probably why he's not working for her anymore. Adolf Hitler and FDR used the same methods, the difference was that Hitler skipped the New Deal deflationary stage and went straight to massive military build up inflation. The Americans came around in 1941, and then beat Hitler at his own game. Quote

Indeed, and thanks to Dr Teller and Dr Sakarov, the build up can be Cold War instead of hot, thermonuclear deterrence is not assurance, but it is still a mighty deterrence none the less. Now, that might go over the edge at some point, shooting war by brinkmanship, but deflation can cause a shooting war too, so a Depression is not safer than going straight at them. What Reagan did in 1981, is go right at the Soviets, no more Detente because the Soviets were simply using that to close the gap, instead, Dutch went radio silent, crossed the G-I-UK Gap, and got right up in their kitchen in the Barents'; you want a war Ivan, okay, but we are going to mop the floor with you, see how we can be on top of you and you never seen us coming. This did incite things to the brink, peaking in 1983, September 26th 1983 to be exact, Oko Able Archer, the world saved my Stan Petrov at the brink, None the less, the Soviets did back down, it abated in 1986, followed by the INF treaty in 87', then the Soviets collapsed, because in fact, preparing for war against the Americans at the gates, was the only thing left propping them up. Dougie93 Posted August 28, 2019 Report Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) An alliance with Boris Johnson would be helpful, Trump should be more active in bonding with the Brexiteers. Because Margaret Thatcher was a key component in forcing the Soviets to back down. The British didn't name her the Iron Lady, the Soviets named her that. The Oko crisis in 1983 was actually the Soviets getting spooked when Reagan and Thatcher went into the huddle together, if Thatcher is in the room; buckle up. If Anglo-America is divided, that gives the Russians and Chinese the impression that they can get away with aggression, if it is unified, that deters them exponentially. Thing about deterrence; it has to be scary. It has to strike existential fear in the hearts of the adversary. In a world balanced by thermonuclear deterrence, all that lefty wefty peacenik shit is actually dangerous, deterrence means what it says. Trump is a hooligan perhaps, but Barack Obama doesn't strike fear into anyone, because they know Obama is not going to fly off the handle and do anythung crazy, with Trump they can never be sure, Jacksonian thunderbolts in talons grasped, ends justify the means, so you better watch out how far you push the Americans, as they just might come out swinging. Same with Thatcher, the Iron Lady is not for turning, so maybe its better to negotiate with her, because if backed into a corner she's not going to balk. If the Democrats win the election and it's a bunch of Bernie Bro Millennials, that's dangerous, because no way the Russians nor Chinese will take them seriously. Peace Through Strength. No, don't mess around in Ukraine, that's a faultline, if you're going to go at them, go straight at them with a massive build up across the board. Ukraine is a hot war. You don't want to go there. Stick to Cold War, but make sure you're loaded for bear and the Bear knows it. Edited August 28, 2019 by Dougie93 Quote

GostHacked Posted August 29, 2019 Author Report Posted August 29, 2019 I'll have to get this thread back on track yet again. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/democrats-next-debate-make-miss-1.5263814 Only Bernie can save the day now. IF the Dems put Biden forward, then Trump is going to win another 4 yrs. Biden is an absolute train wreck on the campaign trail. The DNC seems to be pushing against the people that wont tow whatever line they are looking for. Using 4 'official' polls that show Gabbard polling under 2%, even in most other polls she is polling MUCH higher, and has exceeded the number of independent doners needed to be in the September debates. Can someone explain to me why the RNC is not also holding debates for their next leader? Or they have to go with Trump? I don't understand this 'democracy'. Quote The 10 candidates who qualified for September's debate are: Joe Biden. Cory Booker. Pete Buttigieg. Julian Castro. Kamala Harris. Amy Klobuchar. Beto O'Rourke. Bernie Sanders. Elizabeth Warren. Andrew Yang. Quote
