I mean I had supposedly the no.1 esr, nose, throat doctor visiting from South KorewA examine me at Toronto General because of the weird brain infection I had. He was a jerk. He came in with like 12 interns and when I said good morning did not answer. I told the interns right there this doctor was an asshole and if he does not have basic courtesy he has no business being a doctor and then told that doctor tp phack off. That has been the only doctor I ever had a fight with. Me personally I have had doctors of all colours, sizes, shapes, probably breast size and penis length. Never felt it important. I only care they are polite and clean. Who knows what sets people off. I just am not sure all of that is racism. I think what often looks like racism or sexism isn't. In my case I am embarrassed to strip in front of young women gp's. Its my up bringing. Its my issue not the doctor's. All the doctors understand that. They know I don't thinl women are inferior doctors. Hell my mother was one. I do find explaining male urology issues a hell of a lot easier with an old man doctor I mean we smell the same. I was brought up at a very young age seeing doctors of all colours, sizes, etc. Some people are shaped by their environments the other way. Some people need time to accept change. I am not apologizing for bigoted behaviour but I think with health care, its a very problematic area of service. Doctors an dnurses are trained to deal with such things head on. Now I had doctor who was close to my mother who came from Haiti. Oh you bet in Quebec where he worked there were comments He was the no.1 tropical disease spdcialist in his hospital. An impeccable man. He never confronted the comments with anger. He let his expertise do the talking. You bet I watched him growing up. He was just like my Granddad he had this quiet dignoity in the face of ugliness. People like that are my kind of heroes. Its why I liked Jackie Robinson. You deal with it they way they did-by transcending the ugliness. Its done every day by people. That is something you and I don't see maybe because I guess the ugliness. which is louder. One example: Provinces notify clinics if one of their patients is getting opiod scrips from more than one doctor. Not every doctor wants to work with a patient who does that. I have a friend that's a nurse practitioner. The only difference between her and a doctor is that she can't prescribe opiods. And she's Okay with that.
