Russia and Mr. Trump

Flynn lied to the vice president, they found out the truth and acted on it.  Why not just say that you content that the right thing was done?

There have been questions about Flynn's actions and his past for weeks... why did the House Oversight Committee refuse to investigate? Why did the H.O.C. decide they needed to look into "Sid The Science Kid" while this cloud of controversy was hanging over the National Security Advisor? We now know that behind the scenes, the intelligence agencies have been fighting with the administration for several weeks regarding Flynn. I'm not sure that people should be "content" at all with the way this was handled.

Maybe the president was doing an in house investigation for the past couple weeks.

The White House struggled Tuesday to answer an avalanche of questions over national security adviser Michael Flynn's resignation.

Flynn was asked to quit Monday after it became public that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about whether he had discussed US sanctions during pre-inauguration phone calls with the Kremlin's man in Washington, Sergey Kislyak.
In new developments Tuesday, it emerged that President Donald Trump was told on January 26 -- more than two weeks ago -- that the Justice Department had concerns about Flynn's conduct.

They're saying Flynn lost the trust of the president.  So are we to believe that Flynn reached out to Russia on his own ?

...suuuuure, that's probably it...

Trump's response makes it clear that he's not mad at what Flynn did, he's mad that Flynn got caught. What does it tell you that Trump had not one word to say about Flynn, but raged about the media and the leaks?

The press I think.

Here's some more breaking news:

Trump aides were in constant touch with senior Russian officials during campaign.

Not that it matters though...

While Kellyanne Conway may be garnering a few headlines and ought to be investigated by the ethics committee, she's basically a joke and I suspect harmless so American's ought not to focus too much on that, but Trump may/should be investigated under US code 2381."aid and comfort to US enemies". That's tantamount to treason. Ivanka selling a few more or less dresses isn't nearly as important I would say.

Last night Trump tweeted "Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?).Just like Russia" and then complained about the FAKEness of the news. So just to be clear about how stupid this man actually is (and by extension, every single person who supported him), he tries to deny the veracity of the reports while confirming them. It's fun watching the supporters slowly drop off though. The TheDonald subreddit is in stunned silence.

Either way, deploying a new generation of cruise missiles with nuclear capabilities is really stirring-up the hornet's nest.

America has pretty much eliminated nuclear cruise missiles as they are a very iffy weapon. Only strategic bombers carry them now (the model 86). Even then, only on certain occasions...or by mistake!

The reason why they are iffy should be obvious...but if not: you never know if you're under nuclear attack with cruise missiles. That is until one explodes...or crashes on an unintended target. Many cruise missiles have both nuclear and conventional warheads. So in a crisis situation...you might need to wait an hour or more to find out the truth. No such ambiguity exists with ICBMs. The last thing one wants when facing global nuclear annihilation is a bunch of question-marks before your forces react.

And speaking of question-marks...the USA with all its safeguards DID transport nuclear armed ALCM-86s by MISTAKE...oooops. Now imagine the rest...who use lower safety standards re: nuclear weapons.

What about the Black Brant incident? True it was confused with a submarine launched ballistic missile, but the fight technology is similar with the big difference being the launch vehicle.

A long time ago. Mistakes happen even when every precaution is taken (Fukushima...for example).

Certainty is essential for MAD to function. Nuclear weapons are only getting MORE easy to use. Not less.

Kind of like how the US and NATO set up things close to the Russian border in Europe over the past few years. To stir the nest a bit.

What precautions were taken at Fukushima?  This should be good.

So you're for Russia deploying new thermonuclear cruise missiles, then?
