taxme Posted July 28, 2016 Report Posted July 28, 2016 Tony Schwarz is a journalist who ghostwrote Trumps "The Art of the Deal". A publication Trump is very proud of. I was watching CNN this morning and saw this very enlightening interview with that journalist: Interview Another person grovelling at the alter of the elite globalists feet. Such people stand for nothing except for themselves and just want to appear politically correct to save their job. They are not worth the time of day.
taxme Posted July 28, 2016 Report Posted July 28, 2016 Mr. Hardner, you have accused me of using the words "you liars" indicating to me that I called a member here a liar. Can you show me as to where I said those exact words, please? Thank you.
overthere Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 And only a fool believes in unilateral disarmament. This is attributed to Sanders, right? I can promise you that both China and Russia would desperately love to see the US unilaterally disarm. The Baltic States would be practicing their Russian verb tenses the next day. And Tapei would be feeling some heavy Sino Loving sooner than that. Science too hard for you? Try religion!
jacee Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Some Republicans flee Trump, back Clinton: 'Some of the things he espouses are very, very dangerous,' lifelong Republican worries Reyes calls Trump a xenophobic isolationist who is "completely irresponsible on national security issues." So Reyes and fellow Republican John Stubbs, who both worked in the White House under George W. Bush, started an election campaign of their own. They founded a grassroots group, Republicans for Clinton 2016. There will be Republicans who think they can use Trump to make oodles of money. There will be Republicans who buy into his xenophobia. And there will be Republicans of principle who know they are more similar to Clinton than to Trump. .
Smallc Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Probably Trump will win I'm not so sure anymore - there's a wind shift occurring, I think.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Both Trump and Clinton will lose some votes to the Johnson-Weld Libertarian ticket, which is getting more attention. They will probably not match Ross Perot's success of 1992, but could impact swing states with close vote margins. Economics trumps Virtue.
The_Squid Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 If there weren't term limits, Obama would easily win another election.

Big Guy Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Before the campaign began, I thought that the Democratic choice would win in a landslide. Now, I am more certain that the Democratic choice, Hillary Clinton, will be the next president of the USA in a landslide. I cannot see Trump carrying a single state. Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

The fact Trump got the GOP regardless of the push back from his own party and regardless of everything he has said, he will crush Clinton.
Big Guy Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 The fact Trump got the GOP regardless of the push back from his own party and regardless of everything he has said, he will crush Clinton. Argus Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Agreed. . Only for lack of a decent alternative. If Bloomberg ran under the Republican banner he'd slaughter either Obama or Clinton "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley

Argus Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Trump appeals to wackos. He has locked up the wacko vote. There still are, however, more centrists than wackos. Trump appeals to more than wackos. He appeals to the disenfranchised who think the system doesn't care about them and hasn't cared about them for a long time. Of course, Trump doesn't care about them either, but that's neither here nor there. Or maybe, like Michael Moore says, voting Trump is just a great big finger to the political and media elites on behalf of these people, or a Molotov cocktail tossed into the election machinery, hoping whatever comes might be better than what is there now. Clinton appeals to a different kind of wacko, but wackos none the less. Those who think she gives a shit any more than Trump does, are completely deluding themselves. They both don't care, they are politicians who will say whatever it takes to get elected while lying to your face about what they believe and what they are going to do. Then again, no matter who gets in, the POTUS is not the one running the nation.
betsy Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Two conflicting opinions. Am looking forward to the results. Apparently there are 3 debates scheduled. When is the first debate? Edited July 31, 2016 by betsy
Big Guy Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Apparently there are 3 debates scheduled. When is the first debate? Monday, September 26, 2016 First presidential debate Location: Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY The first debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic. *Wright State University in Ohio has withdrawn from holding the First Presidential debate due to budget issues. Hofstra University will step in to host the first Clinton/Trump debate. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 Vice presidential debate Location: Longwood University, Farmville, VA The Vice Presidential debate will be divided into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each. The moderator will ask an opening question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic. Sunday, October 9, 2016 Second presidential debate Location: Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which half of the questions will be posed directly by citizen participants and the other half will be posed by the moderator based on topics of broad public interest as reflected in social media and other sources. The candidates will have two minutes to respond and there will be an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate further discussion. The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 Third presidential debate Location: University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV The format for the third debate will be identical to the first presidential debate. Those who think she gives a shit any more than Trump does, are completely deluding themselves. I would suggest you watch Bill Clinton's speech, where he recites a long, long list of the volunteer work his wife has done since she was in college. She has spent literally years of her life on a variety of causes, from helping migrant Mexicans to disabled children to minorities and women, and done it consistently for decades. It makes no sense to suggest such a person doesn't care about others. I would much rather see someone like Bloomberg in the oval office, because I dislike Clinton's politically correct progressiveness, but it's ludicrous to say she doesn't care more than Trump, who has never done anything for anyone else in his life. Hal 9000 Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 Anyone who still asks for proof or evidence of the Clinton's corruption is too far gone to acknowledge the reality of it anyway. The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so. - Ronald Reagan I have said that the Western world is just as violent as the Islamic world - Dialamah Europe seems to excel at fooling people to immigrate there from the ME only to chew them up and spit them back. - Eyeball Unfortunately our policies have contributed to retarding and limiting their (Muslim's) society's natural progression towards the same enlightened state we take for granted. - Eyeball

bush_cheney2004 Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Just as in previous U.S. presidential elections, a CBC "analysis" wonk is peddling the usual American wannabe voting angle for Trump vs. Clinton: After closing the gap on Hillary Clinton in the polls, Donald Trump is closer to taking the White House today than he has ever been before. But there is one way the Democrats could virtually ensure their party's hold on the presidency — making Canada the 51st state. That's obviously not going to happen. But Canadians would be among the most reliable Democrats if, well, they were Americans instead. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/grenier-canada-us-election-1.3699457 Economics trumps Virtue.
