I think the irony is lost on you that it is Antifa that behaves like fascists. What's the difference between violent Antifa mobs and the Brownshirts in Germany? If there is anything akin to fascism in the US today it might be the government that weaponizes federal agencies against political opponents. Antifa activists say violence is necessary | The Hill Here is the group you support and may be a member of openly saying that violence is necessary.

A member of Antifa talking about conservatives giving up on problem solving? The conservative approach, while not perfect, is certainly better than your Antifa approach which is burning, looting, and physically attacking all opposition. California exodus continues: L.A., San Francisco lead the way - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com) Businesses Are Fleeing California Along With Its Residents, And President Biden Should Pay Attention (forbes.com) There is an obvious connection here between California being ultra-woke and residents leaving in big numbers for better run states, like Florida for instance. The sad part is, I'm certain that those same people who got fed up and left will bring their political ideology to their new home state.

Premier Danielle Smith: Train wreck
ironstone replied to Queenmandy85's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
As usual, it depends on who you hear the story from. GUNTER: CBC spin on Smith recording just shows broadcaster's bias (msn.com) Not as bad as the CBC is making it out to be? -
Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

I admitted his headlines were over the top, but are you suggesting he doesn't know an awful lot about cars? -

According to the video I watched (Scotty Kilmer) he was suggesting that it's more likely that EV's will be written off if they sustain any kind of damage to the batteries. -
Ronald Reagan was a Traitor
ironstone replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This theory has been floating around for a long time. All the left-leaning news sources seem to be running it as if it were totally irrefutable. It depends what you read. Another source may cast doubt and point out inconsistencies in the theory. Pinkerton: Carter, Reagan, and American Hostages in Iran: NYT Goes Back to 1980 to Smear Republicans (breitbart.com) I wouldn't say this story is completely implausible but I'm not convinced it's 100% true right now either. Jimmy Carter is a good man but he was a failure as President. -
On the flip side, can you point to any evidence that suggests Justin Trudeau is competent? Or ethical?

Another thing to consider about EV's is the insurance aspect and what happens when the car and the huge battery sustain damage. Here is what the insurance companies are doing: This Just Killed the Future of Electric Cars - YouTube Yes, the titles of many of these videos are misleading compared to the actual content. But the content of this short video gives us something else to think about with governments around the world pushing hard for EV's. -
But on your own link, "Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS" I find there is a YouTube video link that you posted. I don't have a problem with YouTube links on here. I have posted enough of them and have been introduced to some pretty good channels posted by others. As for the immigration topic. I'm on the side that thinks current immigration levels are too high given the housing and health care problems facing Canadians. Then there is the discussion about assimilation vs multiculturalism.

More on the Chevy Bolt from Driving.ca: Chevy offering Bolt customers rebates to tamp out American lawsuits | Driving Chevy Bolt EV subject to Canadian class-action over batteries | Driving GM has cut the price a bit in the US but in Canada it's still a $40,000 car. I used to check out Driving.ca once a week or so in the past but I just lost interest in the site. Looking at it right now I can see I haven't missed much. -

It's pretty costly to subsidize this kind of business. Chris Selley: Canada's needless corporate welfare for Volkswagen just insults our intelligence (msn.com) In other news, Tesla is going to build a new plant in Mexico. Presumably the cost of labour is a big factor. -
SVB hired woke board obsessed with diversity, invested $5BN for 'healthier planet' | Daily Mail Online Silicon Valley Bank pushed 'woke' programs ahead of collapse (nypost.com) A head of risk management at Silicon Valley Bank spent considerable time spearheading multiple “woke” LGBTQ+ programs, including a “safe space” for coming-out stories, as the firm raced toward collapse. Jay Ersapah, the boss of financial risk management at SVB’s UK branch, launched initiatives such as the company’s first month-long Pride campaign and a new blog emphasizing mental health awareness for LGBTQ+ youth. It seems like they were too busy concentrating on woke initiatives and remained oblivious to the financial part of running a bank.

I think it's more accurate to say that Postmedia has much more loyalty to Trudeau and his Liberals since they have been on the government payroll. But I would agree that most of the newspapers in Canada are rags. I don't think Trudeau ever cared about the Chinese interference because he considered it to be helpful to the Liberals. He most certainly knew about it at the time.

TUCKER CARLSON AND THE JAN. 6 VIDEO
ironstone replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I didn't watch the entire show, just this short clip of Brand and that MSNBC guy. They were both trying to talk over one another. And it was patently absurd for this guy to claim MSNBC does not dish out its fair share of propaganda or outright falsehoods on a regular basis. If you took the time to listen to Brand explain his point of view in much greater detail on his own channel, you might even agree with him as he makes some great points. -

Are you applying this same standard to all the major networks or just FOX? FOX spews propaganda but CNN, MSNBC and the rest do not? What these networks cover or do not cover depends a lot on what the corporate owners let them say. Russell Brand laid all of this out much more directly than I can. So I Went On Bill Maher And This Happened... - YouTube FOX can be criticized for how it covers the news, it's fair game. Just as all the other networks are. -

That's a nightmare scenario since Antifa doesn't stand for anything beneficial to society. More funding for Antifa would simply mean more violence and destruction in more cities. -
TUCKER CARLSON AND THE JAN. 6 VIDEO
ironstone replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's been debunked some time ago. Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes after Capitol riot, medical examiner says - CBS News The public release of more video simply confirms what many of us were saying shortly after Jan 6, namely that a very small number of people rioted while the vast majority did not. There is simply nowhere near enough evidence to classify Jan 6 as an insurrection. -
I've finally seen a picture of this person without the "costume" on. Being put on paid leave isn't actually the same as being fired outright so for the time being this guy is still getting paid. If he dresses normally outside the school it makes me still wonder if this is an extreme kind of trolling or not.

There are certainly issues with wait times here in Canada. It's not really free either since it's paid for by our tax dollars. For my first hernia surgery I waited 5 months and at the time I thought it was a long time to wait as I was still working and in a lot of discomfort. The second time around, it took exactly 1 year from the time of diagnosis until the actual surgery, from May of 2021 until June of 2022. As it's been pointed out above, I don't worry about getting hit with some massive bill from the hospital but we certainly do have some pretty long wait times. Any time that a politician suggests looking at more private sector involvement there is an outcry, usually from the left about going down the road to an American style system. Which country has the best health care system in the world? A quick search gave some very different results so it's hard to say. I can say with a large degree of certainty it's not Canada although I doubt we are the worst either. We shouldn't be afraid to look at how the other developed nations are doing it and see what works and what doesn't.
