Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
ironstone replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Just got through 3 days without power here. Had to rely on my ICE generator to keep some things running. Things are going to get so bad as consumers are coerced to buy more EV's with all that extra demand on the grid.? -
So how did Bill Clinton handle it when he paid $850,000 to Paula Jones? The simple fact is, this is a misdemeanor that has been blown out of all proportion. I have pointed out that Hillary and Obama also had violations(misdemeanors) but they were treated much differently. Alvin Bragg literally campaigned on a promise to "get Trump". This from a prosecutor that regularly reduces felonies to misdemeanors for violent career criminals. And Bragg also has only a 50% success rate in prosecuting the rare felonies that do make it to court. He's lousy at his job.

Again, different legal standards for different people. No One Is Above The Law? Give Me A Break (thefederalist.com) Plenty of people are “above the law.” James Clapper, who lied under oath to Congress about spying on the American people, is above the law. John Brennan, who lied about a domestic spying operation on Senate staffers, is above the law. Unlike Trump advisor Peter Navarro, Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder was never going to be handcuffed and thrown in prison for ignoring a congressional subpoena. He is above the law.

It is ludicrous to even hint that Trump could be another Hitler. Do you feel the same amount of hatred towards all the Republican contenders?

New York's Criminal Procedure Law establishes that the statute of limitations is two years for misdemeanors and five years for felonies, barring exceptions for certain heinous crimes like rape or murder. While it is not public knowledge exactly which charges Trump faces, it is expected that all charges are either non-violent felonies or misdemeanors, meaning that unless DA Bragg's office is able to indict Trump for a crime that took place in March of 2018 or later, Trump's alleged crimes are barred from prosecution under the statute of limitations. Agreeing that someone in his accounting team may be guilty of a campaign finance violation, which always seemed to be considered as a misdemeanor until now. Nobody here has yet to answer my question as to why Trump's violation was treated much more harshly than those of Obama and Hillary Clinton. If the FEC levied a fine against Trump then all three of these politicians could be said to have been treated fairly. And the rhetoric here is way over the top. "Trump BEGINS to face the music for his crimes!" One would think that these are the worst, most heinous crimes of the century.? I believe somebody made the Trump/Hitler analogy in here too. C'mon!

He isn't wrong about that. I know a lot of industries end up with subsidies whether we like it or not. In this case, taxpayers are subsidizing an EV plant to build vehicles that have relied heavily on taxpayer subsidies in order to get people to buy them. -

At the end of the day, most of us will end up paying out a lot more. The rebates are a shell game. Price on carbon will outstrip rebates, watchdog says | The Star OTTAWA, ON: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is correcting the record as the federal government sends out carbon tax rebates on Jan. 15. “The Parliamentary Budget Officer shows politicians are using magic math to sell their carbon tax,” said Franco Terrazzano, Federal Director of the CTF. “The PBO is clear: the carbon tax costs families hundreds of dollars more than the rebates they get back.” The Trudeau government claims “families are going to be better off” with its carbon tax and rebates. However, a PBO report shows this is incorrect. The carbon tax will cost the average household between $402 and $847 in 2023, even after the rebates, according to the PBO. The cost depends on the province. -

So you guys are heavily in favor of subsidizing huge corporations and at the same time, heavily in favor of taxing the little guy so it makes day to day living very expensive? -
Is that why her home was never in danger of being raided? Nobody has explained why a misdemeanor past the statute of limitations gets turned into a felony in Trump's case while Obama and Clinton merely paid fines for their campaign finance violations.

Don't you believe that carbon taxes make everything more expensive? It's rather flippant to say it's only 3c when the cost to transport goods keeps going up as does the cost of those goods. Take Canada out of the equation and China's rising emissions will more than compensate for ours. Many times over. -
Not so, but Alvin Bragg and all other Soros funded DA's are clearly soft on violent crime. You clearly do not believe in due process for all. Just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. Oh wait...it was! Trump Refused To Jail Clinton. Democrats Have No Such Restraint (thefederalist.com) Soft-on-crime Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has downgraded more than half his felony cases to misdemeanors — while also managing to lose half of the felony cases that do reach court. Since taking office on Jan. 1, Bragg has downgraded 52% of felony cases to misdemeanors — compared to 39% in all of 2019. So while crime is out of control in NYC, Alvin Bragg often reduces felonies to misdemeanors allowing those criminals back onto the street. In Trump's case, he turns a misdemeanor into a felony. Please tell us why robosmith happens to know more about the law than Alan Dershowitz.?

How times have changed! 20 Times Leftists Feigned Outrage Over Trump And 'Lock Her Up' (thefederalist.com) Regarding Hillary Clinton and the chants of "lock her up". “In a democracy, you can’t threaten to jail your opponents,” said former President Barack Obama in 2016. “We have fought against those kinds of things.” MSNBC’s Joy Reid called the “Lock her up” chant “peak authoritarianism,” opining that “countries that lock up whoever dared to run against the autocrat are the kinds we used to send election monitors to.”

How about the opinion of one Alan Dershowitz on this Trump indictment? Dershowitz is a liberal, he did not vote for Trump either. Unlike many liberals, he has always called for the equal application of the law.

More Liberal lies about the carbon taxes...

I can't speak for anyone else but I keep my thermostat low. I drive a small car. I have had upgrades to my home, windows, more attic insulation, high efficiency furnace. Soon new siding and Tyvek wrap underneath. I try not to drive on weekends. I cut out some things on groceries. And yet, in spite of all this, I am paying out more every month than ever before. I do have to go to work and public transit is not an option because of where I live. What more do you expect from people that are already getting squeezed? -

I would never support any of those that engaged in rioting on Jan 6. However, I have no problems with the majority that were peacefully protesting. And I would also point out that it's likely that most leftists do support all the riots that their side engaged in. Here Are All The Left-Wing Violent Protests Over The Past Several Years | The Daily Wire If the left does not get its way, there is a very good chance they will start a riot. -

It's fair to say both side have radicals. The difference is that the radicals on the Democratic side have a lot more influence and are not outsiders. -
"Anyone that disagrees with you is a fascist". You are blind to the fact that it is exactly what you yourself are doing. You can't win by open debate so your Antifa mobs resort to intimidation and violence. But no Antifa member engages in these acts alone as they realize they have to have the backing of the mob. Did you come to embrace these kinds of views because of your time listening to radical tenured college professors?

The Libs of TikTok site is simply showing what Libs are actually saying and what their demands are. It's real. Does that make you uncomfortable? -

Conservatives are much more likely overall to be on friendly terms with leftists but leftists are encouraged to ghost anyone that is conservative. Not just ghost them, but encouraged to be openly hostile to them. The lefties live in some kind of fantasy land, far removed from reality. He actually has different kinds of videos. Some are how-to, troubleshooting, brands to buy and avoid. He also has more comprehensive videos which talk about the latest developments in the automotive world. Product reviews as well. I would say he is more knowledgeable about EV's than most people as well. I sometimes watch another channel called "Engineering Explained" where the host fairly points out the pros and cons of the different approaches of the auto companies. Worth checking out. -
That's really grasping at straws though. Anyone can make outrageous claims about a rival, and wealthy people like the Clintons can afford to pay huge amounts and you seem to have the same backwards view as Nancy Pelosi does. Guilty until proven innocent and the onus is 100% on Donald Trump to carry the burden. Is that your view of how justice should work? No politician has been investigated more than Trump to my knowledge. If this same standard had been applied in the past to Hillary and Obama and they also were indicted for their campaign finance violations, then I would admit justice is applied equally and fairly to all. But it's not. ORANGE MAN BAD - YouTube

Can you say with a straight face that so-called fraudulent business records are treated the same as actual day to day crime on the streets of NYC by Alvin Bragg? This should be about equal and fair application of the laws of the land. Donald Trump is entitled to the presumption of innocence despite what Nancy Pelosi believes about that.
