  1. Fortunately there are no statistics that link poverty with crime.
  2. I would accept as permanent residents any refugees and their immediate family (children, spouse) with skills/education which would enable them to achieve at least a middle class Canadian income without engaging in illegal activity. All other refugees can stay temporarily to ensure their safety until they're resettled in a country more suitable to their economic profile.
  3. Children (who are minors) and spouses are fine. Nobody else should be allowed in unless they qualify on their own as a net economic benefit to the country.
  4. Its a new law that hasn't been implemented yet, no evidence its going to work yet. Sounds like more racially divisive nonsense.
  5. I don't understand the need this kind of alert based on race, separate from an Amber Alert.
  6. I think one of the measures you can judge someone's character is, when they are in a position of power, how they use it and how they treat other people under them with it.
  7. My buddy gave out copies of "The Big Book of Hairy Unwashed Cooters" to kids at Halloween because they can't get it at their school library anymore.
  8. Vivek is a loser, and a swindler, trying to copy the Trump playbook including saying outrageous things to get attention and climb the polls. The guy needs to go crawl in a hole and stay there.
  9. My parents didn't really instill any pro or anti union sentiment in me growing up. But if you weren't raised to think harassing and causing violence against co-workers in order to further your own contract negotiations is about the most disgusting, immoral thing you can do then you weren't raised at all. People have freedom of association and are free to join or not join whatever union they wish and also are free go where they want, a mob shouldn't be allowed to harass them and physically block their path or otherwise act like a bunch of bullies.
  10. Election lies and racism in one OP. Stay classy.
  11. Do you think a worker who crosses the picket lines because they need to work should be harassed and targeted by other unionized workers like how some employers harass people who try to start or join a union? Do you believe people have a right to work? There's a difference between "respect" and someone's rights. I didn't say i support "unions", I said I support "union rights", which means the right to organize and strike and not be fired for trying to organize and strike. I support neither unions nor employers outright per say, I support their right to negotiate with each other.
  12. Wouldn't a lot of deer and other animals get mowed down by high speed trains in Canada? Going that fast on the ground would unnerve me.
  13. The Liberals so down in the polls means the NDP will be able to get a lot pushed through on the threat that they can force an election at any time. Not sure I would even believe that threat from the NDP, they have more power now federally than possibly ever, why would they want that good thing to end if the CPC would very likely win an election right now? I support union rights but anti-scab legislation is a bit much. If you walk off the job that's your prerogative but why can't a business hire someone else?
  14. Science isn't based on "beliefs", that's what a religion is. You have a brain so use it. Darwinism is unforgiving. Adapt or die.
  15. We can all argue about solutions, the point is at least acknowledging there's a problem.
  16. Many on the rightwing deny climate change is even a thing, the ones that do denied it for decades, and many conservatives in the US also don't want to do anything about. Canada shouldn't destroy its economy, especially during an inflationary crisis, but they can do their part.
  17. I never said the Democrats were socialists, I said they were becoming socially leftist. In other words, leftists in the social/cultural realm, like all the woke nonsense.
  18. I don't agree with the OP. But Democrats used to be the center. Now the center has crept so far left over the last 10 years that the Democrats are now made of a lot of socially leftist types. Bill Maher, a centrist and typical 90's/2000's Democrat now looks conservative by comparison. The party of Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama has transformed, as has the party of Chretien and Martin. And much of the rightwing in America has crept further right, and a lot of the establishment GOP now look closer to center-right.
  19. A lot of Canadians are big wet losers who don't have the stones to defend themselves, their country, their communities, or their culture. They roll over and take it while letting people convince them how evil they are. These are just narratives we tell ourselves. When toxic narratives reach mass appeal humans become weak and self-destructive. It's racist to say "all people from X race shouldn't be allowed to migrate to Canada". It's not racist to say "if you're poor, uneducated/unskilled, and can't speak an official language you're statistically much more likely to make this country worse off rather than better off and contributing to rising crime, poverty etc, regardless of your race or country of origin". The far-right are not a good solution for society, but neither are leftists, who belong to a suicidal death cult and are intent on destroying western civilization whether they realize it or not. Darwinism will render leftist societies to the dustbin of history. Given the hard right's take on climate change you can argue that they also belong to a suicidal death cult. So really, what i'm saying is that most of you are bunch of moronic fools intent on destroying yourselves via your own stupidity.
  20. Well I said if incomes didn't go up a penny, which is probably not true, but they haven't kept pace.
  21. They're fairly safe, but reported incidents doesn't list all incidents if some weren't reported.
  22. GDP per capita doesn't really tell you anything about how the wealth is distributed. Middle class and lower class wages may not have gone up a penny who knows, and cost of living has gone up. If that were true, people would be getting poorer.
  23. Atlantic Canada are Liberal supporters but are polling CPC now. They want those votes back
