I think identity politics is having a meaningful impact to our culture, employment, and unity. You can't just ignore reality.

No it's a very specific form of over-politeness obsessed with race and gender and trying to make sure everyone fits into some kind of identity quota. It's not very polite to discriminate against someone based on their race or gender. Maybe you're retired and don't lose out on jobs and promotions because you don't have the right shade of skin or genitals.

We're too well-off, and thus everyone is coddled, spoiled and entitled and afraid of everything and more indifferent to our politics because why care if things are so easy? The great depression/WWII generation took nothing for granted but they don't run society anymore and most are dead anyways. So the Liberals are corrupt, and the CPC are too, and the federal NDP aren't so much (yet) because they've never governed. The second they got into power they'd sell us all out, you can bet your RRSP on it. Nothing changes until the system changes. Trudeau and PP can each sh*t. Singh too. Liberalism is where everyone has the same individual rights in a society. Everyone is treated the same regardless of race, religion, gender etc. Liberalism is where people are judged not by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. This government has failed at that and embraced the opposite because all they see is race and gender etc.. Everyone is tokenized, everyone is a member of a tribe rather than just a Canadian. In a "post-national state" there is no nation called Canada, it's just a place where a bunch of different tribes live and fight over power. If everyone is a Canadian first and foremost there's a lot less fighting over power because we're fighting for the interests of the same things. The other major problem in this country is political corruption from corporate and foreign entities. I've discussed this at length including with you. I am for the interests of our country and the interests of its regular everyday working people and am proud of that and have never wavered from it. You don't have a monopoly on caring about transparency and accountability. I'll have to read this article when I have more time.

I'm not interested in defending our system. Scale doesn't matter, the effect on policy does. Greenbelt scams, SNC Lavalin, WE Charity, Chinese donations to the Trudeau Foundation etc, free Aga Khan vacations, and countless other examples we'll never hear about. Our governments are run by corrupt sellouts.

I'm not arguing scale. The US economy is far larger and has most of the richest corporations in the world.

Rewarding terrorism on Oct 7 with massive political gains like a 2 state solution for Palestine after the current fighting is done is a really bad idea that will encourage more terrorism.

When was the last time the same 2 candidates from GOP and Dems had a rematch in consecutive POTUS elections? Has it ever happened?

Whoa whoa eyeball, anti-elitism? Grassroots? That's populism, a dirty word these days. Our political representatives in Ottawa, and in the provinces and on city councils, simply can't be trusted to act and vote in our best interests.

Both parties are corrupt and serve monied interests. In the US it's legal and more out in the open. In Canada it happens more under the table. Yes the Trudeau gov has been bad, but like all governments not 100% bad. But still "worst in my lifetime" bad.

Trudeau and the Liberals have implemented a bad vision for this country. The CPC has won the popular vote in the last 2 elections, so many Canadians have rejected the Liberal vision. The CPC definitely isn't perfect but its time for a change in leadership and a plurality of Canadians agree with me both now according to all of the polls and and over the past 2 elections.

Encouraging everyone to retreat into separate identity tribes while demonizing the one tribe we all belong to and suppressing our collective pride for it is a really bad idea. This has been the ideology of the woke left, including our current government of the past 8 years. Yes we're all different and always have been, but we need to reject divisive identity politics and vote the current government out of office because they're destroying the country.

Most cops, especially in Canada, will start complying with the law when they know they're being recorded. Different situation than the cart lady. You shouldn't have touched her cart, like Walmart employees shouldn't touch your parcels. Anyways I get your fears. Good luck.
