  1. And if we're being honest - a lot more of our currently "Unusable" land could be developed for agricultural purposes if we wanted. We just don't. I'm told that with global warming that might become even MORE true.
  2. You have something bigger than the left wing riots? Sure - lets keep going if you want to do comparisons I think you're not thinking very carefully if you think you'll come out ahead in that area Ahhh yes the "lie and pretend it's all their fault and we did nothing" excuse - a favorite of terrorists everywhere. Gaza absolutely agrees with you - why are THEY being punished for nothing? I think even you realize THAT sounded desperate and hollow. Try not to cry.
  3. Mulroney was seen in a more positive light. The polling is pretty clear. Hence the thread. Polling strongly indicates the libs are wearing this, not just Justin. Which is why nobody's chomping at the bit for him to step down and let them take over. Again - a very sizeable portion of their current pathetically small support is only there to try to keep the CPC out. When it becomes clear that this is not possible, those people could easily decide to stay at home and the actual voting support to fall to as low as 17 percent. That might not be high enough to win any ridings other than a handful in toronto. They might very well fall below 20 seats.
  4. LOL - man we can hear your desperation from here You're obviously realizing he's going to win big and that upsets you. Fair enough. But i think you better start steeling yourself for more like 8 years at least.
  5. Thanks for demonstrating that he failed and more families are being ripped apart even as we speak.
  6. I haven't seen it either but i understand it does nothing to actually stop people coming across the border. Just more cops to pick them up and release them into the country on a 'promise to appear' which few do. trump required them to wait in mexico. Biden could bring that back tomorrow and that would solve much of the problem. But he won't.
  7. Wow - this is the very first time i've ever heard of the house republicans refusing to pass a democrat bill. Will we be having a small statue made to commemorate the day? Seriously this is starting to get tedious. What the hell is even your point with this? The republicans want more and they don't want to settle for this and trump has expressed his views - this is all perfectly normal, what's your point?
  8. Well the military is already there, texas pays for and maintains it's own small army on top of the guard. But - if biden creates what would amount to a constitutional crisis in Canada (not sure what it's called in the states) then it's not as simple as arresting Abbott - who's pretty popular btw. It would be a political disaster of epic proportions in many of the southern states politically and he would look like a failure to the rest of the nation. How can you lead the union if you can't keep them united? Trump would eat him alive. So - it's going to be a little more of an issue than that.
  9. If he thinks HE regrets his choices, imagine how his PARENTS feel....
  10. Sure that happens a lot but i'm sure Biden has a very good reason. Funny you don't care when it's him doing it do you
  11. Dude it's plain as day you voted for the libs and support them now. Unless you're going to claim you voted ndp in which case you voted for the libs and you support them now.
  12. No, texas has a military force seperate from the guard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Military_Forces Biden has already let in more people in 2023 than trump did in his entire term. Sorry, NOBODY with a brain is buying the idea that biden is the great defender of the border he wants it open, he likes it open. he wishes it were more open
  13. You realize you'd be one of the ones leaving right? Hogwash. This isn't some punishment for some percieved injustice some time ago etc. this was an act of war and now the two groups are in conflict until someone loses And i don't recall anyone saying it's 'punishment' - people say they are getting what they asked for by allowing hamas to hide behind them. I think everyone would be just as happy if hamas came out into the open and let the citizens live but they don't. And this is the price you pay for attacking civvies like that and then getting in front of your soldiers. Severely stretching the truth there and i think you know it. Especially 'riots' - which year were the great irish riots again? And yeah those russian mennonites are such a roudy violent bunch... Here's the real difference. All of those groups agreed to put their own cultures on the backburner and integrate as best they could as fast as they could. And they did.
  14. Sure they do. And they egg it on.' Hell one of the squad even raised money to get their leaders out on bail. When they call it a 'mostly peaceful protest' they're supporting the violence. They're downplaying the violence and they're saying 'ohhh weelllll'. When AOC says 'Protests are SUPPOSED to make you uncomfortable" she's supporting the violence. When they say "it's wrong to attack the police like that BUT we undrestand why they would" and words to that effect they're supporting the violence. Sorry but the dems had very little problem with the violence or egging it on or ratcheting up the rhetoric. And these same people who spent a whole year egging those people on have the NERVE to say that j6 was trumps fault because of his rhetoric.
  15. Check the flux capacitor. That's usually the problem. Ohhh my god We're still mildly amazed you could get your computer on. ROFLMAO!!!! I think you broke HIS string
  16. LOL - we will absolutely get an argument from you.' Lets face it - 'must be left of castro' is also one of your requirements. Thats why you support justin or the party that keeps him in power.
  17. I woudln't think so. There's quite a bit out right now and the concern is the good people leave and the low skilled ones are 'trapped' but as far as i know immigration still far exceeds emigration.
  18. Sadly- i got 'em all right. The tragic part is you're not the dumbest leftie on the board - but sometimes you really act that way. I've already poven that's a lie. They've invested in renewables more than just about any other province and have plans to keep going. They got so far ahead of themselves they had to slow projects down to review things and get a handle on it. Like - I posted proof of this. You're just making shit up because you're struggling with the truth. Why?!? If you HAVE to lie to make your point then it's time to rethink your point! As to the rest - every private renewable project still needs the support of the gov't. And JT has been spewing his anti alberta oil 'shut them down' bullcrap since 2015. Pretending that he JUST started thinking and talking about it this year is assinine. It makes you look like a completely uneducated jackass. You mean once? To me anyway. You're interpreting what he said. But at the end of the day they also said they had relied on the renewables because their modeling said there would be more wind and they were surprised. And the end result is the same - you can't have your gas units off line and rely on renewables or this happens. So you need to build more to cover your power needs - because some are going to have to go off line for maintenance if nothing else once in a while and you can't rely on renewabls. You need to have reliables on line. It boggles my mind that you can go from relatively reasonable in one post to completely brain dead loser who's ignoring facts already presented in the other. Bottom line - renewables are great as a suppliment to reduce use of oil or gas etc. but you need to have enough reliable energy online to meet your needs at all times or you put your people in danger.
  19. well almost all of that is completely accurate. There are ties to neighbouring provinces but there are not enough and this has been commented on before by politicians. Scheer wanted to go a step further and create a canada long "Energy conduit" to move oil, gas, AND electricity so that provinces could share what they had and places with surplus power could cover places that were short. And yes - solar and wind lets you turn the gas plants off when it's available and that's great but you still need to have your peak power needs covered by Reliables, not renewables. Alberta is adding new modular reactors which are clean and more affordable but that's going to take time. As to JT... it would be wrong to say he's to blame directly, but he has made numerous threats in the last few years to force the procince to shut down their gas genertaion and his lastest proposed laws will severely limit them, so alberta and sask have been working hard on renewables hoping that would calm him down. Alberta in the last 3 years has actually made an absolutely massive investment in renewables. The decisions were made in alberta and they weren't "Forced" per se, but seriously... yeah, it was jt's policy and pressure that moved them to do that. Imagine being one of the most energy rich places on earth and freezing during a winter storm because you got shy about using that energy.
  20. In the case of canada - it's vastly out of control AND unfortunately it is absolutely the gov'ts fault almost entirely and it's pretty easy to see how it happened. Some of the provincial gov'ts played a supporting role, but the big mistakes of the feds were 1) out of control spending. The current gov't in 7 years has borrowed more money than ALL PREVIOUS GOV"S IN OUR ENTIRE HISTORY COMBINED. When you dump that much unearned dollars into the economy you get massive inflation and cost increases. I mean obviously that's the case. THe scotia bank calculated that if gov't spending had been cut back 3 percent, there would have been no need to raise interest rates to fight inflation. And of course we have tax issues. Payroll and other taxes have gone up and then there's the carbon tax, which is a tax on everything. And unfortunately because its a cumulative stacking tax and not an end user tax (meaning business pays for it, charges it to the next business who pays for it, who charges the next etc so it gets added to the mark up) the consumer often pays for it several times. And that drives up costs. But - the biggie is probably immigration. In 2015 immigration was somewhere around 250 thousand a year. Now it's close to a million and it's been growing every year. THe fact is we do not build enough homes or even come close to cover that kind of increase. We don't train doctors fast enough or nurses etc. And while our supply chains have been decent when you start adding an additional MILLION consumers a year there's no way for food or other producers or importers to catch up or keep up, and that means prices go up So sadly - we should have been cruising through this with no inflation and good cost of living but sadly we're doing worse every year, and our gdp-per-capita is nosediving which means our quality of life is going down as well. Bad times.
  21. This has been absolutely fascinating to me and the lack of media attention has been surprising. I mean there's some but given that the last time we saw a state with it's own military square off with the federal gov't forces it was the beginning of the civil war. Biden can't afford to wind up going to literal war with texas during an election year. THis is going to look absolutely horrible. But if he backs off now he sets the precedent that states CAN have their own 'immigraiton and border' policy and enforce it. What if trump decides to lean into that and give cash to the individual states to take over the enforcement? This will be very interesting to watch play out.
  22. Well lets do a comparison then. Right wingers get angry and riot - a handful are involved - 1 federal building entered, 2.5 million dollars in damages, several police assaulted and a few injuries. Over in a day. Left wingers get angry and riot - millions involved, dozens of federal buildigns entered and damaged, 2.5 BILLION in damages, hundreds of officers assaulted and injured, goes on for months Ding ding ding! Lefties for the win The left is definitely the more angry of the two. THe right is usually just angry when the left starts telling them what to do (which they do because they're angry).
  23. Harbinger has sooooo many calories... They do seem to be getting pretty smoted at the moment. You guys realize we're arguing with a bot, right?
