  1. I don't give a hoot about Q. I love America. Trump is what is best for America.

  2. You are absolutely right. There is no way in hell Trump is going to allow himself to be questioned under oath. The man can't string three sentences together without lying at least twice. He can't afford to be questioned under oath.

  3. Myata does not comprehend that logs is just a generic word. There aren't any Old Growth Ancient Holy poplars or tree limbs or sawdust. Maybe volunteer to come put out the fires we get here when the leftover sawdust from the gyppo mill that closed 30 years ago spontaneously ignites every so often. Understand the biomass plant they built took much longer clearing it all and went way over budget to get the foundation on actual ground at the other one closed 25 years ago. But she did point out one thing: that biomass used up shitloads of grant money, supplied power only to the mills -they never even considered backfeeding to the town itself - , 99% of the original workers were from Spain, when it did startup hired only a few locals and shut down after a year when the feed supply (read that as grant money) ran out. Eventually sold to a conglomerate with the local Band's grant money and no one doubts will shut down again the minute that runs out. You can drive 1 mile out of town and for the next 50 past piles of wood scrap, stumps, broken trees bulldozed into piles and set on fire every winter and that fuel fully wasted. Not turned into pellets, not burned at the bio-mass plant.

  4. You don't know what you're talking about. Low quality logs are chipped for the pulp mills, and used for pellets, etc. Was a logger for 43 years . . . . betting you couldn't tell the difference between hemlock and a ham sandwich.

  6. And the CBC. Trudeau has proven himself to be an embarrassment to Canada, and moreover, the chief assassin of our stability as a nation. I don't think we can wait three years before he is replaced, we need to move him on sooner.

  8. The report doesn't mention why they use the wood pellets. Mixing those in actually reduces the CO2 and pollutants from coal burning plants. Enough to meet the standards there, but diddly squat compared to overall world-wide coal emissions. And "primary forests" simply means where it is most commercially feasible to perform forestry operations. I live there. Pellets are made from sawmill scrap, forest waste and logs not best suited for lumber. So some Old Growth" content might be included. No one cuts down evergreen timber just to make pellets. We do live in a market economy so if the sawmill isn't buying and a pellet plant is that's life. The tree's already cut down. Doesn't happen a lot and not for really good logs. And what's the author's alternative? Stop using the pellets and increase their CO2 output in those coal plants?

  9. Coastal Douglas fir 'old growth' is being protected more and more these days. Some 2nd growth fir is 5+ feet in diameter at the stump. Many folks mistake this as 'old growth' . . . There is nothing wrong with harvesting mixed species cut blocks (logging areas) and getting the value-added bonus from low grade timber in the form of pulp, and pellets, etc. The article is extremely misleading and designed to trigger folks with no knowledge of Canadian (BC) logging sustainability and renewal. It would take pages to lay out the mistakes and deception in the article to folks that know little/nothing about Canada's forest industry.

I don't put much faith in polls, but i thought this one was interesting as most center Conservatives, and members of the left where adamant PP was not the man for the job, it seems people are changing their minds... In Just 10 days Justin has slipped to second place now lagging behind PP. Justins liberals are facing a huge problem in today's numbers in many areas, a lot can change in the years to come before election, just curious on what liberals are thinking. 12. Is there any place at re:politics to discuss TV/Film/Music? I have tried not to miss a single episode of CBS SEAL Team. After watching Episode 3 of the current season S6, it is obvious that the production has compromised its vision in order to accommodate Democrat sensibilities. And I won't want to watch another minute of the series. My protest. However, I probably will watch future episodes. There's no other show on TV which depicts Special Forces (of any or all stripes) carrying out combat missions. I post this and hope I am not violating any rules or stepping on any toes.

Are you intentionally being ignorant or what??? Don’t worry I know you won’t answer or acknowledge this point at all 3) Its Funny that you would even dare to say “for no reason whatsoever” because your whole lame Ukraine-blaming is totally based on Ukraine being the agressor for no reason. In your despot -addled brain, murderous dictators should be rewarded for invading neighbouring countries and countries who get invaded should be blamed for defending themselves and not rewarding the invader

  19. We saw it happen live on television. We saw the footage from the security cameras. The crowd was not peaceful. Police officers were murdered that day. And, by the way, if you beat a person in the head and they die the NEXT day as a result, you’re still charged with murder. That’s the definition of murder, so just because those officers lived another few days is irrelevant. You’re spreading ridiculous lies and you ought to be in prison with the rest of the insurrectionists.

  26. Nope. You just can't read apparently. I said "basically 100%", which is to say that the polio vaccine isn't 100% effective, but it's very close to it. Contrast that with a covid "vaccination" death rate that matches that of the unvaccinated. One of those things is a vaccine. One of those things is definitely not a vaccine. I'll leave you to guess which is which. They don't actually say "flu vaccine" in Canada, they say "flu shot". At least in that instance they don't play pretend. With vaccines that work at 80%, it's enough to provide herd immunity. That's not enough to "vaccinate" an individual, per se, but it's enough to stop the spread within a community, which works almost as well at preventing anyone from getting it. See the charts below. Note the difference in the number of deaths between May 1 and Aug 21. You'll see that 88% of the deaths that occurred between those dates were among the dbl-vaxed, triple-vaxed and quadruple-vaxed. Thanks you Lancet, for doing this: FYI that is not a statistic, it is a projection based upon their estimates, which is based upon lab results. You're the one who's calling "gossip" stats. The number of actual people who were fully vaxed and died, compared to the number of actual people who were unvaxed and died, within the exact same country under the exact same conditions, is the statistic that trumps all others. Especially those derived through models which are basic solely on the expectations of the people who are promoting the pseudovax. I personally don't care what the Lancet "predicts". The Lancet is the same mag that had to retract their bogus HCQ "study" or whatever they called it. FWIW I don't care if HCQ works or not, the lies that were told about it by vax-pushers were completely outrageous. I never saw a group of people so hopeful that a cost effective treatment wouldn't work. It's weird. Stop equating groping with rape. There are women who don't mind being groped, sorry to say, and they're not hard to spot. At least one senator too, apparently. I've been married since '05. I don't have any need or desire to grope bubbleheads. You made an idiotic comment to the effect that "fair outcomes" are at an all-time high, and "privileged people are upset" blah, blah, blah. Fair outcomes nosedived in 2015. The basic safety of Americans started dropping in 2015. It's just a fact, and the people affected the most by rioting and violent crime are the ones in poorer neighbourhoods. Crime isn't spiking in Pelosiville. I just disproved that BS in my earlier post. America peaked at some point before 2015. Back when politicians didn't cheer for riots, and when media outlets didn't lie to keep them going. Wahh, wahh, waah, no one gives a crap about what you think. We're grounded in reality here. Or at least I'll speak for those of us who are. Merits? The only things that you're good at are getting sucked in by propaganda and regurgitating said propaganda from what I can see. Hint: When you look at the charts below, don't get hung up on the fact that the unvaxed deaths seem so much higher: 1) They started counting on the very first day that anyone in Canada received their first shot, so there were zero fully 'protected' people for several months, and 100% of Canadians were unvaxed on the first day. 2) That data set starts in the middle of a flu season, and covid deaths follow the flu season trends. Basically 100% of Canadians were unvaxed for the first 3 months of the data set, which is the middle-to-end of the 2020/'21 flu season. Fully vaxed people only existed during the 2021/22 flu season. 3) If you add the dbl-, triple- and quadruple-jabbed deaths, they're approaching equality with the unvaxed now. 9,100 vs 10,600. Cheers Hodad ?

  29. The wood is used. You don't know what you're talking about. Pulp/paper, cardboard, pellets, bark/debris burned as fuel for pulp mills, etc. Do you think forestry workers just spend huge amounts for machinery, wages, fuel, time, etc. just so they can "raze entire forests" without a use for the wood and compensation for their time and labour? Think of the forestry workers every time you reach for the toilet paper.

The FBI is America's KGB. There are too many examples of their crimes and political involvement for them to be considered a legitimate police force.

  32. 88% you say? This is what is called a specious argument. It's meant to appear reasonable and to fool folks who aren't paying attention. Someone may have gotten one over on you. I suspect you're tapped into some bad media. To explain, as vaccination rates increase, obviously any outcome, good or ill, will befall the vaccinated to a higher degree. If Canada were 100% vaccinated then 100% of COVID deaths would be among the vaccinated. I think the reality is closer to 90% vaccination among adults. But at any rate that's a statistic meant to mislead. Science is certainly not a "monster" and vaccination has saved countless lives. And it is plainly and factually incorrect to claim that the COVID vaccines are not vaccines. Again, I can only assume you've tapped into some garbage media and have chosen to believe those claims over those of every medical body in the world. I'd suggest looking to authoritative sources. I gave up on the idea that politicians were meant to be role models a long time ago. And in the US our former president demeaned women, boasted about sexually assaulting women, cheated on all 3 of his wives, paid for sex with porn stars, stole from his own charity and ran a scam education program--and the religious right flocked to him in droves. So yeah, some state senator doing a goofy dance on the beach is honestly the least of my worries when it comes to moral public service. Are you familiar with the philosopher John Rawls? He advanced a theory of justice, that is very influential, the cornerstone of which is a thought experiment called the "veil of ignorance." It asks you to imagine that you will be born into the world without knowing anything of your circumstance-- your sex, your gender, your sexuality, your class, your race, your location, your religion etc. are all unknown. How then would you design a society and legal structure? I bring it up because though our world is far from perfect, it is certainly not in decline. Put yourself in that experiment and try to imagine any point in history in which you would have a better, fairer shot at a happy life. It doesn't exist. There is no point in history in which you can shake up all those random variables and be assured of a better, fairer outcome. Society is not collapsing, nor is it in decline. But there are certain privileged and entitled groups that feel pretty angry about the idea of a fairer world.

Instead of looking at the facts and understanding that geologic erosion, light transmission, radioactive decay, etc. etc. all indicate that the earth and the universe it resides within are VASTLY, INCOMPREHENSIBLY older than 6000 years you turn to the magic explanation that God faked it all to look older. I liked Reagan, I liked Bush Sr, I liked Clinton far more than Dubya, I liked Obama initially, and I thought that his presidency was initially on track to be a huge plus for the US. From 2015 until now I've been pushed farther and farther to the right. It would take an act of God for me to respect the Dems now.

  44. I'm not arguing, i am stating a fact that 650.00 dollars is not going to make the change you think it is going to. And yes, that funding should be put in health care, which is desperately needed for all Canadians. most people working have dental care provided by their employer, or company insurance plan, so really, we are talking about a small minority of Canadians that need it and yet it cost billions to implement, billions that could be used in health care. We do not need any more expense social programs that divert money from other more important programs, such as health care. Unless you're of the opinion that Canadian health is perfect as it is now and dumping billions into would be a waste...and that these programs, childcare, and dental care, trump Health care. Just so i am clear, our health care is in shambles, before we go on a spend 10's of billions on new programs perhaps, we should fix the ones we already have...

  48. You make it sound like both those programs are critical to the country, where Dental care is only 650 a year, every been to the dentist with a teenager, 650 does not go as far as you'd like it, and the housing benefit, is a small portion you paid in HST, i get it every bit is good, but don't act as if they are the Lifes blood of the nation. So, Ya those would be a start, along with some others. maybe put those billions into health care would be a start. maybe some into our security apparatus, infra structure...I think the majority of Canadians are more concerned about waiting 12 hours in emergency, here in NB we have had 2 people already die waiting...now that beats the little savings from dental care.
