My predictions. How about yours? - Avi Lewis wins the NDP leadership. Three weeks later all the other NDP MP's cross the floor to the Liberals. - PeePee gets 51% in leadership review, claims 'Landslide Victory', gets his staff busy writing more slogans. - Donald Trump has massive stroke. No one notices. Has his caddy play for him while he naps in the cart, before waking to claim victory. - Linsey Graham suffocates when his head gets permanently stuck in Trump's ass. - Canada, Mexico and US spend 10 months negotiating a new trade deal. Two hours before signing Trump chokes on a Big Mac, cancels the deal, and puts a 200% tariff on burger buns. - Wab Kinew forgets to smile at press conference. - Danielle Smith uses 'Notwithstanding' clause 26 times, throws down gauntlet to Francois Legault: "Let's see what you got." - Putin says he wants peace. Keeps blowin' up stuff anyway. - Netenyahoo says he wants peace. Keeps blowin' up stuff anyway. - Trump says he wants peace prize. Keeps blowin' up stuff anyway. - Canadian Premiers all say they want to end trade barriers in Canada, then claim dozens of exceptions. - Carney repeats "Canada has the best deal". Trump raises tariffs. - Democrats find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. - All economic and political problems continue to be Trudeau's, Biden's or Obama's. - I continue to be poor, but somehow still eat very well.2 points

Well it bloody well should be. Clearly the right-wing slant on governance is that everyone should just bow down to their betters and do what they're told. Fock dat.1 point

Is there going to be plaques for ever race, religion denoting that they to served in defeating the worlds great evil empire ...It is not about taking down plaques, it's about stopping the flood of other plaques waiting in the wings....Asian, African, Spanish, Jewish plaques, Muslim plaques, and so on....not to mention all the other different ethic back grounds...Why can't there just be a list of names, service numbers, and what unit they were from , date of death....no colors, no religion, no anything just soldiers, airman, and sailors or marines...Why do we need to complicate the whole issue...1 point

I don't see how any of what you mention can explain why the CDS would announce we are ready, when we ALL know that is not true, we as Canadians have been bombarded by the media stating the opposite. Gen Eyra was explicit in his thoughts about the next conflict which was looming just over the horizon....Present CDS acknowledge all of that in here acceptance speech...So how do we go from being drastically unprepared last year to ready this year....sorry you'll have to walk me through that ?.... Trump actions are responsible for our push in equipment purchases...meeting our 2 % GDP, and now 5 %....Trump is not siding with Russia he wants that peace prize for solving that conflict....and he does not care what it takes....I'm not a fan of trump , but he is shaping the way Canada does business today, our thinking on our military is one, divesting our economy is another... both of these issues have been a issue for Canada for years....and no one fixed them because they were to hard to....How many times have we stated we need to diverse our economy away from China, and the US....to many times to count...Trump has done that in less than 2 years...1 point

I think there are lots of Euro nations already in the early process of mobilization, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, debating conscription, rebuilding war stocks, many of Europe's military manufactures are clogged with orders..So yes some NATO nations have entered that mobilization. Canada's top general is lying her ass off....What is her motive for announcing such a disturbing announcement....just last year she said the exact opposite, so i ask what has changed in one year....we still have a critical shortage of every major battle field piece of equipment to fighters to ships to ground equipment....What she meant to say is yes in case of conflict Canada will send it's troops in shoddy equipment because that is their job...to go where our government sends us ready or not....The list of modern equipment that is battle ready for todays conflicts is very very short....while the list of equipment that is past due or in the procurement stage is longer than a NHL hockey rink... Not to mention a critical shortage of bullets and bombs...so Yes we are ready for day one on day two, people are coming back in bags... She is due for retirement, it is time to look for her replacement...first the Civil service plan, now stating to the rest of the country we are ready....why would the average Canadian support new purchases if the CDS is claiming we are ready.... https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/new-top-soldier-warns-canada-needs-to-be-ready-for-the-threats-that-are-coming/article_78d43886-452c-11ef-b9d5-87dd5b0bb187.html As Carignan noted, however, the Canadian military she now commands faces many significant challenges. Aging equipment will take years and many billions of dollars to repair and replace. The institution has been rocked in recent years by sexual misconduct scandals that forced a reckoning over the military’s internal culture, with Carignan recently charged with trying to shepherd through a series of reforms to address it. And the armed forces is dealing with a major shortage of personnel Blair has previously described as a “death spiral” for the military.1 point

Sometimes I just skim it I've made no secret of the fact that a lot of the time I post on the fly when I have a few seconds And I tend to use a lot of voice dictation. That's how I pump out posts fairly quickly. I often go back when I have more time and edit any errors. But most people are big boys with big boy pants on who can overlook a few errors and they know what I mean so that's what matters. As I frequently overlook other people's small mistakes as well. But it's hilarious that you have no actual argument and the only thing you can whine about is I don't take time to proofread every post to you on every occasion 😆😆😆😆 Like, that's all you've got and you're clinging to it desperately I hate to break it to you, but so far you just never been worth my time to invest the extra effort If you're finding it emotionally crippling then let me know and I'll send a note home to your mother authorizing an additional cookie and a nap for you LOL!1 point

I never said they were not MSM, but it is folks like you, as evidenced by some of the comments here, that do not think Fox News is news. Care to actually respond to the point I was making now or just continue trying to be obtuse about it instead? Of course, the person who loves turning discussions into obfuscation/obtuse points the most would celebrate that comment. You know what else you missed? Ever coming back to own up to your woeful dishonesty about Rebel News in the other thread talking about media.1 point

Well it's pretty hard to argue cold statistics against a picture that's obvious, and a literal picture of brutal looking criminals, all immigrants. But it's possible. Immigration will never be zero. And criminals will always get in. You'd need more to establish want went wrong with these criminals and the system. I'm always interested in having a serious conversation, but last time I tried people insisted on making the discussion about me and my failings, and when I asked them to be more serious they told me that I didn't like people who disagree with me. I do think that you're a better poster than most in this regard for whatever it's worth.1 point

People get tired of our funeral director in chief flying all over the world and making grandiose promises as the economy deteriorates, food costs skyrocket, foreign investment continues to diminish, ethnic mobs take over the streets, crime makes people fearful of leaving their homes, and nothing whatsoever seems to be getting done to change any of that other than massive deficits for Canada and massive profits for Brookfield.1 point

Propaganda.... LMAO! I disagree. You just end up with corporate propaganda. Sure. You go pay for the military and all the corporate subsidies out of yours.1 point
-
This is complete nonsense. State funded media has advantages that corporate media simply cannot. So you don't get a balance, what you get is a lopsided view. Also the CBC claims to be a government-funded organization and claims that this gives it more legitimacy, which uneducated people will believe. It's assumed that something that is funded by the government must be impartial and highly professional and that's absolutely not the case If you want an honest system that portrays both sides of the story then you get rid of government funded media entirely and you let the free market do its job. Then you get the CNN's and the fox news and people can listen to both and make a decision But there is no universe where I should have to pay my money to an organization to say lies and run propaganda for a political party i disagree with.1 point

No there isn't. At all. It ain't even occurred when einstein wrote that letter. All Einstein said was that the creation of the Jewish state may lead to long term unrest because palestine wouldn't accept it, and AFTER that he said that he had faith that the nation of israel and it's people would be fine. You can't draw a "clear line" between events that never happened yet. It doesn't exist. It's a fabrication that you try and create to justify your hatred of Jews. But it's not real. The only reason that the violence and hatred continues is because the Palestinians prefer violence and hatred. But I love that you're trying to sell the idea that the Palestinians are like "The massacre was totally justified, I have a note from Einstein!" what a twat.1 point

You are confused. Euthanasia is actively killing someone. You and everyone should be providing compassionate care for people in need of it, not offering to end their misery by killing them. That is just plain wrong. What are you saying about "taking up valuable medical resources"? Everyone is entitled to health care as long as they are alive. It's not up to you to decide who can live and who must die. That is God's business. People who are suffering should be given every possible resource to ease their pain. There are many types or kinds of pain killers and methods that are used. If a person no longer wants extraordinary medical intervention, that is different than taking steps to actively kill them. MAID is killing by poison, plain and simple. It is active killing. The purpose of the medical system is to provide compassionate care for everyone until our Creator takes them out of this life. It is grossly wrong to think you can play God.1 point

This could be an entire thread. It was the predictable result of allowing demographic concentrations to grow (meaning fester) within the relative isolation of ethnic enclaves. It takes the form of "Sharia Councils" where participation is "voluntary" and it passes muster as a dispute arbitration process. Given the population density of some jurisdictions though, I see little hope of changing this without draconian action. Here's the rub though: not long ago the Herbs of the world ridiculed the very idea that this would happen, now they defend it as being culturally sensitive and voluntary. Well, it's not really voluntary within that community. What Herb doesn't see is the fact that even as he defends it, he has no other choice but to defend it... these councils are here to stay and his opinion has now been rendered irrelevant... just like the ones he used to ridicule. As to cancellations based on threat assessments expect more to come. I noted in the piece above that drone attacks received honourable mention and that's the only reason I'm even commenting on it. It's good to see that those in charge are reading and heeding the assessments though. Conservative minded folks won't like it, but they're doing the right thing here IMO. It's unfortunate... but I would be cancelling some of these celebrations too and for the same reason. At present there is insufficient awareness and deployable countermeasures in place to defend against it. Explosive solutions are the next phase in this scenario, they're cheap, easy and horrific. It's going to catch Herb by surprise when it happens (same as the the Sharia law thing) because he's too busy grabbing shotguns from duck hunters. It's a matter of perspective... and Herb has none.1 point
