not at all him and that blond wacko that came on pow and politics don't have a clue how rural communities work. it was clear the PP host whos from NL new tons more about rural canada then her who as the shadow minister should be more knowledgeable on the topic. all she could say is i dont believe it when he would tell her locals wont take these jobs in some small rural areas she was clueless.. you cant just end the programs it would end tons of buisness in small towns like mine and in NL .. even tim powers whos a conservative admitted it basically you cant just end it like PP is saying.. i am all for them lowing the temp workers in places like tims and fast food cause you should be able to find locals. but some jobs locals just won't do them like fish plants for example..2 points

tfw actually helps the place i work at because its gone thru all the locals and they all quit or dont show up for work . so without them i would be without a job that pays me decent over 20$ a hour.. but like herbie said PP is just rage baiting he wont actually end it if he won power ... his buddys all use the program to much. it needs to be tweaked not deleted2 points

It's also because PP is so unpopular. I think one of the tariffs is because his eyes are so close together.2 points

Carney is pausing the EV mandate, just like Pierre said should happen. Another policy that Pierre was ahead of and correct on. At this point, we really just need Pierre as PM, as Carney is just a middle man. Oh my, turns out the ocean isn’t even rising that much. “ The research found that the average sea level rise in 2020 was only around 1.5mm per year, or 6 inches per century, according to the paper’s authors, Dutch engineering consultant Hessel Voortman and independent researcher Rob de Vos. “1 point

Celeb activists say dumb stuff? Colour me shocked. People should listen to the scientific community about science, not Leonardo Dicaprio or internet forum posters.1 point

Look i've said this thousands times already, YOUR nation the USA, has been doing these military operations around the world for decades....you could include Mine nation as well....And i'm sure they have offices upon offices of lawyers and judges, that they seek to find out "IF" they can kill terrorist....now that includes republican and democrats presidents do you really think they would be that stupid and not follow the rule of law, or national security policies... Please show us the proof you have that these guys were not toughly vetted....Your just assuming like i am assuming that there is a long list of check list items that need to be checked before your military blows something out of the water... They are very important to everyone, however there are national security policies that take president over domestic and inter national laws...being declared a terrorist gives nations another set of powers to arrest or eliminate these people....if terrorist were treated like anyone else...why declare them terrorist at all, WHY have several different class of fugitives... I wonder does your CIA get court orders when they kill someone ? or is all of those stories in the media just Hollywood stories...they make for great reading but not really true...1 point

I found this article at the NP, TRIGGER WARNING for those that support terrorist or Palestine....It is an "opinion piece" and how these recognized inter national organizations have changed the definitions of words like famine, Genocide, to the benefit of Hamas...to support their mega propaganda machine..it also changed to benefit the lefts talking points.... Opinion: International legal standards are being watered down to demonize Israel Opinion: International legal standards are being watered down to demonize Israel1 point

How in the name of thundering Jaysus can any right-thinking person say that? Russian invaded Ukraine. Ukraine is merely trying to defend itself. The bad guy here could not be clearer.1 point

No. But the onus is on you to prove motivation. You claimed Trump is doing it to become a dictator. Prove it.1 point

You love Trump so much you would betray your country and even lie about the children he raped, saying they recanted their story. Just think about that—-lying to protect paedophilia.1 point

If you are talking about fish plants, I am sure they will do the same. This is just an announcement on the site of what they are planning to do. The spirit of the idea is basically what Shady pointed out about Tim Hortons.1 point

More like, in spite of all the scientific and physical evidence piling up, people don’t believe it because they don’t want to. The guy who is leading the fight against spraying is also saying the increased number and intensity of the fires is due to global warming.1 point

Inflation rising, unemplyment rising, manufacturing dropping, soldiers in the streets, Huge geo-political losses, kissing Putin's ass, allowing Netenyahoo's genocide, bringing back measles, polio, rubella , etc..., declaring war on Democratic cities, gerrymandering on steroids, shutting down medical research... And many other "positive" effects. Says a lot about what you like in a politician.1 point

You don’t care about rule of law. You support this madness. You support the open borders lawlessness. All you care about is cheap politics as if you are scoring points on this forum pushing whatever mindless leftist talking points you picked up for the week.1 point

While I’m fine with modifying the program, completely getting rid of it would be a disaster for some communities in Canada. It’s a non-starter. I’m going to contact my local Conservative MP and see if he is willing to defend this proposal. He must know what it would mean in his riding.1 point

Sure...if any government had listened to forest ecologists that were prescribing stand diversity, allowing natural fires to burn or God forbid leaving trees behind they would have been dismissed as wild-eyed communist anti-capitalist hippies. Get a vape pen. I doubt you could start a fire with one even if you were drunk.1 point

So produce the science that shows that. You've been asked for it a billion times. It seems it doesn't exist. So no, it isn't. No it isn't. The IPCC is evidence that people will lie for money. Which should make you feel like a twat for doing it for free all the time1 point

The least you expect from populists is that they are more in touch with what’s going on in Canada than the ‘elitists’ at CBC. I experienced the opposite when listening to Rempel the other night. She hadn’t a clue about life in rural Newfoundland whereas Cochrane did.1 point

Of course there isn't. But a LOT of young people won't take them. Only in the last year the local Subway found local kids. The TFWs were here for years and half them are now landed. Local teen won't mow lawns for ONLY $20. My Dad makes $40 hr. Told the kid these tiny city lots only take you 20 minutes, that is $60 an hour. Must still be busy scratching his head, never came back since June. This summer the kids are taking those jobs the talk on TV about it helps scare them into it. Wendys ot nothing. Like what is it now $17 something minimum? Ot ZERO. Choose. ( I have 2 friends with boys that graduated this year and last that just will not even look for work. Parents scared to boot them out thinking they'll end up street druggies Funny that all the girls are working. )1 point

I saw Rempel trying to defend this populist move on Power and Politics the other day. Her heart wasn’t really in it, especially after Cochrane actually presented real world examples of Canadian workers being very hard to find in outback Canadian locales like his own province of NL which I can confirm right the way through the social spectrum. From Tim Hortons to the GP clinic we would be royally screwed out here without foreigners. They do the work. Meanwhile my taxes pay for a ‘local’ med school that supplies doctors exclusively for the city - apparently wifi not good enough here plus so much call sucks. Indeed, some of these precious darlings come with a long list of what they won’t do out in the sticks. Do you want us all to move to a shanty town around Toronto? Banlieue might sound better until you see it. If PP wants to MODIFY the program, fair enough, but he should do his homework first. National economic change needs to be carefully considered, sensitive to regional differences, and gradual. Do I have to say that?1 point

The letter is below. There's nothing controversial in the letter. The majority of Liberal MP's who didn't sign this letter are vile cowards worried more about votes and backlash from antisemites than protecting Jewish minorities in this country from hatred and violence. They've turned their backs on the Jewish community. The Liberal Party has no honour or integrity or courage and don't represent Canadian values or liberal democratic values. They prove it time and again. They're pandering to hateful antisemites FFS. How can people keep voting for a party unwilling to defend our basic democratic values when it's politically inconvenient to them? This is a pretty big story IMO.1 point

You asked for evidence of the climate situation being a crisis. Now you're moving the goalposts and looking for a specific set of circumstances, like a photo of a pangolin fùcking a bat in a wet market or something.1 point
-
The biggest piece of evidence that climate change is a crisis is the IPCC that was created by the United Nations to address the situation. Why on Earth would all the planet's countries do such a thing if it wasn't a crisis situation? Oh, and it's evidenced even better by the deliberate never-ending effort to create indifference to it.1 point
