The floods are not a political issue. They are weather. And weather is, at times, difficult to predict and impossible to control. For these people, though, this was an opportunity to celebrate the deaths of children, families and every day people in the furtherance of their ideology that they claim is about peace, love and tolerance. I will never understand the level of depravity it takes to be so hate filled as to celebrate the tragic deaths of children just because they MIGHT be the children of the opposite political lean. Let's be clear about that. Liberals don't know what the ideology of these victims is. Yet, they celebrate their deaths like a sports fan celebrates a win. Liberals are truly disgusting people.4 points

What's your evidence for this? Looking at the maps, in 2025 they reduced the amount of suburbs and increased the rural area for PP's riding: 2021: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carleton_(Ontario_federal_electoral_district)#/map/0 2025: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carleton_(Ontario_federal_electoral_district)#/map/1 Yes. The PPC didn't run this election and those would logically go to the CPC. The NDP, Greens, and Bloc all lost votes this election, and some went to the CPC but most went to the Liberals. The Liberals gained 11.1% compared to 2021, and the CPC gained 7.6%. And in PP's riding virtually nobody voted NDP or Green. He scared the left to vote Liberal because of his Trumpisms. Remember, in the previous 2 elections the CPC actually won the popular vote, but they lost the popular vote this time. PP blew it, with Trump's help with all the 51st state crap and tariffs. People saw Carney as more anti-Trump and more likely to fight back on him, while PP seemed more Trump-friendly. Trump screwed PP's chances and PP just made the situation worse. Keep in mind I was for the CPC over the Liberals last election. And sorry but if you're the party leader and keep standing in front of a podium with "Canada First" written on it and spout Trump-like policy proposals that's on you. They doubled down on the Trump-like branding and it didn't work, it was an incredibly stupid political strategy given the anti-Trump sentiment in the country. Sure maybe he wasn't the one who thought of it, but he ok'd it and implemented it. Like I said before, he's gotta read the room FFS.2 points

Just saying if there is a will we as a nation can accomplish anything, like vimy ridge, Juno beach, telephone communications, it is easy to say it can't be done, things never get done that way... Manitoba is and wants to expand on that port ,climate change may or may not change that environment where the port can only be used a few months...but expanding the port will expand that city, bring more resources to it...and it gives our nation another port in which to export our products, not just oil and gas, but anything...1 point

The difference was that the LA fires were specifically far worse than necessary because of choices that the governor made not to repair water wells and reservoirs that were needed to fight it. He let them sit dry for over a year instead of repairing them and that's why the fires were that bad.. But even then there's no comparison. Blaming a politician for not having their state readys one thing and perhaps fair game. But these people are legitimately straight up saying the people who died deserved what they got. Not the politicians, not the governor, but the people who died. Texans. Texas deserves this happening to it. I'm sure even you with your low moral standards could see the difference. Reveling in the fact that people are dead is not okay especially when it's not just one or two people here or there but where it seems like a group by large is thinking the same way. It would seem that the left is rushing to revel in the blood of children, there were freaking girl scouts at camp and stuff who died and they're thrilled about it.1 point

Yes, it is vastly different because we identify and target the policies that led to the disaster and you celebrate the deaths of people. That is disgusting.1 point

Sure weather was involved, but it was MORE about mismanagement. You see pervert, there are two types of people in government: The doers and the deliberators. The doers actually get shit done. The deliberators (Newscum & Sea Bass) either just flap their gums or take trips to Ghana (probably on the tax payer's dime).1 point

Learn to read.... The water system that supplies neighborhoods simply doesn’t have the capacity to deliver such large volumes of water over several hours, said Martin Adams, former general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. “The system has never been designed to fight a wildfire that then envelops a community,” Adams said in an interview with The Times. The local water supply system in the Palisades area is designed to flow with enough gallons a minute to fight a house fire or a blaze in apartments or commercial buildings, Adams said. “Then you have a massive fire over the whole community and you have 10 times as many fire units, all pulling water out of the system at once.”1 point

We just elected a complete f-tard who lied to us over and over for two months, and so the same flock of sheep that followed Trudeau blindly is now following Carney blindly. That happened because our democracy failed. Our democracy failed because our MSM is completely compromised. Their bias is way beyond healthy to the point where they've groomed millions of cultists like you. You're seeing the world from the end-of-my-own-nose POV. FYI the majority of the people in any regional leadership structure always thought that their way of life was the right one and it would just go on forever, whether they were part of tribes in the stone age, or the feudal system in Europe, they were part of an empire, or in our case a "democracy". Well guess what Barqy - democracy isn't in our mammalian DNA or even our human DNA. It's a foreign concept that we're raised with, but people's natural tendency is to live under authoritarian rule, the way left4rds did during covid. You sacrificed freedom of speech and let the MSM/social media trample sensible discourse. Those things are essential to democracy. When they're gone, democracy is an illusion. You're voting for "pre-selected leaders who have fake solutions to the fake problems that the media presents to you". That's it. Democracy is only a few hundred years old. It's still an experiment, not "the new way, which is guaranteed to last forever". If you value democracy, then you would value MSM legitimacy more than LPOC control, but you do not.1 point

They would be. But the problem is the solutions the liberals and the left put forward cost money but don't actually achieve anything. If the carbon tax had made some sort of actual difference then people might not mind paying it. But it is crystal clear that all it did was hurt our economy badly, take money out of the hands of people and put money in the hands of the liberal government which they then spent on their friends through single sourced contracts. I think they pay for it if they saw that they were getting something. But the whole thing is kind of a hoax, I mean if Canada eliminated every single ounce of output of greenhouse gases it would still change nothing. Until the big polluters get serious nothing we do matters. We would be vastly better off putting our money into research for energy storage, energy creation that's clean such as nuclear power, and similar technologies that would allow us to affordably move away from greenhouse gas energy production and would allow for true electric vehicle technology that actually made sense and worked for everybody. Developing technology to allow us to adapt to a new climate reality. Sadly we wasted 10 years doing something utterly useless so that Justin Trudeau can retire on $1,000 a plate suppers without doing a damn thing for the environment. That's just going to make him angry. Proving your point and proving that he was dishonest is the height of being a Nazi as far as the left is concerned1 point

An absolute tragedy and nightmare for those affected... I can only imagine the grief that parents are dealing with right now. Truly devastating.... Your comments on liberals however is somewhat disingenuous don't you think? I seem to recall some *sshole who wears orange make-up blaming "Newscum" and democrats for the LA fires, which were also weather related. But guessing that's different.... The posts you show are from individuals. Let's see how many elected democrat officials are as crass as Trump was.1 point
-
It's changing, but North American's are generally not serious about the climate if they have to pay for it. Doesn't matter whether it's building materials, how we heat/cool our homes, or our choice of vehicles. Like most purchasing decisions we make the perceived value of that purchase and your financial position will influence those choices. Beyond the impact to our wallets and debatable concerns of what carbon tax does to an economy, there is little argument to not try and evolve to a cleaner society. Affordability for many is the reality though and is going to dictate the support for that. And for what it's worth.... our energy grid is probably a little more robust than the US's, but an infrastructure concern for both as the electrification of the world evolves.1 point

I think there could be many other different cuts...take the GG position and all her travels, same as MP travels, cutting back on MP benefits, dinners, unnecessary travel, "and do the same thing on the provincial level as well, as the feds are not the only ones over spent... get rid of dental care , child care, and others they are nice to have and only serve the minority of Canadians...Shit i could cut the military's budget by billions by cutting stupid projects, like spending your budget at end year or fear losing it....how about giving bonus to people that do hand in their surpluses...thats right across the board on all fed departments..foreign aid there is 29 plus bil right there, let someone else spend their money on gender studies in ghana....or providing palestinians with condoms...lets mark out those social programs that we do need like health care, programs like OAS,and CPP....cut back on programs like welfare, here in NB welfare is an entire industry, force people back top work....hunger does that to people leave welfare to those that really need it.... I don't think you can go that fast ,i'm pretty sure a large chunk of that 9 bil given this year will be returned... Military is not geared up to spend that amount now, or in a few years....The procurement departments need to be totally revamped, streamlined, gutted really and rebuilt...on both sides the Military, and on Federal procurement department....taking politics for the most part out of the buy....feds can tell the military how much money is available, military should be able to purchase what it wants, with minimum interference from other politicians or departments...believe it or not many other federal departments have a say in military procurement, take indigenous affairs for instance they have a say to see if this product can be supply by indigenous services...the entire process takes decades to complete With that said that project will take years to complete before we can even spend what we had before the extra 9 bil...yes the military's has been giving back bils for years now...becasue the current rules make it mission impossible to get things done in a timely basis. we have trashed our economy already we are like some teenager with his first job, spending way more than we earn...using multi credit cards to pay for each other...So we have some major choices that need to be made, cheaping out on our core responsibilities no longer cuts it...time to give back all those social projects we can't afford right now... lets also be very clear...5 % is not a perminate number it is to get us back in shape where the alliance can be effective...Canada is not the only nation to cash in thoise peace bonds all of europe has...1 point

This thread assumes there ever was something "democratic" in our way of governing. As with everything around this subject, it quickly evolves to "mine is better than yours" - when in fact nothing the grants privilege to one group over another can in any way be considered "democratic". The real discussion needs to be how to eliminate partisanship and made every vote of every kind a "free" vote in which elected representatives represent those who elected them, not those who contributed to their party, their election or far more likely to their inferred and conferred benefits from being "part of the winning team". Do this and remove ability of running any kind of deficit without plebecite and we would be on the democratic road - for the first time in history.1 point

The Liberals had led the country into the worst state its been arguably since WWII/Depression era. PP let some political rookie come in and take the election from him. The CPC were up in the polls by at least 10 points since late 2023 until Trudeau resigned and Trump opened his dumb fat mouth. On Jan 1st this year the polls were 45% CPC, 20% Liberals, 19% NDP. https://338canada.com/polls.htm1 point

LMAO your response is hilarious when you consider the defecits are always biggest under republicans especially when the Republicans control the white house, senate and house of representatives as they do now I don’t pretend to care about the debt. I’ve said repeatedly that there’s no reason to ever pay off the debt or even pay it down. I’ve said repeatedly while debt can become unsustainable beyond a certain threshold as long as that threshold is never crossed it’s a non-issue. Whats hilarious is that shrieking about balancing the budget and paying off debt is a PRIMARY PILLAR of conservatism and they shriek that anyone who doesn’t subscribe to their dogma is a Stalin-worshipping Davos WEF Communist Corporatist Atheist Islamist who secretly wants to enslave the world. But in reality they’re the worst offenders at running deficits and increasing debt.1 point

LOL no they don’t. Tens of Millions of Americans were able to afford healthcare under Obama’s budget. Trump’s bill takes healthcare away from tens of millions. Biden’s budget gave tax breaks for buying zero emissions vehicles. Trump’s budget cancels that and gives tax breaks for gun silencers Bush’s massive deficit was for his ginned up fraudulent invasion of Iraq based on his administration’s lies and fabrications, that killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and thousands of American troops1 point

Yeah, as I thought, no citations or definitions. One dumbass saying something once doesn't make it part of the English language. If it did, every mispronunciation and written mistake would be a word. Kovfefe! Merriam-Webster: "English includes other portmanteaus, such as brunch (breakfast and lunch) and dramedy (drama and comedy). Following Carroll's lead, English speakers have come to call these fairly common words by the not-so-common name for a type of traveling bag with two compartments." Fairly Common! Understand? If in a year or two, we start shearing oddfuscation being used a lot, it will be a portmanteau. But don't hold your breath.1 point

And still losing an election he should have won! La-hoo-sa-her. as Ace Ventura would say.1 point

You don't know what a portmanteau is? Sure, here you go. Sentences and everything. noun noun: portmanteau; plural noun: portmanteaux; plural noun: portmanteaus; noun: portmanteau word; plural noun: portmanteau words 1. a large trunk or suitcase, typically made of stiff leather and opening into two equal parts. 2. a word blending the sounds and combining the meanings of two others, for example motel (from ‘motor’ and ‘hotel’) or brunch (from ‘breakfast’ and ‘lunch’). "podcast is a portmanteau, a made-up word coined from a combination of the words iPod and broadcast" consisting of or combining two or more aspects or qualities. modifier noun: portmanteau "a portmanteau movie composed of excerpts from his most famous films" I'm honestly embarrassed for you that you needed to ask me for a definition of that. I don't know how you get through high school without knowing what a portmanteau is. You, your teachers, and your parents should all be very embarrassed by this.1 point

So what were the most serious crimes they were let in for? You don’t know. I told you why? If you had a highly skilled person who committed an indiscretion in their youth and nothing since, why wouldn’t you let then in. First thing you've said that is accurate.... Why would I 'admit' our democracy is comprised when it is not. Regarding your foolish claims of bribery, let's look at it this way.... CBC is a public broadcaster that relies on government funding. Considering the only government we've had in power for 10+ years now is liberal so of course this is who provides the funding. We don't know what the conservatives would have done because they can't seem to win a federal election. Let's revisit when/if they do to see whether they choose to fund or not fund.1 point
-
The link you posted was quite clear about how it is being applied. You just want to believe serious criminals are being admitted with nothing to back it up. If a person has a minor crime on their record years ago and nothing since, why not let them in if they have skills that are in demand.1 point
