  6. But it has but it hasn't. People are still wrestling with the idea that they can't afford food and housing and that's not fear-based However the problem is that what fear there is has prompted NDP and block voters to jump to the liberals. The conservatives are actually doing quite well, it's just that those individuals are streaming to the liberals because they absolutely hate and detest the conservatives and they hope that Carney is the answer because they know that jagmeet is not but their hatred and bigotry won't allow them to consider the CPC. The Conservatives really CAN'T address that effectively. They can pull younger ndp because those people want food and housing and they've already taken much of them before this started. but they really can't appeal to the others who are older left wingers. They have to chip away at the blue libs and they've had some success there. However this feels like a time of crisis and in a time of crisis people tend to stay with what they know, and it's hard to beat that. It's worth mentioning again that at any other point in our history, 39 percent in the polls is a majority gov't. It's not like the cpc are doing badly.

  7. No one is stopping vacations, they are just changing destinations. Canadian visitors alone contributed over 20 billion a year to the US economy, supporting about 140,000 jobs. Rebuilding eh. So far all we have seen is demolition of the economy, government and reputation.

  10. I have always said that wise lefties would push for conservative gov'ts federally and left wing ndp gov'ts provincially or at the city level. Generally speaking that works best and they get a lot of their social agenda done but the more right of center people are still happy and generally don't fight it because federally they don't feel 'oppressed'.

  12. Absolutely, I can understand that. I liked a lot of older music as well. But I didn't like much of what my grandfather listened to. I was a 90s teen, but I listened to mostly 60s and 70s music back then. But I was a minority. What stands out to me now is how much more common it is for kids to be into music that is 40 - 50 years old. I think a lot of it is that as far as the music industry is concerned rock n roll is dead. Or just any kind of band music is dead. I mean of course it still exists but it's very indie. A lot of kids still love that raw powerful music.

  15. It may come as a surprise to you but the world does not revolve around you and your feelings about what you need to know. There are other people. Were you criticizing CBC when they asked Pierre the same question? Are you referring to intersex, for example?

  16. Not really. The debates were translated live. The voice they had overdubbed for Carney actually sounded quite like him. They all had male voices except for Jagmeet. Or maybe that was a male. Actually it sounded a bit like a man who may have a deep voice but had also huffed some helium. Really rough night for Jagmeet all around. Rebel News, Northern Perspective and a bunch of other youtube channels had it.

  18. I noticed that, but what I didn't see was him answering the question about protecting women's sports, bathrooms, etc. He said some mumbo-jumbo and walked away. I don't see how Carney's answer was at all in-line with conservative viewpoints on the topic. Which still doesn't mean anything, because even if Carney did give an answer, we'd be fools to take him at his word.

  21. LMAO sounds like you’re the one trafficking in guano now! 1) The US was not a superpower prior to WW2 that is fact and nothing in the copypasta you barfed up about Americas early forays out into the great big world contradicts that 2) Anyone who knows anything about WW1 knows that US played a relatively minor role and they only showed up in the closing months of the war, which is why WW1 hardly gets any recognition in US pop culture even on their memorial day and veterans day. 3) Just because they became world’s greatest superpower (after ww2 as I mentioned) doesn’t mean the US “carried the world on its back”. The USA did create a new world order after WW2 and expanded it after the end of the cold war that much is true. But nobody benefited more from the US-led world order than the USA. The hollowed out factory towns and struggling working class in the US are due to America’s own right-wing policy choices and extreme social darwinism, such as lack of basic social safety nets, union-busting, etc….something the rest of us have been warning them about for decades as America practiced a more extreme form of capitalism than any other western country and impoverishment of the working class is the known result of such practice.

  25. Tell that to the surviving members of Laken Riley's family. Look, dumbass, this country is governed by rule of law. An illegal border crossing is a violation of rule of law and that means deportaton is in order. If you want to file for a visa, or asylum or whatever the hell you want, then you do it through the port of entry; if you don't, then your ass is getting deported.

  27. 1. "The young do know bullshit when they see it." And also - "Young voters say diversity is good" Therefore "Diversity is not bullshit" I'm just laying it out as a syllogism, Philosophy 101 style, for you to take down as you wish. 2. DEI doesn't require "less qualified" people to be hired, though. Here are some HR articles: https://www.hirediverse.ca/blog/what-is-dei "Diversity hiring doesn’t mean choosing candidates based on identity alone—it means ensuring the hiring process is free of biases that exclude qualified individuals. Historically, recruitment processes have favored certain groups due to factors like nepotism, systemic barriers, and unconscious bias." https://peoplethriver.com/what-are-the-principles-of-diversity-equity-and-inclusion/#:~:text=The principles of DEI are,ways%2C from recruitment to profitability. "Eliminating bias and discriminatory practices from the selection process can open up the recruitment process to a wider pool of highly qualified candidates and improve the overall quality of hires. It can also have a positive effect on how potential candidates view the company." If you think these are lies then why eliminate DEI at all, since HR will just lie and hire unqualified people anyway ? Or are we just going to NOT hire minorities in case they're unqualified ? I'm asking honestly here. In my career I have never met a bona fide "DEI hire" to my knowledge

  28. 1. Yeah, I referred to the example that is often cited and it's not the same thing. If you can find Carney/Singh saying that the CPC are all racists, or that Poilievre himself is a racist please cite it and I will note that. In the mean time, I'm not going to scurry around chasing dust devils with you. Most of us know how Poilievre operates in the political sphere Although I maintain that it has nothing to do with how he would do as PM, it is definitely a different mode from what we've seen and there's no argument there IMO.

  30. 1) Letitia James is a soon-to-be-jobless political hack and a fraudster who was caught breaking several laws. That's the story here. 2) Trump is a guy who took out a loan and repaid it with interest. 3) Rittenhouse showed us that you can't swing a dead cat in a leftist crowd without hitting a bunch of pedophiles. Letitia should just plead guilty before they do more searching 4) I know that this deep dive into Letitia James's personal finances was politically motivated, and I loveloveluuuuuuv the fact that this deep dive into Letitia James's personal finances was politically motivated 😂 - Turnabout is fair play.

  31. LOLOL holy shit, it's only 9 in the morning and i've already broken you to the point where you're desperately lying Lets look at what i said Me: The provinces do. Including the one you live in. In fact the pharmacare is light years better than what the feds offered and the dental care is quite good for low income people. you: Bullshit. I never mentioned employment insurance. I specifically said the provinces have such plans. You said bullshit LOLOLOL And you're so pathetic you make it worse by trying to lie about what was said LOLOL It's always so amusing to crush your little ego to the point where you look this stupid thanks for the laughs!

  32. you "THEY SAY THE SAME THING!!!" me "well no they don't actually. They don't say the same thing at all." you "THATS JUST DESPERATE NITPICKING!!!" LOLOL Sure kid. what he says has more in common with carney these days than it does trump. And considering that carney is basically still in his policies you can make the same claim of Carney if you wanted Liberals can't win without lying. This is the kind of lie you choose to tell because you haven't actually got anything substantial to talk about when it comes to Poilievre. His policies are great, so great that the liberals are stealing them. He has tons of experience in federal Canadian politics, he's a family man who's always lived here and cares deeply about Canada and doesn't have three different nationalities. He doesn't have ties to the Chinese government, he doesn't do business with elon and trump already, he has sound economic policies and is a moderate in most things. So you pretend he's trump because you can't actually argue with any of the truth. That's pathetic

  33. So... as with the internet, we shouldn't address that other than to open the gates to charlatans and carnival barkers to step in and roam free ? I don't think you are actually saying this btw. I agree with the significance, but to me the response needs to be an improvement in the connection that the so-called leadership (intellectual, political, cultural) has with people. Right now it's tenuous at best. "People don't trust medicine and they think western medicine is racist too" "Therefore we will let quacks and ethnic medical gurus administer to people's illnesses" No.

  34. I don't think so. If you do, then you must agree with the changes in social attitude that find significantly more support with younger folks. Adding: a true community weighs the opinion from diverse sources, including the wisdom of age and the optimism of youth. That's the core of why 'diversity' is important - it's a natural way to mitigate one-sided opinions.

  35. I imagine they'll talk about it, but the Orange Blob is still sucking all of the oxygen out of the room. Poilievre has embraced and promoted the stupidification of the Conservative Party, and while he's been ranting about woke, the WEF and shouting his slogans, undecided voters couldn't help but notice the similarities with Trumpism. That's not a bogeyman that the media invented - it's the image that little PP has cultivated all on his own, and it was working...until it stopped.

  37. Because the USD was seen as the world reserve currency and the refuge in a storm, the US has been able to finance massive deficits and enjoy cheap stuff with an over valued dollar without facing the consequences. As countries and investors de dollarize and shun US treasury bonds because they see the US as unreliable, reality will start to hit home. Just about every country has seen its currency rise against the USD since March including the CAD as they are being seen as more reliable. Devaluation of the USD will do more to reduce US imports than tariffs.
