It's not that easy to find. https://tnc.news/2021/08/11/liberals-hide-names-of-media-companies-given-61-million-in-subsidies/ https://www.pressreader.com/canada/national-post-latest-edition/20230527/281745568761869 There are some strings attached however. They do want the recipients to adopt DEI. If there is a choice between layoffs, or taking the handout, I can't blame them for taking the money. But who are they going to shill for? Trudeau who is now paying them, or PP who wants to stop it?3 points

It’s so painfully obvious that the CBC, Toronto Star, CTV and most mainstream media are cheerleading for Trudeau. The government-funded MSM is not a free press and is clearly fear-mongering, painting the Conservatives as extremist, this time because Poilievre shook hands with some anti-carbon tax protesters. The Liberal shills will no doubt continue their propaganda on the CBC’s At Issue panel and in opinion pieces dressed as news all the way up to the election. Jerema says it well: ”To any normal observer, Poilievre was endorsing the protesters’ stance on the carbon tax, a fact the Star’s Raj barely acknowledged, before she issued dire warnings about some nebulous far right threat that she stretches all logic to pin on the opposition leader. ‘There is no doubt people are tired of the Liberal government,” she concedes. But then, Raj goes on to claim that people being tired of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, “doesn’t mean Canadians want to vote for a man who courts support from groups that spew hate.’” National Post2 points

I would be far more worried about the political violence the left will commit if Trump is elected. People cry about Jan 6th but there were riots all over the country when Trump was elected in 2016.2 points

1. Sorry - autocorrect. I meant CTV. 2. TV Networks aren't mentioned here, nor are the channels I mentioned - podcasts, etc. Not to say they won't be begging for money soon. They will. Bell got money to maintain jobs then laid off thousands. I am not a fan of direct government funding but the dead-dumb argument that governments fund media to get favourable stories doesn't make sense. Not a word game. You haven't been convinced of anything on these pages as far as I have ever seen.2 points
-
This is why the CBC should be defunded and there should be no more subsidies or grants to the media by the government.2 points
-
Because not everyone is 100% motivated by money? Also lots of MSM isn't funded by the government.2 points

Dude, you are absolutely taking Hamas’ side here. You can’t pretend that a massive terrorist attacked occurred. Hamas is the government of Gaza. Their attack was deliberate and coordinated and they refuse to ceasefire or surrender. That is the issue here. Hamas is the reason why there’s a war going on. Terrorism is the reason why the Palestinians haven’t been able to be recognized as an independent nation. We don’t even need to put words in their mouths; they are clear about insisting on the destruction of Israel.2 points

LOL, wait a minute. You have been saying this is so obviously a coup! It is so apparent! How can I not see it?! Then this: "The charges Smith brought are a) easier to prove" Yeah, if one of us is being disingenuous here, it certainly is not me. Obama outright said DACA was not Constitutional, he didn't have the power... and yet he did it anyway. Just about everyone except left wing Democrats all agreed that Biden did not have the power to unilaterally wipe out the Student Debt as he did... and it was found unconstitutional. There was nothing reasonable about them. They were both pure power grabs they just wanted to see if they could get away with... and Obama got away with his. Just like if any of the stupid plans and legal theories team Trump tried to execute on... they would have been tossed out under judicial review. And what the Democrats were trying to do with Al Gore, while not as convoluted, was just as wrong on its face. They were trying to selectively recount votes in the way that would most favor them to win the election. That was wrong, it was illegal, and the Courts seen through the scheme.2 points

You're warped. Trump did nothing to "scare" Pence. You can scream "SOFT COUP" all you like. It's nothing but a warped joke.2 points

It’s the Palestinians who won’t support a two state solution.2 points
-
The UN and most other agencies largely employ Palestinians there. The non-Arab members of NGOs are almost all fellow travelers who, like the people interviewed in the Atlantic article, have no issue with lying to make Israel look worse. I don't know why you ask that. I don't agree. An independent Palestine would be a war waiting to happen. Only it would be far, far worse than the one going on now. Those dumb twats who chant about a 'free palestine' are not talking about a democratic state. They're talking about a theocratic dictatorship similar to Iran. Which is what Hamas promised and what they got elected for. I'm talking about the immigrants who are demonstrating in our streets and threatening Jews and demanding my country cater to their own religious zealotry.2 points

this is hardly proof of anything. If I was driving somewhere and encountered protesters.. would simply take another way.1 point

I keep forgetting Robo requires proof of anything that goes against his worldview but still will refuse to believe when you give it to him but I will try again. When it comes to using violence on a regular basis, it's the political left that always takes the gold. Antifa and BLM are firmly entrenched on the left. American Hamas supporters too.1 point

She was terrible on all kinds of fronts. Honestly she would have been a terrible leader. And she was arrogant enough to think she could win without support in the west. She's a horrible person these days, she'll happily take a cheque to bad mouth current conservatives and past conservatives as well. Canada dodged a bullet with her.1 point

I don't think so. I think the gov't was right to put it out there and offer it to people. In certain at risk groups i think it was a life saver more than a life risker. There was no time to finish proper testing. BUT!! - in my mind that means they SHOULD have sent a clear message - "there could be lots of side effects we don't know. This is PROBABLY safe but we can't be sure - you should think careful about taking this unless you're in an at-risk group for covid deaths" and then not forced people to take it. It would have been as wrong to deny people who were at risk the choice as it was t deny people the choice about taking it when they weren't. They should have been as honest about the risks (including that they were unknown and could be worse than expected) as possible, then respected people's decisions.1 point
-
so you did not answer.. do you have the choice to not watch it? It does not bother me to have characters in a tv show or movie be black when maybe in the book or in previous iterations, they were white. Its about the story and how well they execute it for me.. the packaging does not mean much.1 point

Aggressive is one word, Invasive is another. They're not prepared to leave you alone. In the past with most things people have been like"you do your thing which I think is crazy and I'll do my thing which you think is crazy and we'll both have a good life". But woke demands that it inserts itself in your life and that you conform to its wishes no matter what. It is no longer okay for you to do your own thing, you must do the work thing or woke will hunt you down and punish you.1 point

The rockbed of his policies are pro-nationalist, anti-immigrant, pro-business... he regularly rails against Marxism, which I don't think any Republican candidate before him did since... maybe Nixon but before he was VP. He had Nick Fuentes over to dinner, also... that seems a little off-brand for centrist conservatives. This idea isn't at all controversial but it is thread drift. Hopefully I answered your question as to why I think he's very right wing. Your opinions may vary.1 point

OK Then after the next election we can complain the media is all conservative LOL1 point

No, it’s relatively honest. What says everything is that their writer Rupa Subramanya now does a lot with Beri Weiss’s Common Sense. Weiss is actually an American on the left. She got the work because she’s honest. It’s not really about left versus right anymore. It’s about the phoney woke elite managerial class versus the common working people.1 point

Well... but... you accept the premise without evidence, based on your gut feel. 99% of my online life on another forum is convincing liberals and such not to do such a thing. They know Trump is a bad man, so why offer him any justice. They know vaccines should be mandatory so why not fire people who don't take them. You are either for objectivity and political process or against it. You seem to be against it. 1. Ok - so you SUPPORT government funding then for the MSM. Got it. 2. Regardless, you thing the Globe is left-wing then you are staring out the Overton window at a landscape of your choosing.1 point

It is my interpretation of your (and others) rejection of wokeness that you think that you can eradicate it from society altogether. My point is that if you have the first amendment and the internet, that is impossible. To get rid of it.. you would have to "unring the bell" meaning revert back to a time when the internet did not exist. as for pushing back, feel free. Above all, I am a free speech advocate. The woke and the anti-woke should be free to express their views. as for my views.. I think folks take it a bit far. I have no issues with blacks being in commercials more often now than in the past and such. However, reparations... just cant take that idea seriously.1 point

True enough, but making it easier for them doesn't help anyone but them. 🤷♂️1 point

That's for traditional press, not electronic press. Canadian newspapers are by and large conservative, led by the National Post and Globe and Mail. So are you asserting that the National Post Kisses Trudeau's ass? CTV was mentioned in the OP. That was founded by two conservative families working together. The Globe and Mail founded by the Thompsons... NP Conrad black... "Additionally, the legacy media company FP Newspapers Inc. received $6.2 million in taxpayer funds from the Liberal government"1 point

You keep responding... I know why. Second, you assumed that I was in agreeance with them. Assumptions are for the lazy. Well.. your secret is out. Your posts rely on assumptions and if someone points them out, you start with the name-calling and such. Because surely if someone is not you.. they fit your narrowly defined boxes. Now.. where is your usual line about CNN.1 point

I would say it's probably a given that they support Trudeau but "obvious" "cheerleading" .. I don't see it. It's also pretty difficult to provide objective evidence of subjectivity right ? The MSM is more accountable than actual "shill" media, ie. paid-for advocacy outlets like Rebel Media and Press Progress. The Star has been strongly Pro Liberal through the years. But if you can find The Rebel or Press Progress making concessions like "there is no doubt people are tired of the PM" then post that too. The best place to get news is RePolitics.1 point

The Palestinians want nothing short of a genocide against the Jews, and they're willing to get to that point incrementally. "First, we demand this..." Then that won't be enough, and they'll ask for more, and more, until Israel is no more and all the Jews are dead. After the massacre, the muslim world will completely accept Palestine as a legitimate nation, just like they do with Pakistan.1 point
-
1) None of the Arabs who back that solution would advocate for the same thing in Pakistan, where hundreds of thousands of Sikhs and Hindus were burned to death, hacked to death and shot, and about 8 million of them were driven from their homes, when Pakistan was given their sovereign borders for the exact same reasons and by the exact same means as Israel was. 2) It's an inch... mile thing. They know that Israel's original borders made it indefensible, and they know that it will be easier to wipe them out/kill them all if they ever went back to that joke of a map: Nothing makes muslims more upset than seeing the Jews with a bit of sovereignty. They're way happier seeing them slaughtered.1 point

So he's condemning himself then, because we all know that he's mentally incapable of understanding "what’s going on with the Palestinians.” I can guarantee he has no clue, even if he was told yesterday.1 point

Yes and once most people realize that some groups are clearly being favoured, we will see all the groups that are being “de-centred” push back on all fronts: voting, court challenges, protests, financial sanctions, etc. It hadn’t started yet because most people bought into the US “George Floyd proves police are racist” narrative, or the “ground penetrating radar finding anomalies means there was genocide” narrative, or the “pride flags and gender affirmation are only about inclusion and don’t signal promotion of alternative sexual orientations and non-biological genders” narrative. People are waking up to the ideological capture of university admissions, hiring at almost all midsize and large companies, and messaging at educational institutions. People are seeing the pushes that they didn’t agree to support. They’re seeing how our governments have funded and supported this mess. If I catch a whiff of any candidate spewing such nonsense, I immediately oppose that person. I don’t even care if they have other strengths, because the woke rot is what’s destroying our democracy and economy.1 point

Seriously, your schtick is tiresome. I have already responded to you on this and provided sources as well. Listen to yourself... try to think about it. If they formed a human chain... with the purpose of blocking people, it stands to reason that people were blocked. In fact, the police started arresting the protestors because of that. You just assert garbage and then ignore the inconvenient facts that prove your comments are nonsense. Since you ignored it before, maybe this time you will read it:1 point

You're an open book io. Your posts are formulaic. I don't have to assume anything. You pretend to be some kind of authority on a topic, then when you're asked to display some kind of next-level knowledge you say say that you just don't really care about the topic, you cast aspersions, rinse, repeat. Nothing that you say is ever truly on topic. There's nothing right, that's for sure. Jabs that kill people. I do not think that the scenarios outlined by you are realistic. I think that you are too biased and too partisan to say anything of value. A republican could say that 3^3 = 27 and you would object.1 point

We can’t forget that you are taking the side of a designated terrorist organization that states a goal of destroying its enemy. Israel’s goal is to destroy Hamas, not Palestine. As for Netanyahu, he is the unfortunate result of 75 years of nonstop war and terrorism directed at Israeli civilians. You know I don’t support him, but… well, you can see what happens every time terrorists commit terrorist acts. They badly harm their own people. It’s horrible.1 point

not voting for ukraine funding does not mean that they support Putin. Maybe.. just maybe it is a sign that we want to stop spending money on someone else's battle. There is no explicit proof that Republicans are in cahoots with Putin. However, when it comes to Russia, they are simply confounding. Not really sure what they gain by having this protracted war other than pride and some new territory added to their map.1 point

Of course my opinion will always be bat shit to you, lefty. My opinions are common sense opinions, unlike your opinions, that are always full of bat shit lies and bullshit. Putin must be doing something right because the lying and fake left wing liberal MSM, and FOX NEWS, are always attacking Putin. When the MSM attacks or mocks anyone, then i know that it is all just more lies and bullshit coming from an unreliable liberal MSM source who are protecting the lies and bullshit that keeps coming out of the Bidumb stolen White House. Can you prove to me that Putin is the bad guy here?1 point

Couple o' quick questions for ya: 1) Which political party was in the WH when Putin snatched up Crimea? 2) Which political party was in the WH when Putin took over the southeastern quarter of Ukraine? 3) Which political party was in the WH when islamic state was formed, and then went on to conquer Iraq and Syria, and commit genocide there? 4) Which political party was in the WH when Iran launched 200 attacks on American troops and bases in the ME, without facing any consequences? 5) Which political party was in the WH when Al Qaeda killed 13 US soldiers at the Debacle of Kabul? 6) Which political party was in the WH when Iranian soldiers captured a US navy boat and forced all the sailors onto their knees 7) Which political party was in the WH when Gaza and Israel went to war in 2014, 2021 and 2023-'24? FYI the answer is the same to all 7: it was the Dems who were in power when the US was busy biting the pillow and the world was going to sh1t in all those instances. 1) Which political party was in the WH when islamic state was destroyed far more quickly than was thought possible by the previous WH administration? 2) Which political party was in the WH when US forces killed 2 of Iran's top generals in retaliation for killing a single American military contractor at a US embassy? 3) Which political party was in power when 200 Russians were greased while advancing on a US military base, with no reprisals? 4) Which political party was in the WH when 4 of the leaders of the world's foremost terrorist orgs were obliterated? FYI the answer is the same to all 4: it was the the GOP (Trump) in power when the US was busy forcing all those terrorist orgs and rogue states to bite the pillow. I guess that a question American voters need to ask themselves this November is, who do they want to see chewing on pillows for the next 4 years: America, or its enemies? What were you saying there Beavey?1 point

Islamic Republic is a paper tiger not Iran. The title of this thread is nonsense and misleading and shows lack of knowledge of the poster. Iran is not a paper tiger. The imposed murderous IRCG is a paper tiger. These bastards can only murder defenseless unarmed innocent young civilians, mainly women on streets of Iranian towns and cities that when they face an armed enemy the lose face. 99% of their flying birds were destroyed in the air before reaching targets, Even if someone sends flying toys into targets, more will succeed. But Iran which is a NOT an Arab country, is an ancient civilization of over 2500 years of history and its population increasingly against the Islamic Republic and the f*cking ideology that they forcefully impose which includes attacking women and children. It is time for the West to realize that Islamic Republic and its paramilitary IRCG are paper tiger and they must remove this cancerous cell by all available means without hurting the civilian population which is pro-West and has no quarrel with Israel.1 point
