Is this what you would tell Jesus? “No, Jesus, you are wrong! We should not feed hungry children because that will make them victims!”2 points

I don't understand how they would get in the country in the first place without a valid visa, which would be offered to them by Canadian immigration. CBSA would catch this in the airport. I'm sure there are unknowing victims of fraud, but they also need to take some responsibility for that and do their due diligence. But either way, I still have no idea how they'd be allowed to enter the country without a valid visa based on their studies. Sounds like a failure of our border or immigration system. Also, how did they get a valid study or work permit in Canada? This seems like a system-wide failure on Canada's part. This government is a joke.2 points

Indeed, the training--including the manual referenced--directs officers to use a recovery position after the subject stops resisting. If only there were a way to know why that is important... "Chauvin admitted that Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) policy and training requires officers to stop using force when a subject is not resisting and to move an arrestee from the prone position into a side recovery or seated position because the prone position may make it more difficult to breathe."2 points

Intelligent people should realize: Do not trust casualty figures provided by Hamas. If a Hamas guy with a rocket launcher on his back is pointing his AK-47 at an Israeli soldier and the Israeli kills him… it’s a “civilian casualty.”1 point

Smith makes a good point that often goes missed by the public - the federal gov't is not 'above' the provinces. The provincial authority is NOT subject to or granted by federal authority, unlike for example a city which derrives its authority from the powers granted by the province. So you can't just give orders to the province willy nilly. There is some limitation there. We might yet see this balloon to a full on constitutional crisis - which would be a hilarious way to end the little potatoe's reign over canada1 point

So refreshing to see provincial Premiers Moe and Smith standing up for their provinces.1 point

Yeah, I've heard the theory that he was placing pressure on the carotid artery but it's not legit. The knee is too wide to apply specific pressure like that. Also, with Floyd facing away from him, the pressure of the knee was closer to the back of the neck than under the side of the chin. The pressure was also up in the shoulder area, away from the chest, so the effect on his breathing wasn't all that bad. It's what officers were trained to do in the Minneapolis PD. If you want to talk about the medical pathophysiology, the drugs that he took were the greatest contributing factor to his death. The fact that he was resisting arrest was the next greatest contributing factor to his death. If you watched that whole arrest in real time, without the benefit of hindsight, you'd think that Floyd was a complete ****** and that officers were quite patient with him. He almost got himself shot when he was in his car, in the first 20 seconds of the incident. Floyd's arrest was a case study in "what not to do when you're being arrested".1 point

Sure they did. Fantasy land. The only kind of peace Ukraine wants is for Russia to get out of their country.1 point

https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/canada-says-it-won-t-deport-international-students-who-are-victims-of-immigration-fraud-1.6441274 Today, Sean Fraser announced that victims of immigration fraud who are facing removal from the country would be offered a temporary resident permit, if required, to ensure they can remain in Canada and won’t be subject to the five-year ban in place that usually follows cases of misrepresentation. Advocates say roughly 700 Indian students and graduates, most of whom hail from Punjab state, are presently facing deportation in connection with international study permit application scams. In many cases, the fraud was discovered and deportation orders were issued when those affected applied for permanent residency. So the way the scam works is that in India they go to an "immigration expert" who takes their money and says "yay - you got accepted to the university of medicine hat! Your permits are all approved!!!" They then go to canada - and find out that they aren't approved at all, often when they apply for permanent residency which suggests they never intended to go to school. Now we have hundreds of these people here. Polievre responds in a video at that link as well and his response is as usual simple and effective - "we will make sure before allowing students to come that they have a verified admittance letter, a place to live, and a source of income either from savings or a job". How hard was that to figure out?1 point

All of these moves away from using the US dollar are making it unneeded. As these individual nations quietly sell off these dollars a glut of them will harm the value of USD. Little by little, week by week. Until it tanks all of a sudden, at which point the MSM will notice it for the first time. The ICE US Dollar Index shows that it's started dropping since early November. You will find this discussion fascinating...1 point

This self-immolation thing really has me thinking about how bad the Israelis have been to the Palestinians over the years. I think that the Canadian and US gov'ts will really turn their backs on Israel if enough people do it.1 point

What a load of steaming horseshit spouted about. You think Google gives a flying you know what about $100 million to settle/ I's not 2000 anymore, that's pocket change to them. And they're not the main offender. You just search with Google, and a little is unpaid use of Cdn content on YouTubes. Meta's the one with the bulk of news links and in user posts buried among their pages of fraudulent and malware ads. You think it's Marxist to protect Cdn culture and business revenues? Prefer a nice healthy tariff on all foreign based social media instead? It's absurd to stand up for a foreign billionaire or corporation ahead of your own couintry's interests and more so when it affects you not at all.1 point

"Baker's preliminary report had sparked anger after it found "no physical findings" to "support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation". The report had also suggested Floyd's had underlying conditions which contributed to his death. According to the report, Floyd's death had been caused by the "combined effects of Mr Floyd's being restrained by police, underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system". In an updated report filed two months later, Baker confirmed he had found traces of fentanyl—an opioid used as recreational drug—in Floyd's system, but stated that could not be identified as the cause of death. According to the documents, Floyd had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his blood, a dose that could have been justified an overdose verdict had his death occurred in different circumstances." https://www.newsweek.com/george-floyd-autopsy-report-cause-death-1579393 Fact is...Chauvin is the victim of "social justice" instead of legal justice.1 point

So you think the lifelong Republicans are RINOs, and the newcomer carpetbagger who decided to run as a Republican is the "real" Republican? And all these people, who are intimately familiar with the administration and who spoke up about bad behavior, are traitors? But the one guy is right when he criticizes the large group of critics he once relied upon? That makes sense to you? I guess at least you're consistently bumfuzzled.1 point

IF the "web developers" didn't get their copy from the firm's lawyers, they probably lifted it from a US website. It is fairly clear it was NOT proofread by anyone, let alone the firm's lawyers. LMAO It seems there are varying legal opinions about laws in Saskatchewan, but most say no you cannot get a dui on a bike.1 point

Only drivers operating a motor vehicle can be charged with impaired driving. However, if an officer sees that you are under the influence of alcohol, you can be fined under different charges. Depending on where and how an officer identifies that alcohol is impacting your ability to cycle safely, an officer can charge you with (and not limited to) the following infractions: intoxication in a public place consuming alcohol not in a licensed establishment or residence (if a cyclist has open alcohol in public) operating a bicycle in a careless manner Learn about other fines for cyclist errors. source: https://www.alberta.ca/cycling-and-alcohol --------------------------------------------------------------------- You should really read the sources that you provide, before posting on them. A simple one minute spent on viewing the link you provided mentions this: "Yes, you can get a DUI for riding your bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In most states, bicycles are considered as vehicles under the law. This means that the same DUI laws that apply to drivers of cars and trucks also apply to cyclists." ----- There are no states in Canada lol. You linked to a crappy legal site copying American laws. You cannot get a DUI on a non-motorised bicycle in Canada.1 point

Then why did you call the Biden administration a "communist" regime, when they are not? nobody forced Ukraine into the war. The Ukrainians are defending their homeland, just like any nation would if they are resisting an invading force.1 point
-
The only thing that's pretend is the idea that Kiev wasn't their primary objective in the first place. This was a large-scale combined-arms offensive meant to knock out Ukrainian leadership and command and control, American-style. Russia's army is run by cronies and made up of peasant soldiers, however, so it was a humiliating failure in which they took enormous losses. You don't paradrop your most elite airborne divisions 100 km behind enemy lines for a feint.1 point

You don't "pretend" with the largest part of your army. Putin's plan was to take the capital and put his own puppet in charge. You are an id-iot to think otherwise. To bad, so sad comrade. It didn't work out and now Vlad the Destroyer is mired in the worst conflict since WW2 and having to fight it with WW1 tactics. Maybe a great Mafia Don but not much of a military strategist.1 point

Ukraine has every reason to want NATO membership and Russia has given it to them. Putin's word has been shown to be worth nothing and Ukraine would be foolish to ever take it again. Yet their first target was Kyiv itself.1 point
-
Countries apply to join NATO, no one forces them. Considering what has happened, it's obvious Ukraine should have joined NATO, they would have never been invaded if they had been a member. If Putin invaded to keep countries out of NATO he really f****d up because he got two new members on his northern border. Two new members with very capable militaries. As well as weakening his own military, this war has shown how inept it is.1 point

Just as most Christian holidays were moved to replace former pagan holidays, the Spectacle of Consumerism has replaced the former Christian holiday of Christmas.
