  1. I'm confused about what this argument is. The TPP was designed as a trading group that EXCLUDES China. It is basically a carrot to Asian nations who want to have less reliance on China for trade. It's not pro-China. It's the reverse. Harper wanted nothing to do with China in 2006. It was only after the financial crisis brought us into recession and the gang of three tried to take over that he gave in to their demands for better trade and relationships with China.

  2. The transgender movement has moved with lightning speed amid ferocious hostility towards anyone who stands in its path. It increasingly demands more accommodation, largely at the expense of women, demands men who are 100% physically and biologically male, and have no medical or psychological evidence to the contrary, be considered 100% female. No proof is needed or necessary, and anyone who suggests that such 'women' not be allowed into womens changing rooms, bathrooms, or showers, is merely a hatemonger and bigot who needs to be relentlessly attacked. In days of old, when you could say "Men are not women" and not be accused of hate speech and bigotry. https://heavy.com/news/2018/11/meghan-murphy/ When women got to compete against each other in sports, and didn't have to compete against men who simply claimed they were women. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/transgender-woman-track-cycling-1.4863381 When no one ever gave a thought to the idea that male rapists should be sent to womens prisons. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6169813/Rapist-Karen-Whites-ex-girlfriend-says-gender-change-sham.html

  4. Balanced budgets are fine. Economic reform is fine too and young people want more houses in our big cities, yes please. As I’ve said before, if Poilievre can sort out health care in this country, more power to him. However, Bitcoin isn’t fine and convoys aren’t fine. The whole Bernier agenda ain’t fine. Canada is not the US and even down there Republicans are a shrinking minority. Not really. In the absence of premature retirement, all political careers fail. I arrived in Canada during Mulroney’s time, a Progressive Conservative whose Finance Minister was concerned about the debt. PT and JC still define Canadian politics and we are overdue a shift to the right on fiscal matters. However, any conservative who gets too far to the right from the Mulroney/Chrétien/Harper consensus will have a short time at the helm.

  6. 1 - you watched a YouTube and consider it "info". Do you believe those FB ads for $29 electric scooters, $20 brand new laptops and tying 2 electric motors back to back to make free electricity too? Though it's probably somewhat accurate as it's no shame to be bi these days and that would make up most. And it takes a real prude to think identifying as such is sexualizing anyone's 10 year old.

  9. see here, according to the Canadian press I don't even have a functioning government capable of standing up to the Chinese so I am out of ideas, as to what I could do about that NP View: Chinese interference shows Trudeau can't run a functioning government When the provinces came together in Confederation, a main reason for establishing a national government was to secure the border in order to avoid being absorbed into the United States, as the British took less and less interest in their North American colonies. In 2023, watching the Liberal government mock the very idea of national security with its overtly partisan and dismissive response to Chinese election interference, it isn’t clear the federal government is capable of maintaining a properly functioning country. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/trudeau-liberals-mock-the-very-idea-of-national-security

  11. There was much to criticize about Trump and I thought Biden would be better. I was wrong on Biden. Trump kept the West out of wars and made it clear that American values would be protected even if it meant risking the left’s favourite dismissal tactic: “You’re a racist.” Any national leader who attempts to protect domestic cultural values and security from harmful outside influences risks being accused of racism and xenophobia, but basic psychology and biology tells us it’s in our survival interests to be careful about protecting our families, communities, cultures and economic interests. Now Biden is adopting Trump’s border policies. Biden is a professional politician who panders to both his established base and the radical elements in his party. Who knows where he really stands on any issues? At least Trump says what he means and isn’t afraid of the woke mob or taking criticism from his party.

  12. the main thing to glean, is that the PLA is an ideological army not a fighting force the PLA is the military arm of the CCP the role of the PLA is to defend the party not the country they don't actually know how to fight wars, they just mimic, they go through the motions, it's a simulacrum a classic Communist Potemkin Village they don't have a chain of command with the institutional knowledge to conduct operations at scale and their totalitarian system would never let a military genius advance just like Canada, it's not about how good a General you are, only how loyal you are to the regime

  14. This is starting to feel like a VERY remedial vocabulary lesson. From your quote: "permits fiduciary retirement fund managers to consider" Are you using some kind of special conservative dictionary in which "permit" means "force"? Fund managers are permitted to invest in all kinds of companies with all kinds of considerations. They are permitted to invest in petroleum companies. Does that mean that Biden is forcing people to invest in petroleum? They are permitted to invest in companies with active boards of directors. Does that mean Biden is forcing people to do so? Of course not. It's an utterly absurd premise. But you're turning yourself inside out for the sake of partisan hackery. Get real. ETA: It used to be that conservatives said that we didn't need regulations, that if some issue is important it will be priced into the market and the market will sort it out. But you hacks that have hijacked the banner of conservatism are entirely without principle, fueled purely by antagonism and spite. You'll actively exclude choice from the marketplace if it feels politically convenient.

  15. early models of RN torpedo of the time, the Mk.24 Tigerfish, had serious reliability problems so the SSN's were carrying Mk.8's as a backup Conqueror had the Belgrano dead to rights, there would be no warning for it to evade a torpedo attack so there was no need for a homing torpedo so the Captain decided to use the very simple, reliable, proven torpedo for a point blank shot

  17. The link is 5 posts up from this one and just above the post where you started whinging. " WASHINGTON — The Senate on Wednesday voted to overturn a Labor Department rule that permits fiduciary retirement fund managers to consider climate change, good corporate governance and other factors when making investments on behalf of pension plan participants. President Joe Biden said Monday that he will veto the Senate bill if it comes to his desk — the first veto of his presidency." Nationalist is correct. If a union member's union invests in a pension fund he donates to throughout his working life and the funds go to an ESG compliant company like say Black Rock or Vanguard he has no option but to accept it. There is no choice for that guy. Biden passed a law allowing his choice to be taken away from him. Not that you asked but Trudeau applied the force of law demanding acceptance of ESG even harder. I repeated that last bit of information on choice so Sapper could hopefully hear it this time. I think he might be going for the record of not reading what's in front of his face though. I'll just copy and paste next time, Sappy and we'll run a counter for you.

  20. Yes, to sane people this is obvious. And it would be fine as well normally. There's no law that says a media outlet can't have a bias, or can't tailor the stories it chooses to produce to appeal to it's target audience. As one american character once said "go ahead, i'll just start my own paper to lie the other way" Except - the CBC is publicly funded. And that's why people have a problem with them right now. If they get defunded they can go on their own and try to make a business model out of their bias;, but i think they'll have a hard time convincing people to give them ad dollars and subscriptions if they're being that selective.

I too gave the Russians way too much credit I predicted this war on another forum, before 2014 I predicted an escalation, wherein the Russians would attempt to take eastern Ukraine up to the Dniepr I predicted that we would be at the brink of war with Russia but I predicted that the Russians would be doing way better than this I did predict that the Ukrainians would fight, but not like this, I didn't think the Ukrainians had this in them neither

  22. American influence on our elections won’t end those elections any time soon. Their effect is essentially benign. By contrast, the CCP will not be happy until the world is as miserable as China. It’s the only way Xi and the gang can guarantee their rule at home indefinitely.

  24. In the late 1960's I used to read a Red Chinese propaganda magazine for its entertainment value. It always had a photo on the back page caption something like " all hail chairman Mao Tse Tung, Great Supreme Leader, Great Helmsman, Great Commander in Chief, and his close comrade in arms, Lin Pio." Lin was killed by Mao a year later when his plane was shot down while fleeing to Russia, if memory serves.

  25. No, lets be clear on Lil Justin I really don't understand you guys in the center, you and many other on this site have time after time stated your not a Liberal. your a conservative.... Hard to tell from the liberal slant in your posts, but i have accepted your word as the truth. And yet your not very supportive of the current Conservative party leader either. So much so you wasted 5 minutes of your life telling us what you find disturbing about PP, which is fair, you have to maintain your image. And as i admire your work i thought i would follow in those same footsteps so we could compare who the better candidate is for the rest of the readers. I spent more time than I really should have but I'm sure I have missed a sh*t ton of other gaffs made by our main man Justin fell free to fill in what i missed.... Pre political carear.... Black face not once but 3 times, all of them as an adult, once was when he was a teacher... In August of 2000, the Creston Valley Advance wrote an editorial Trudeau had “groped” and engaged in “inappropriate handling” of one of the female reporters covering the Kokanee Summit music festival. The paper quotes Trudeau as saying to the reporter a day after the incident: “I’m sorry. If I had known you were reporting for a national paper I would never have been so forward.” Only god really knows what went on in his private life, of his entitlement, there are many articles of his attitude while he attended school and his time on the debate team. political career Known for many things inter nationally and here in Canada but one of the top ones is his socks, not many leaders are known for just their socks but Lil Justin is. Lets not forget his entire trip to India, and how they played Mr. dress up, for the entire trip, while India's diplomates were in Suits... After his death in late 2016, Trudeau lauded Castro as a “remarkable leader” and a “larger-than-life leader who served his people for almost half a century.” Canadian Joshua Boyle, his American wife Caitlan Coleman and their three children were released after years of being held by the Taliban. Not missing an opportunity for a photo op, pictures of Trudeau meeting with the family in the PMO were tweeted out. Ten days after the photo was issued, Boyle was arrested in Ottawa and charged with unlawful confinement and sexual assault against his wife. SNC Lavin Yet Trudeau expelled former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould from the Liberal caucus in 2019 after she refused to grant a deferred prosecution agreement to SNC-Lavalin, a Montreal-based engineering company that faced criminal charges of corruption and fraud. Jane Philpott, a trusted cabinet minister of Trudeau’s, resigned from her position as president of the Treasury Board citing the Trudeau government’s handling of the SNC-Lavalin scandal. The term “fake feminist” trended for days after Trudeau announced former Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavennes would leave his caucus to sit as an independent. Speaking to the Globe and Mail, Chavennes said Trudeau became hostile towards her when she told him she won’t be running again. “He was yelling. He was yelling that I didn’t appreciate him, that he’d given me so much,” Chavennes told the Globe. Trudeau has violated the Conflict of Interest Act twice since he became prime minister in 2015. Canadian-born Omar Khadr was taken to Afghanistan when he was young by his al-Qaida-affiliated father.Khadr was detained by the U.S. and pleaded guilty to killing 28-year-old U.S. army medic Christopher Speer. He spent 10 years in Guantanamo Bay. And was paid out 10.5 million dollars... In 2017, Trudeau skipped out on major talks regarding the Trans-Pacific. Rather than meeting with the heads of 11 countries in Viet Nam to negotiate and revise the TPP deal, Trudeau played hookey, avoiding the conference room altogether. Moments later, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe cancelled the meeting. According to Global News, sources at the event reported that Trudeau had met Abe prior to the leaders’, and decided to meet with Facebook representatives rather than go to the leaders’ meetings. Location: Trudeau town hall, Sherbrooke, QC, 2017 Question: Of particular concern in this area are services to minority populations. Most of the public services in this area are available in French only…I would really appreciate your comment on this subject. And Trudeau says… Merci. Thank you. (And switches to French). If you’ll allow me, I’ll respond in French, so everyone can understand. Thank you for using our country’s two official languages, but we’re in Quebec, so I’ll answer in French. Context: Trudeau, in his pre-prime minister years as Liberal leader, launches a charm offensive, hosting a ladies only event dubbed: “Justin Unplugged.” Location: Toronto Question: Event host lobs Trudeau a softie about what country (besides Canada) he admires most. And Trudeau says…. There is a level of admiration I actually have for China, because their basic dictatorship is actually allowing them to turn their economy around on a dime. (Side note: A straight-faced Tom Mulcair, former NDP leader, later responds to Trudeau comment. “I’m not a big fan of dictatorships, I rather prefer democracy.”) Question: I was prepared to be killed in action, what I wasn’t prepared for, Mr. Prime Minister, is Canada turning its back on me. And Trudeau says… Thank you sir, thank you. Thank you for being here today to share your justifiable passion and frustration and anger with me…On a couple elements you brought up. First of all, why are we still fighting against certain veterans groups in court? Because they are asking for more than we are able to give right now. When asked about his concern over deficits in 2014, Trudeau said that the government needed to commit to growing the economy. “And the budget will balance itself,” Trudeau said, a much-mocked statement after his government’s deficits soared even before the pandemic.
