If you live in an enlightened People's Republic Paradise blue state, you will be miserable in Florida. Let me count the ways. 1. The weather here is awful. It's so hot for most of the year that Florida is singularly responsible for the melting of the polar caps. Hurricanes come once a month and they are devastating. Also Florida is the lightning strike capital of the world. 2. We have mosquitoes here the size of pelicans. The other day I saw a bunch of mosquitos carrying a dog away. Also, there are alligators on every street corner, some wanting to bite, some just wanting to sell you fentanyl. 3. Your children will HATE our schools. We actually have HOMEWORK and required assignments. And we actually have GRADES, which means it's possible for a child to FAIL a course., Also, our school courses are incredibly narrow minded, only dealing with actual HISTORY, MATH, GEOGRAPHY, SCIENCE, WRITING, READING, THE ARTS, etc. The bigoted education department REFUSES to allow your kid to be indoctrinated in homosexual/lesbian/trans lifestyles at the kindergarten level, nor will your college kid get to enjoy Black Queer Studies. Your kid actually has to get a real college education before he/she can get a diploma. For that matter, Florida will NOT allow a minor to get gender reassignment surgery without parental approval. (Florida's bigoted government also doesn't allow underage minors to vote, buy cigarettes, buy guns, get a tattoo, etc.) This leads to another state embarrassment. 4. Florida is incredibly CHEAP. We have this embarrassing group of people called the MIDDLE CLASS, who actually call most of the shots. Because of that, Florida's state budget is balanced, with less outlays in WELFARE payments than any other states. That means you actually have to WORK A REAL JOB HERE. Taxes are so low here, it's embarrassing. Florida has NO STATE INCOME TAX, and you wonder how we keep the lights on here. Our welfare state might as well not even exist. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find anyone who is POOR here. 5. Florida is not safe. As you know, ALL gun deaths are perpetrated by law abiding citizens. Florida has CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY laws, which lets these dangerous people just carry their lethal weapons with them, in public and in plain sight. If you have a son who needs money for clothes and can only get it by committing crimes (like muggings or home invasions) your kid could be KILLED in the process of committing such a crime. The law enforcement community will just look the other way. Speaking of crimes... 6. Florida is VERY MEAN to illegal aliens, (uh, I mean, UNDOCUMENTED CITIZENS) who only want to come here for a fresh start. Florida actually ENFORCES those white supremacist Immigration laws and makes people from other countries actually have to WAIT IN LINE to come here. And illegals that are shipped into here from the government are actually sent to blue states like Martha's Vineyard. That's very MEAN SPIRITED and it means there's nothing but white people down here in Florida. 7. Florida roads are VERY CROWDED, mostly because all these "tourists" from other places are clogging up our highways. But also it's because we do not have massive gasoline taxes nor do we have a electric car mandate, which means all these deplorable "Middle class" people who actually WORK JOBS are able to own a car and are clogging up our highways.It's NOT FAIR to those who want to do the right thing and take public transportation. If you drive down from a blue state, (even in a $150K electric car) you'll only be adding to the traffic on our roads. The other thing is, our low taxes and cheap government prevent us from building more roads to accommodate those outdated, white supremacist means of transportation. 8. You can't get good pot here. Because Florida now has medical marijuana, (which is VERY easy to get a card for) all the pot here is standardized and will not fck you up. The street varieties were unregulated, so you might get a REALLY good buzz off them, but not in Florida. Our mean spirited white supremacist government has used the free market to practically put ALL street pushers of marijuana out of business. Now the only good drugs you can buy on the street are coke, crack, meth, and fentanyl. You no longer have street sold marijuana to act as a gateway drug to get your body ready for the good stuff. 9. Florida is going to become more crowded than China because our abortion laws are so strict. The state does not allow abortions after the child is born, so an expectant mother is DENIED the choice of whether or not she wants the little bastard. In fact, our white supremacist government is requiring doctors NOT to kill any baby that has a heartbeat. This is SOOOO patently unfair to the high school slut who wants to look good in prom dress but keeps putting that abortion off until it's too late. If you live in an enlightened state like New York, California, New Jersey, Minnesota, you need to stay put. Life for you there is better, more predictable and also POLITICALLY CORRECT. Life there is WOKE, and the LAST thing you need in your life is an experience like the Wild West in the Sunshine State. Let those who want to have to WORK A REAL JOB EVERY DAY move here. Let them be miserable. Stay where you are, hold hands and sing Kumbayah.

I'm all for free markets and free trade with countries that are similar politically and economically with our own. Then along comes the supply chain issues as a result of covid and the war in Ukraine. Maybe, just maybe, it's not such a bad idea to not put all our eggs in one basket. To become less dependent on others for our food, medical, vaccines, and energy supplies. In the past I was against the supply management system. Now I'm not so sure. If something works decently why mess with it?

The way I interpret Trudeaus' appointment is to oppose or discourage hatred of Muslims and oppose any form of violence or hateful behavior. I think that is fair enough because there have been a number of hateful terrorist attacks and a number of hateful actions against Muslims and their places of worship. So it is reasonable to discourage that behavior. I don't see it as meaning one must accept Islamic beliefs or the Quran. But they should have the freedom to practice their religion peacefully just as anyone else in a free country.
