https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/supreme-court-joe-kennedy-high-school-football-coach-school-prayer-case/#app In yet another win for common sense and decency, the Supreme Court rules against a Washington State school board who fired man for praying at a football game. The atheist left are once again losing their ever loving minds as they will now have to watch somebody (gasp) pray. ?3 points

Oh come on! He convinced Americans that we stole their jobs under NAFTA. When I got married I was building Kenworths, my wife was keeping records for Freightliner. When I moved here, there were 4 mills all owned locally or by Canadian companies. Now there's foreign owned mills they ship the logs to hundreds of miles away. And don't get me started on how we cowed to their laws that say 'appurtenance' is illegal and refuse to follow a single ruling on softwood. All Trump did was prove America was full of untrustworthy bastards, and he is King.2 points

Yes, I understand what you wrote there. But if 79% of women agree with restrictions, no doubt they would restrict themselves from certain procedures at certain times, yes?2 points
-
Of course it is. Women don't get pregnant on their own. If we're going to regulate bodies, then regulate everyone's. Vasectomies are reversible. Give every male over....say....15 years of age?....a vasectomy. Abortion problem solved.2 points

American Conservatives would fight for the right to conserve the right of an American baby to be born. Conservatives are willing to tolerate. They don't see why they should be forced to endorse what seems wrong or insane to them. For example if you want to call yourself zim or zer go for it just don't be thinking you have the right to pressure me or mine into using your nutty pronouns. You can try but you'll have as much luck as Commie Bonnie Henry did cancelling Christimas. Nobody forced Kaepernick to shut up and sit down. Many stopped going to the games though. You can do that and still love freedom.1 point

Yet, they'll compel women to be pregnant, regardless of the emotional, mental and physical effects. Conservatives would compel LGBTQ people to hide who they are. Conservatives would compel children to recite prayers, regardless of whether or not they 'believed'. Conservatives would compel people like Colin Kapernick to shut up and sit down. Don't hand out BS about how Conservatives are all for individual rights, freedom of religion, or freedom of expression.1 point

I do see the irony. But perhaps a more equal division between red and blue in any State would result in more balance between between progressive and conservative policies, and overall a better place to live for everyone. But I think that's a pipe dream - political corruption and division is the name of the game now, and that's likely going to lead to some kind of disaster.1 point

For anyone and everyone that is upset about Roe v Wade being overturned, what were you content with? Even in California there were some limitations for abortions. Were any limits reasonable to you? First trimester? Second? Did you want the limit right up to the moment of birth? Or perhaps even beyond that? I ask this question because many opponents of this recent decision are making very strong claims like the US is going back to the dark ages and so on. It seems there are more restrictions on abortion in Europe as compared to the US yet it doesn't seem to be as contentious an issue over there.1 point

1. As an JW, when my daughter in school, I chose to have her sit out in the hallway during morning prayers, because everyone else was "false", whether aetheist, Christian, Muslim or Jews and were praying to a false God. So, no, they aren't all "the same". 2. It's hardly the fault of the CBC that conservatives have some bee in their bonnet about it. Conservatives (in general, not you specfically) are expert at putting down anything Canadian that they don't like, it seems. Calling Canada fascist and a dictatorship, calling liberal minded people Nazis and marxists. Maybe a little more CBC in their lives would help them appreciate Canada more.1 point

no 79% of women want the government to restrict abortion not self restriction it is not just men making these decisions, plenty of women too your whole battle of the sexes, men holding women down narrative is bullshit1 point
-
I asked you a question but you won't answer it. I'll ask you one more time. What restrictions would satisfy you short of an complete ban? Why should anyone have to walk away?1 point

Yes, and I am one of them, as I noted above. So in the event I had to make a decision about a pregnancy, I would restrict myself, as I'm sure most women already do. At least 79% of them, by your information there. But that's not good enough for men. They must control ALL women. I also think there should be exceptions to the restrictions, as I noted above in my comment about my mother's stillbirth. Even a late term abortion should have exceptions and not banned outright. I don't believe women who experience miscarriages should be charged with murder or go to jail. I think these kinds of decisions should be made by the woman and her doctor. My problem is that MEN are making these decisions. MEN who do not know the most basic things about female reproduction. No exceptions means that for every ectopic pregnancy (where the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus and thus is completely non-viable and puts the life of a woman at stake) a woman will die needlessly. When I read comments about some of the things men believe about women's bodies and reproduction, I am aghast at the ignorance. I dont' trust these old white men to make decisions for women. Best left between a woman and her doctor. My fear is this is just the beginning of loss of rights for women. The first woman born in the USA to be able to apply for and get her own credit card.....is only 48. Men trying to keep women controlled, regulated and "in their place".....is not new to me.1 point

79% of women support some restrictions on abortion 83% of men support some restrictions on abortion it's not a men vs women thing only a 4% gap1 point

You are the one who admires them. You support packing a court on ideological basis, you support the attack on elections. You support a man like Trump who does all of those things. You are the one who would go along with the Nazi rise to power with your blind faith in your dear leader.1 point
-
91% of the people who voted for this are NOT women. It's very much a men vs. women thing. No woman would vote to die because of a non-viable ectopic pregnancy. Men are making that decision for women.1 point

I have, yes. And with these stations I would be more likely to use an EV when I go to Montreal again. It's a start. These are Fast Chargers, people won't be waiting there all day. You don't have to be rich to own an EV. And the Oil industry is heavily subsidized. The government knows this is the way personal transportation is going, so infrastructure is being invested in. Also, these are privately run Charging Stations. Users pay to use them. No different from the Canadian Tire Gas Stations at these OnRoutes. The government isn't subsidizing Tim Hortons here. It's just a convenient place to have these things.1 point

Great mama Russia gloriously defeated Chechnya (population less than a million) and Georgia (around 5 million, no army) and Syria (mostly unarmed civilians) by bombing them into the ground. Having a bit of a problem (that's putting it very mildly) in Ukraine that didn't have a functional army a few years back - supposed to have ended in three (sic) days (yes). Now what can it do about little pesky Lithuania defying it for the umpteenth time in a row? Can it do, anything?1 point

Afghanistan worked like a charm gummed up the works real bad for the Russians now do the same thing in Ukraine sure there will be some blowback but it's worth it to f*ck with the Russians can't do anything about them attacking people in their own country but you can neuter their ability to do it abroad1 point

The Spanish did slaughtering under Cortez. In Canada the French allied with the Hurons and the Six Nations allied with the Brits. The Brits even tried to carve out a native country, which the US prevented. Tecumseh was killed in the process. Many people try to take a colonization process that unfolded gradually over hundreds of years and make it sound like the colonial powers charged into Canada and beat the locals into submission. Often the missionaries and drafters of policies were considered the progressives of the time, but the game now is to judge the past by todays standards, as though the first Governor was a failed Gloria Steinem or FN Chief. There was no Indigenous public education system. That came from the colonists. Today’s revolutionary left are largely an ignorant and hypocritical lot, but they’re noisy and dangerous, as no one wants to be accused of being retrograde and cancelled.1 point

Well, that's good enough for me, let's invade Ukraine, let's burn it to the ground... let's kill everyone we can kill. I don't mean to put words in your mouth, but most western countries have neo-Nazi movements in them, ya the US, Canada, Germany, France, shit most western nations, let's commit genocide under the pretense of getting rid of Nazis globally' not to mention South America. Takes a special kind of low life ( because Russia does not have soldiers,) just thugs and killers to kill women and children and unarmed men...which is why the mighty Russian army still has not conquered its objectives yet...because they are cowards. How many Jews did the Russians kill?, better yet how many Ukrainians did mother Russia starve to death, lets do not even talk about the other blood-soaked hands of mother Russia.. Ya, I know western propaganda...Stalin was a saint, I'm sure he is burning in hell as we speak...1 point

FFS God didn't give you shit. Humans took those rights. often by force. And I've got a great idea. Why stop at states rights? Why not city rights? Why stop there neighbourhood, even block rights. Cut things down to a small a group as possible so you can get the 50% +1 that support your vision. The Church Lady and the Angry Old Man next door can decide what rights you have. You can call it 'real democracy' like Americans do. If you don't like it, you're free to move.1 point

been gone a while (nasty capitalist pig stuff, have to actually work) but thought of this thread when I was down in IA last week. The so-called "green" movement from the political left South of the border has seen 2 nukes and all of the coal fired capacity in IA closed down,. It was hot (95-100F most days) and I was watching a bunch of 80 year old diesel gensets get started and run flat out to feed the state grid. Yeah, the brilliant foresight of the Looney Left means that the state has to rely on ancient diesel gensets to meet their daytime loads. Yeah, go buy another Tesla (BTW THE most polluting way to move a motor vehicle - but since the truth doesn't fit the mindless logic of the virtue signalling set that will fall on deaf ears). If the effing morons would ever bother to actually LEARN anything about our environment, they would deal with the REAL issue (inability of oceans to absorb the CO2 we produce) and not screw uo the economy needed to DEAL with the actual problems.1 point

This is a very informative video about the mad rush to EV's. Should Ontario invest heavily in EV's because of the potential financial benefits to the province? Or is it because it will help save the planet? Or a bit of both? This guy covers a lot of the bases in this discussion and points out some huge red flags. He's certainly not anti-EV but more pro choice.1 point
