I've seen this quote attributed to an unspecified Czech reporter a couple of times, but I haven't seen any mention of who it was or what outlet they work for. This latest was in the Cgy Sun back in Feb: https://calgarysun.com/opinion/letters/letters-feb-13-ill-listen-to-the-doctors-thank-you?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR14A_GSXANFf06bOL4z22i8W8f9TAzVEbBSMvMphjYQkVcl2mMjdYHiMGs#Echobox=1613218558 I personally don't blame Trudeau or the sheeple, I blame the media who anointed him and who prop him up. Most people would accept the unlimited power of lording over the judiciary and having absolute control over the media, and would abuse their power over the police as well. Most people are going to believe what they see on several different media outlets in unison, and it's sad to say but a lot of people are also allergic to facts. The real rat here is our MSM.2 points

1. You don't like Trudeau, got it. I'm also not a fan but his imagined reactions behind closed doors are not so relevant. 2. I would like you to explain why you think that. Keep in mind that crisis is over 50 years old and is common knowledge. Why do you think that we will remember this protest in 50 years now ?2 points

The Trudeau regime has really divided the country and caused unwarranted national shame. This PM is so easily manipulated by the UN and WEF. Not even Biden is so foolish as to sign onto such agreements. So we are being asked to make reparations towards people who don’t pay taxes yet have the infrastructure on their land paid for, healthcare paid for, and education paid for (including higher education). Which Indigenous descendants today deserve reparations and who pays them? More than half the country came here within the past 50 years or are the descendants of recent immigrants. Our elitist government has agendas that are undermining the strength and sovereignty of Canada when it comes to energy, natural resources, the use of tax dollars, the imposition of carbon taxes, and other crushing inflationary measures that are hurting working Canadians and lowering living standards for all. The constant shaming of Canada through endless apologies and the vilification of Canadians who made mistakes but also did many good things, such as Ryerson, have just about destroyed our country. Vilify the essential workers and figures from the past who can’t defend themselves Don’t provide any historical context for past deeds that were considered among the most progressive reforms in the world. Our society is lost and we’re suffering the economic consequences. The burial media inquisition is just another iteration. Trudeau is not a good steward of this land. Expect more adherence to international organizations that are unaccountable to Canadians.2 points

1. Ad hominem... so boring... accusations of fear... yawn 2 Take a stand ? What exactly are most of them doing ? Posting nonsense on web boards seems like 3. Yes I am well aware of how percentages work. 0.1% of Canadians, just to pick a random number, sounds tiny to people who don't understand math. If that many died in a day... I guess they'd be with ok. 4. Why are you posting irrelevant information. Why don't you post the top causes of death ? 5. Liars liars everywhere... yawn... Tom Quiggin... yawn... Pat King... yawn... Tamara Lich... yawn... My advice: 1. Learn statistics 2. Learn politics 3. Leave the web board 4. Do something useful with your anger2 points
-
1. Not exactly. People DID die and were dying. >40K dead so far. Making light of a threat that large basically disqualifies you from serious discussion. 2. Hmm. Some. 3. After the fact assessment that the reaction was 'over the top' is subjective but ok. Let's ask this question. IF somebody stated to you in 2019 "There is something coming that will take over 40,000 Canadian lives - should the government do something ?". Also take into account that governments were initially sow to react. After all, people didn't believe something happening in China, Italy, England... was going to come here. 4. Ah... there it is... that YouTube meme catch phrase that implies Trudeau is using this health crisis for some shadowy plot. You should probably let go of this one, as the "anti-mask" tag is a stink, through and through. As Covid fades we will collectively look at the crackpots who feared masks as people to be ignored. The next thing this crowd comes up with will then be tagged as more conspiracy paranoia. Yes, I felt bad for the convoy people and all of us who had to endure this, and am not happy with current governments but "F*** Trudeau" is just a brainless chant better suited for a sports event. Go with politics or go home, the disruption tactics are failing and annoying those of us who are serious about politics.2 points

What a ridiculous premise. The MSM investigated and reported in Trudeau. If people chose to ignore those points that's their choice. There's no announcing happening and the real sheeple are the ones who direct their energy towards aimless complaints and lost causes.2 points

You keep asserting that the only other option besides softness is cruelty, aka the only other choice to deal with problems besides a progressive approach is a conservative approach. False dichotomy. We keep thinking like this and society will crumble.2 points

That's the way Canadian parliamentary democracies have always worked. Governments legislate, oppositions oppose. Vote against your party leadership and you risk getting turfed from you caucus.1 point

To add: You know, I do LOVE predictions but I am reluctant to make them. In the times I would have made them I am likely wrong a lot of the time but that's me. The stuff that people have predicted on this and other boards have been stunning.... Gerald Celente predicted food riots during Obama's first term https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Celente1 point

Don't bother. Look at his last probably 50 posts - not one intelligent thing to add or say. He's not here to discuss anything. He's here to rile up people, he gets off on it. I suspect he's a 300 lb 14 year old, sitting in his bedroom basement, stuffing his face with Cheezies and pop, getting off on riling up adults on the internet because no girls at school will give him the time of day. You haven't discussed anything. You insult. That's it. That's all you do.1 point
-
My bad. I thought (again ?) this was something you wanted to discuss. But (again ?) you have nothing to say, no links, nothing insightful to add. I keep forgetting that dishing out insults is basically all you're capable of. Toodles!1 point

1. I don't understand how you could be so misinformed. They investigated, yes, and BROKE the stories. If what you are saying was true they would have buried them. Just ridiculous. 2. What ? SNC Lavalin was front page and took Trudeau's majority. The Reconciliation Day debacle robbed him of his pious crown. Comparing to a US scandal is apples to oranges and very difficult to even pull off. I won't take your claim at face value that one story was in the headlines 'for months' and another wasn't.1 point

1. Ok, if you want to attribute that, say, Somalia or somesuch didn't shut down and that helped their death rates have at it. I will wait for your paper to be published and reviewed by authorized personnel before commenting though. 2. 3. A baby reaches for poison because it has a bright label. This is an analogy for your eyes. Also - I let my uncle Ted call me 'Mikey' because he babysat me. You call me Michael, or if you like I can call you "Dr. Retardo" 4. Wise people don't accept "official" positions just so, nor do they reject them just so. 5. Oh right on schedule.... a conspiracy... why don't you just lead with that next time so I can ignore the rest of your post ? 6. Yeah you said that before.1 point

1. That sentence gets more unprovable and ultimately laughable as the period comes closer. 2. I don't know who is right but I do know that no wise person makes declarations about history when something like this is so fresh.1 point
-
3. Not all governments actually. Quite a number of countries did not shut down. Interestingly enough...their death rates did not increase either. There are a number of "design flaws" in humans. One is the fact they we die. Another...IMO...is we have only 2 hands. All through this...wildly overblown cold...death rates did NOT spike. In other words...we needlessly scared the hell outta everyone...well OK, most everyone...when all we really should have done is focus on the elderly and unhealthy closely. Something we should be doing anyway... 4 & 5. As opposed to what Mikey? Endlessly arguing that we must not trust what we see? Just because the "official" line tells you something, no longer means that something has any bearing on the actual truth of things. Our health systems have been usurped by people with "other agendas" and the government and health officials have managed to put a gag on any doctor who dare cross them. Its been obvious from the start. Yet you consistently want to site these...jack-offs...as THE AUTHORITY. They are not...anymore, and we know it. Thus you want me to "shut up" and then make your customary stretch of reality and accuse me of thinking Trudeau is Hitler. When its obvious I think he's nothing more than an effeminate li'l pee-on who is bought and paid for and at the disposal of the Chinese. If anything "good" has come of this last decade of stupidity, its that "The Swamp" has finally revealed itself, in all its slimy splendour. Now...its not just those faux conservatives and Libbies alike, used to call "conspiracy nuts", its a lot more people. Every obvious lie...every warping of law and reality...all of it slowly surfaces like worms after a fresh rain. And now...we see it for what it is. "DON'T LOOK ETHEL! But is was too late. She'd already gotten a 'free shot'." So I'm here, along with many many others who's eyes have been forced open, to tell people like you, who would defend the trouncing of our society based on a pack of lies... The jig is up. Go fuck yourself.! If and when you decide to give up this silly charade and decide facts and reality actually matter...I'll be here willing to listen. But as long as you insist on perpetuating this...this...pool of horseshit... Well...you know...1 point

1. Trudeau had no say. Local police did pretty much nothing for weeks to the point where the chief lost his job. 2. The Convoy people would have been killed the first few days in a real dictatorship. Please, this thing is months behind us now - stop with the overdramatizing of it. The protest overachieved and even resulted in O'Toole getting tossed, helping Trudeau. Please be satisfied with the results of the F*** Trudeau parade and move on... The best is misrepresenting the protest all over the map and accusing others of 'lies'....1 point
-
The protest intended to protest. The Ottawa police were well aware they were coming, which is why they assisted in telling them where to park the rigs. They said from the beginning that they would not leave until they were heard by the government. Instead of meeting with the protesters or sending someone to meet with them or even addressing their concerns in any way, Trudeau used the propaganda arm of the media, lied about them, called them names and ignored them. When they didn't leave, Trudeau had them tear-gassed, beaten, arrested, fined, rigs towed and declared a fake emergency. You know, the same thing that goes on in other dictatorships and communist countries.1 point
-
This seems to say that the protests were organized and response to comments by the government, which makes no sense at all. -_--_---_----_-----_ I couldn't find any reference to an antifa demonstration in Ottawa but finally found one in 2017 that was antifa in tandem with a far right group. No incidents were recorded. There was a BLM protest a couple years ago, and indeed people were arrested at that. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/protest-ottawa-arrests-day-of-action-for-anishinabeg-1.58112761 point

1. Kind of a false choice there. If I answer yes or no then I accept your premise that I'm trying to intellectualize myself. 2. Yes I understand it. 3. What exactly is the power grab once Covid is gone exactly ? Why did Conservative and NDP governments, Republican, Democrat, Italian, Australian, New Zealand... China, NKorea... so not the Liberals but all governments on... Earth 4. Ah yes... I see your response to me intellectualizing myself... ? Really rising to the occasion 5. Oh shut up with your drama... ? You are a teenager.. just a dumb monkey on a web board like all of us are. You think that Trudeau is Hitler and your response is to tell me to F*** myself, what a brave rebel... yawn...1 point

I made no dodge, I stated a fact. It is you who is lying. But I am not surprised when Conservatives lie, it is what they do when have no Cogent/Logical/Substantial/Well Thought Out Argument left to make. The whole principal of Diadactic Exchage escapes them. The training I outline as a Marine Recruit is true, that is training I received (that and training as an 0311 Combat Infantry Rifleman) before being shipped out to Viet Nam. It is also true it took over an hour for Armed Police to enter the school, even as students were calling 911 for very urgent assistance. It is also true that any person over the age of 18 can purchase a semi-automatic weapon in Texas, have be over 21-to buy a revolver or pistol. It is also true that as much Texas ReThugs complain the mental health of shooter, the State of Texas has made very drastic cuts to mental assistance in that state. It is also true the Oranged Faced 5-Deferment Draft Dodging Coward made it a lot easier for with a history of Mental Health Problems and/or Spousal Abuse to have access to firearms. A Universal Background Check would have prevented the shooter from buying his two AR-15 Semi-Automatic Weapons and thoe innocent children would still be alive This what lying Cons do, ignore the facts and instead in engage in sounds bites and lies. Cons do not know how govern, for them it is about the power. Nice try ? epic fail.1 point

I will say this but one time and one time ONLY. I AM NOT.....REPEAT NO A "LEFTIST/I AM NOT A MARXIST/I AM NOT A LENINIST/I AM NOT A COMMUNIST!!!! There is no need to insulting. I am pround and Progressive American. I am for very Gun Control Laws. You have already read my post on the Training I received in the United States Marine Corps prior to ordered to Viet Nam. FYI, the NRA did not allow Firearms on the floor of their Convention.....wonder why. Univeral Background Checks would have kept the shooter from having in his possession two semi-automatic weapons, period end of sentence. I will say, no need to insulting. If you want respect, you give respect. If you deal crap you get crap...just saying.1 point

This is the mess of identity politics that our governments have embraced. It now dominates our educational institutions. It’s reckless. Claims by parents of political agendas and indoctrination in special interest ideologies are on solid footing. Our education system is doing dubious things to children. They are indeed forming our citizens. Do they know what they’re doing? Get back to literacy, numeracy, science, arts, etc., and stop pushing a vocal special interest political perspective on the young. Parents didn’t sign up for this.1 point

Sometimes I think some people enjoy a horrific mass shooting of say...innocent children. It gives them an opportunity to go out onto the street and flaunt their self-proposed virtue by attacking convenient enemies as perpetrators. This one below has to be the funniest thing I've seen all year. Phonies.1 point

Was it nationalism that got us into those wars, or the lack of it? A pure nationalist would be an isolationist, and would just say "Let them kill each other" and get on with the business of strengthening their own country. "The thing" that got us into two world wars is more like what's going on in Ukraine right now. NATO wanted to flex on Russia, they wanted to get right in Russia's grill along the 2,000 km Ukrainian border. Russia isn't having it. Now it's a mess, but it's a mess that we're getting more and more involved in because...... we're not nationalists. We're "interventionists" at best, but in this case we're "assholes".1 point

There is racism all over the world. It is not a liberal or conservative or political party thing (well, maybe certain countries have racist policies). It is not just "white" people that are racists. There is racism in China, against regional peoples. There is racism in Japan against anyone not Japanese. There is racism in Africa, one tribe against another. There is even racism amongst minorities towards others. A black person can be an asshole and that is not racism, just a fact. A white person can be an asshole and that is not racism, it is also a fact. Calling someone a name or making a disparaging remark may not necessarily be racist, it may be an opinion of that person.1 point
