  1. You basically mean for Conservatives to beat Liberals they must become Liberals. I’d rather have a conservative opposition than a Liberal government and Liberal opposition, which may be what we have now. The Conservatives have to absorb the PPC, take disaffected Liberals, and divide the left by boosting the NDP. Not sure there will ever be a conservative government. Canada pretty much has a one-party socialist system. Pluralism is dead in Canada. Woke internationalist ideologues have infiltrated big business, education, and government. Talk to your Equity Officer. In less than 5 minutes you’ll see how free speech, merit, and authentic dialogue are dead. Your role is to assume your pre-determined position as either victim or oppressor based on your race, gender, and sexual orientation. If you have a privileged identity, follow the ally script that you’re given. If you’re a member of the underprivileged identity, demand the freebies that the state thinks you deserve. Add taxation and regulation because “climate change”. Add public health fear and mandates because Covid. That’s politics now. No discussion. All policy and beliefs are downloadable from the WEF and the UN.

Rex Murphy will be the keynote speaker. Has anyone seen Trudeau comment on this?

  3. Had this conversation with the wife. I have always believed that the West brought the absolute best in everything to the world and nothing can shine a light to it. The argument began on the top of colonialism, which was indeed bad in many ways, but the nations who benefited from it are now better than they were. Who would not want to inherit the Western capitalist traditions and riches that the West created? Indeed, as bad as the residential schools were you have to admit we dragged millions of natives on the continent into a new exciting world of the West. The wife's argument was what is different is not better. And she is right. The different societies the West encountered were different but not better. In South East Asia we brought millions out of poverty. The entire world is richer than it ever was with the exception of Africa.

  4. So apparently the Conservative Party of Canada has shafted Joseph Bourgault, the only true pro freedom candidate in the race. The guy raised enough money (roughly $400k) and gained the correct number of delegate signatures required to register as a party candidate. Yet he's not allowed? The CPC is no different than the Liberals

  6. Wow dirty dirty Democrats. There is really nothing they haven't tried. Although legal in some states, I can't imagine that a modern country allows other people to hand off someone's voting package. In Canada we are crossed off the voting roll, and the poll watcher watches as we put the ballot in the box.

  7. there is a poison pill written into the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms in Canada, the first amendment is called Section 1 1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. this section was meant to be used only in the most extreme circumstances, think World War Two level of emergency but since that is not written into the clause the governments in Canada use Section 1 promiscuously, as a catch all anytime the governments here want to nullify your rights for any reason, they invoke Section 1 your right is deemed to be "unreasonable", cannot be "justified in a free & democratic society" so it turns out the Canadian bill of rights ain't worth paper it is written on, as it is nullified without restraint thus, Canada is not actually a free country by the standards of American freedom as in Canada, freedom is subject to whatever the government in power subjectively decides to be "reasonable"

  8. I was just watching Biden addressing the media on TV this morning. Apparently the economy is wonderful. Might be a bit of an inflation problem but Trump did that and sniffy Joe has it under control. He's got a crackerjack team in the Fed working on it. Putin is driving up the price of oil, but Joe released the oil reserve. He's going to raise taxes on oil producers and take their leases away. Good thinking Joe. That'll fix em'. Cheap gas is right around the corner now. You're such a wizard, Joe. It's the same with the Democrats in general though. BS, diversion and finger pointing is all they've got but I worry that it might be enough.

  10. Especially if Poilievre promises "hey we're going to do something to fix the housing crunch in Canada by cracking down and getting tough on money laundering. This will have the effect of cutting property values by as much as up to half their current inflated values and restore affordability to ordinary Canadians." Trudeau would probably win by the biggest landslide in Canadian history. Of course Justin Trudeau brings on lots of sneering, he's the perfect lightning rod for distracting Canadians from what's really important in the scheme of things. But what so many people, and conservatives especially, always seem to miss is that the sneering is based on such ridiculous premises, that he's the next Fuhrer etc, that it acts more against the people throwing it at him. If there is an elite that's sitting back while their useful "idiot" keeps the more ridiculous voices in the opposition's base front and center, that elite is laughing all the way to the laundromat bank.

  13. So I was too cheap to pay the $30 but the trailer mentioned voting drop boxes? Why would there be unsecure drop boxes? That seems like a VERY bad idea. The only drop box we have in Canada is the one at the polling station that can only be accessed during voting hours. The idea of people being able to unmonitored push things into a drop box seems like a cheat waiting to happen.

Given the complaints I read online that truckers weren't getting paid, it's pretty understandable that they needed to verify IDs, and such. Also banks are very aware that money laundering is very easy via charities like this. It plays this way: I have a bunch of $$$ that I need laundered but fast. I contact someone on the inside who holds the codes to the GoFundMe account and say - if I donate $100K, you cash it out and keep $10K for yourself and give $90K back to me. Nobody needs to be the wiser - tell everyone it was an accounting error. Hickety boo, patriotism wins again...

  15. Potentially the greatest mass extinction since the permian. I don't want to cause thread drift. So I'll just say that science should never be political. Science is serious while politics is sport. Politics should be fun and not a spectator sport. If Poilievre becomes Prime Minister, he will do pretty much what Prime Minister Trudeau would do. If he doesn't, he won't be PM for very long. His cabinet will have a number of people who have been around the block a few times and won't take kindly to being told what to do by Poilievre. The secret to being a good PM is don't fall for the myth that you have any power. You have to listen to people who know what they are talking about.

  20. I am sure most developers are also significant (fill in any political party) donors. Businesses of all stripes donate to all political parties just to butter their bread. Lobbyists are also apolitical. Whomever sits on the throne gets visits from lobbyists. Even if not sitting on the throne, lobbyists are active to get anyone on their side to move whatever project they have forward. That is the entire reason for lobbying. For sure Ford has lobbyists, as did McGunty and Wynne and even Horwath gets funds and lobbying action (primarily unions ). As for land, most land is owned by private persons or businesses or developers.

ExFlyer - I'm coming to settle on THREE hallmarks of the New Fake Conservatives: -Labelling -Scare Mongering -Anti-intellectualism Calling something a name (Fascism, Marxism, Wokism are all interchangable) is a sold go-to for people who believe that political discussion should consist of slapping a label on something then dancing around at how clever you are. None of the Canadian parties are fascist of course. Ford was a populist, even, and as such it's a little weird to see the NFCs feast on the ample flesh of one of their own. They will do it though. They are cannibals !

  28. There are some new studies that are worrying. Geert Vanden Bossche has been warning for something like this. I post this here because he says governments must prepare large antiviral campaigns NOW. This study says that the "vaccine" prevent protecting antibodies to be produced for new variants. If you have an infection from a new variant after the shot you still only produce the old variant antibodies. "Viral variant infection elicits variant-specific antibodies, but prior mRNA vaccination imprints serological responses toward Wuhan-Hu-1 rather than variant antigens. 29. Now you have the picture. No matter which party forms a government, they have only a narrow range of policy directions to choose from. With a problem like inflation, Climate change, the pandemic etc., there is only a couple of solutions and they are similar to one another. The solutions to all problems lie in the centre. You do not win voters over by telling them they are wrong and you are right. The voter is a lot smarter than most of the people on this forum...including me, of course. I've been working on campaigns for the Progressive Conservative party since the 1960's, but I still have a lot to learn. Well, you may be in luck. If we end up with Mr. Poilievre as leader, we could end up with Mr. Trudeau running the show until 2029. Pop Quiz: Who is the only Conservative to ever beat a Trudeau? Which two Conservative leaders won the largest majorities in Canadian history?

  32. That's the thread about Trudeau's hate speech where your only comment, on P 3, was to whine about people being accused of lying. (I know that you have a massive tolerance for lies - all leftists do - but FYI that's not a superpower) I've never seen you be even the least bit critical of Trudeau's hate speech at any point in time. You just get upset when he's criticized and you say things like "I'm a conservative but I think that was fine". There's your proof. Took me one minute. Proof that you weren't groovy with Trudeau's comment actually needs to come from you. If you think that you weren't ok with it, then show us where you excoriated him for his bigotry.... Are you accusing me of saying that Levin wasn't a never Trumper? I don't even watch his show. I have no way of knowing what his opinion of Trump was at various points in time. Awww, poor MH is bored. Please don't think that you're doing me any favours by taking me off of your ignore list, being on there is actually a badge of honour and I couldn't really care less what you read or what you'd like to say. Its all basically "Conservatives should be kinder to Trudeau, he's really not that bad, and his fabrications are adorable." 35. Oh, you guys don't know that half of it. Their big mistake is that all the related data never changed, so all circumstantial and related data point to a Trump win, and only the vote count says otherwise. For example: How do you win 81+m votes despite losing house seats in the bluest of areas, like New York and California? How did the down ballot races not translate anywhere close to Biden’s votes? How did Trump set GOP records with minority voters, not seen since the 1960’s? How did Trump INCREASE his votes between elections, by over 10.5m which is second or third historically, and almost never happens? Reagan increased his votes by more, in his 49 state landslide. Most US presidents LOSE votes between elections - Obama lost something like 4-5 million. How did Biden win the most amount of votes ever on record, yet win the election with the fewest amount of counties won, also a record? How did Trump lose the election, while carrying 99% of all Bellwether counties by an average of a 16-point margin? That many Bellwether counties being wrong on an election outcome is a statistical anomaly not ever seen on record. How did nursing home and hospice care centers boost voting by 90% in some urban areas, dramatically increasing the # of patients in them who vote, by a magnitude that’s also unprecedented and off the charts… How did Trump win African-American majority counties 9% to Biden’s 8%? How did he win Hispanic-majority counties by 39% to Biden’s 19%? These things are all IMPOSSIBLE if Biden really won.

Also very surprised that the government is telling them it's perfectly safe when the manufacturer says it is not.

  47. Sad to see someone like you who used any snarky attack as an excuse to ignore the argument I made. How convenient for you to avoid the fact that I destroyed your lie. Here you go, sans the attack: The people of Florida passed a law by way of their elected leaders that they did not want little kids exposed to sexual issues. That is their right, and it was done the way a democracy works. A billionaire from a big media company in an entirely different state did not like the law and decided to interfere in our democracy by using corporate power to overturn the will of the people. That is not free speech as you say it is, that is using power to thwart the democrat process. Now, this company, which also had assets in Florida, was getting away with sweetheart deals of paying no taxes. I believe it was Bernie Sanders who said that companies need to pay their fair share, so DeSantis said, its time for you to start. Let that be a lesson to you. The cherry on the cake is the issue: Sick filthy degenerate teachers were grooming little kids 5 to 8 years old in schools with their sexual opinions. Disney supported that. The people of Florida did not like that. The people of Florida won, thank God. As for YOU, your siding with quasi-pedophiles, and with big media who think they can usurp the democratic process, says much.

  49. It was grossly irresponsible bordering on liable to engage in mass propaganda and forcing of quasi-vaccines on general population before studying and knowing with at least some confidence their long term effects. There was no justification. It was nowhere near plague or Spanish flu. There are successful countries that managed it just with honest information and top notch health system. One day, Canada's opaque, unaccountable propaganda and trigger-happy public management will lead the country into real serious problems with no obvious exit. Now we know that there's nothing, no checks nor controls to prevent that.
