  1. Guy, guys, guys, this discussion has veered way too far off topic. Trudeau was found guilty of ethics violations and using his office in a completely inappropriate way. So let’s get back to what Harper knew, and what Harper has to do with it, and how disgusting Harpers behaviour has been!

  4. Long story short, two members of the squad, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, didn't go to Israel with 51 other Congresspersons (30 Rep and 21 Dem), instead they were going on a trip to "Palestine" (their name for Israel) funded by a group called Miftah a week later. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/miftah-group-tlaib-omar-israel-suicide-bombing-sacrifice-for-the-cause Miftah promote the BDS movement, as do Tlaib and Omar. The two were banned from entering by the Israeli gov't, Tlaib said that she needed to go there to see her Granmdmother one last time, so the Israelis offered to give her entry on compassionate reasons, then Tlaib declined. Side note, Palestine just made their position on LGBTQ official: https://www.foxnews.com/world/palestinian-authority-bans-lgbtq-west-bank Israel and LGBTQ: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Israel

  5. Came across this story on the web. Haven't seen it anywhere else. It seems the Liberals have done a deal with China to let them build the LNG pipelines in BC so no one has to hire many expensive Canadian workers to do the job. MARKHAM, Ontario, Aug. 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The federal government announced on August 9, 2019, that it will be granting full duty remissions on illegally dumped fabricated steel from China to supply two liquid natural gas (LNG) projects located in British Columbia. Their recent action was announced with their assurance that “trade barriers would not be permitted to stand in the way of these historic private sector investments”. The two projects involved are LNG Canada and Woodfibre LNG, both located on the coast of B.C. The partners in LNG Canada are made up of a consortium of investors of which include China. These two LNG projects will be modularized, meaning they will be built in smaller shippable pieces with all the equipment and components preinstalled. The modules will be connected on site, requiring very few construction workers. Essentially, in doing so, the largest project ever in the history of Canada will be handed over to Chinese businesses and workers. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/liberal-government-hands-42-billion-140354941.html

  6. The irony of all this is that if the Mufti & crew had accepted the 1947 UN Partition Plan, they'd own Tel Aviv right now. But, no...the Mufti & friends were having none of that sharing with the Jews jazz. The pie was to be all theirs. They wanted Jordan too...but that's another tale. War was the answer. It's STILL their answer. These two terrorist supporters have no interest in sharing with the Jews, either. The "grandmother thing" pretty much proves Israel's point.

  7. It's a generational thing, like the Boomers becoming Hippies. The lost boys of the Millennial Generation wandering off to join strange cults and see the Elephant, stare into the abyss. It's coming home to roost upon their Helicopter Parents. If you Helicopter Parent your kids, they don't learn about danger, it makes them reckless. I know my father loved me with all his heart, but I also knew that if I went completely beyond the pale, he would have said "you're on your own now, boy, I can't help you"

  8. Canada will have to accept him if he arrives at the border. How he gets here is his own problem. Maybe his parents will help him get out of there, if they don't also go to jail themselves. They are charged with sending money to fund terrorism, all while just trying to get him out of there. They have a message for him- "Thanks, son."

  12. The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech - nowhere does it guarantee the right to exist without ever feeling offended. If a cartoon of Muhammed or an op-ed about **whatever** makes someone feel "alienated" or "derided" or whatever else, that's unfortunate. But frankly, there are few Westerners who do not feel personally targeted by some speech or another at one time or another. Until Islam became a factor in the West, we all accepted this as part of the price of freedom. Criticism of religion has been recognized as legitimate for a long time now. And those who insist on putting a wall of protection around certain religions or issues are missing the big picture - freedom of speech should never take a backseat to personal sensitivities.

  17. Uneducated, third world types with no awareness or understanding of modern culture and values locked into a mentality from centuries ago that is often backed up by religion. The Syrian refugees we brought over, for example, were mostly goat-herders, rural peasant types with little education or modern job skills. Why is everything about skin colour to progressives?

  22. Right on. It's the suppression of speech which favours Islam and that people do perceive what is happening as towing the Islamic line. They see double standards regularly where any other religion can be attacked with impunity with no reprisals.

  29. Everyone's a white supremacist these days, and it's this type of 'journalism' that drives the narrative... there's a piece here that speaks to it, although it's American. https://amgreatness.com/2019/08/12/the-white-supremacy-hoax/ The specter of white supremacy haunts America. Let us empower the government to crush it. Just yesterday, “the deplorables” were to be deplored because they were “racist, sexist, homophobic,” clingers to “God and guns,” and Russian dupes to boot. Today, the agility and unanimity with which our politicians and media—heck, the ruling class—have shifted to indicting roughly 72 percent of the population as white supremacists, likely violent, would fill with envy their homologues in China, Cuba, North Korea, and other tyrannical places. By comparison, Joseph Goebbels had sloppy message discipline. Not even the Soviets in their salad days were so “on message!”

  30. How so... the RCMP did not lay charges against SNC Lavalin until 2015. And what do you mean, "deal with SNC-Lavalin"? That is not the PM's job. That's what the legal system and courts are for. Please explain how you think Harper was responsible and could have dealt with it under his tenure.

  32. Lately I've been quite saddened to see newspapers from communist China and articles in Al Jazeera being more straighforward and truthful than our media here in Canada. The fact that countries in the middle east can make better decisions than our own government is even more alarming. Trudeau is doing an excellent job of destroying nationalism here. My pride of country is dropping like a lead balloon lately.
