At some point, you can't simply say this is just some random persons opinion and not that of the WEF. They clearly have an agenda around "sustainability" and "climate change" policy and while they are not making an official position on eating bugs, they host these opinions and promote them to further those causes. Hiding behind just saying this is an opinion is disingenuous. Its like saying if you host someone on your drive way holding a sign about how much they love cats and dogs suck... at some point, you can't just say it is just some guys opinion and nothing to do with you. 1 Quote

Barquentine Posted May 9 Report Posted May 9 Last year I worked on a really, really huge building being built by a bio-agriculture company. They are growing insect protein (mealworms I think) initially as animal feed but eventually to be incorporated into human's food. Sound like a good idea - Large amounts of protein grown quickly and efficiently without clearing more forests, or adding large amounts of waste products.. This is simply a type of farming. I'd rather have a bug than a cow's rectum in my hot-dog. And if private industry is willing to invest hundreds of millions in it, there must be something to it. 1 Quote
