No one ever voted for both Trump and Bernie, and he only supported Tulsi when she was a Dem because his cult allowed him to support Dem candidates. 

And FYI it's not unusual for people to pretend to support other political parties for various reasons. In the case of the Butler shooter, he wanted better access to Trump's schedule. There are people like MH who like to say "I'm a conservative and even I hate that guy", thinking that pretending to be a conservative gives his anti-conservative opinions more weight. Sometimes people want to influence the other party's primaries to get the worst candidates elected. Theoretically CNN even gave Trump extra airtime to help him win so that Hillary could beat him. 

The fact that this guy went so far as to pretend to align with the other party just to be a backstabber puts him squarely in the same boat as the first wannabe Trump assassin.

Do you ever pretend to support certain politicians just to get the chance to betray them? If you didn't before, you'll probably start now.

Actually, there is a process that is nationally agreed upon.

However, what you are talking about is an unforseen circumstance. What the Dems did was run a man knowing he is not competent enough to serve, suppressed all other candidates and then forced him off the ballot and supplanting their Manchurian Candidate.
