This is like David knocking out Goliath with hurricane of rabbit-punches and is a perfect example of why Ukraine isn’t doomed: their soldiers have superior training, skill and motivation while the Russian army is made up of poorly trained, poorly motivated conscripts taken from prisons and street corners.

He would not have boldly attacked Ukraine like this if he knew the consequences for doing so would be severe.

Ultimately he will lose more than intended, but he will get a slap on the wrists in that he bogarted a country, and one way or another will get negotiated dibs on land for his troubles.

But since 1990 or so, every time I see a photo of the G-20 or whatever it is now, I am reminded of this photo:

I'm not a big fan of the russian military, nor their attacks on Ukraine, but if history has shown us never under estamate Russia military machine...Deaths of their country men mean nothing to Putin or for that matter any other Russia dictator...Putin could loss a million in Ukraine and not effect is will to take ukraine...as for equipment losses , yes they have been heavy, but Russia has atleast 14,500 plus tanks pre conflict of all types in its inventory...so it is not out of the fight just yet...

As for how the fight is going right now, Ukraine has been successful in holding back Russian troops but it is also taking heavy losses...Ukraine is having a manpower shortage...it is also suffering from war fatigue, where the west is getting tired of supporting them...Biden is taking lots of hits for sending funding and equipment to them...and what they are sending them is not going to let ukraine go on any offense any time soon...Canada's support is minimal, i mean we really could have gutted our military and not made much difference to us or ukraine...

It is going to be a long cold winter for both sides..like dougie said mostly with ranged attacks, or with small drones...all Russia has to do is play the long game, NATO has never been any good at the long game....and when western support falls off and it will, Russia will have its day of victory...they don't care what their losses are...what they care about is victory

I think once trump gets in, it's over for US support , when that happens it will only be a matter of time before europe throws in the towel as well....
