The land of Israel has been populated by the Jewish people since 2000 BC. Here's the timeline, in case you didn't realize that it is their homeland, as designated by Yahweh.

1900 BC:
- Abraham chosen by God as the Father
of the Jewish Nation.
1900 BC:
- Isaac, Abraham's son, rules over Israel.
1850 BC:
- Jacob, son of Issac, rules over Israel.
1400 BC:
- Moses leads the people out of Egypt
and back to Israel.
1010 BC:
- King David unites the 12 tribes into one
nation.
970 BC:
- King Solomon, son of David, builds the
first temple structure in Jerusalem
930 BC:
- Israel is divided into two kingdoms, the
Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of
Judah.
800s BC:
- The rise of the prophets, God's
messengers.
722 BC:
- Kingdom of Israel is conquered by
Assyrians.
605 BC:
- Kingdom Judah is conquered by the
Babylonians.
586 BC:
- Solomon's Temple is destroyed by the
Babylonians.
539 BC:
- Persians conquer the Babylonians and
take control of Israel.

- The Jews return to Israel from exile.

After that, the people were captives to the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Crusaders. Through all of these events, the Jewish people continued to live in Israel. There were more or less of them, depending on the centuries, but there was never a time when the Jews didn't live in the land. They stayed, they built their communities, they raised their families, practiced their faith and they suffered at the hands of many outside rulers, but they always kept their faith. It is what sustains them, even now.

One person is saying that 1900 BC is relevant today, not "all conservatives", which you're implying.

Slavery is relevant in some conversations, but it's not the basis of all discussions. Also, when it's brought up, the topic needs to be discussed from a factual standpoint and not a bunch of ridiculous leftard talking points.

The Civil Rights Act is relevant, I don't know why it wouldn't be, and despite the fact that it was a Dem bill, a greater percentage of GOP voted for it than Dems in both the Senate and Congress. It's the only bill in the history of democracy that received greater support from across the aisle than from the party who tabled it.

Many Jews moved to Europe and elsewhere and intermarried with the native populations.

Some of the Jews remained in Israel and converted to Christianity or Islam.

So Palestinians have at least as much right to call themselves descendants of the Hebrews as the European colonizers who ethnically cleansed the majority population during the Nakba.

Well, there are some of us here who are not buying the Israeli story or possible lies. Somebody has to be right here, but who? I think that you should go and live with the Palestinians in Gaza for awhile and see what life is like there living under Israel tyranny. Just saying.

Exactly. The land belonged to BRITAIN before the formation of Israel in 1948. Britain gave the Arabs land and the Israeli's land. The raw truth of Israel is a story that is both tragic and nasty in many ways. It does not cast an appealing light on the "Israelis" or the Arabs.

For any interested, find out who the "Ashkenazi" are and their sorted history. Find out what the British did in order to halt the Ottomans...the double-dealing...the lies.

The raw truth is indeed ugly. But as I've said...Israel is now a real nation and as such, must defend its people. The people of Gaza ELECTED Hamas. So enough seething lies about the "innocent". Those Arabs are NOT "innocent".

The only way to have peace from Gaza, is to level it. Anything less opens the door to a future of repeated attacks.

The situation in Israel is far more complex than saying, “Hey, we lived here 2,000 years ago so you need to leave.” And it’s also more complex than, “The Ottoman Empire controlled this land in the 1800’s; they lost it to Britain after WW I, and Britain decided to create a Palestinian and Jewish State.”

Complex problems don’t have simple solutions. You’ve never been to Israel (or Florida), yet you think you can sit in your playpen, look at a 2,000 year old map and know what’s best for everybody, and anyone who disagrees with you is a nitwit. That’s ridiculous.

There were Jews who settled in Israel in the late 1800’s. They BOUGHT land and many were later murdered by the Arabs who also murdered the sellers. In 1917, Britain issued the Balfour Declaration, announcing support for a two state solution.

In 1948, this became internally and legally recognized with a UN vote, and the Palestinians and SEVEN Arab nations immediately declared war on Israel. If you believe in miracles, face it: The idea that a brand new nation of war refugees fought off seven countries on all sides and WON… that is a miracle.

And there was war after war after that. Consider one simple fact: The intent of every one of these wars was to 100% remove all Jews from the Middle East. And Israel won every time, and the Palestinians still live in Israel. In fact, over 20% of Israel’s population (not counting West Bank and Gaza, but Israel proper) is Palestinian Arab. 1 in 5 people. The Arab nations expelled their Jewish populations… no complaints about that in the UN, ever.

No its not. Look up the Balfore document and how the Rothchilds essentially bought the lands and gave the deeds to the migrating Jews from Eastern Europe.
