1) Just because people supported Trump and didn't feel like the election was fair doesn't mean they're patriots by any stretch of the imagination.

2) Some of the people who are in jail are there because they are violent criminals. It doesn't take a lot of force to be used against a police officer for it to constitute a crime, and smashing windows to get into the capitol buildings was also a crime.

The public release of more video simply confirms what many of us were saying shortly after Jan 6, namely that a very small number of people rioted while the vast majority did not. There is simply nowhere near enough evidence to classify  Jan 6 as an insurrection.
