I recommend the tin foil hat if you fear the "spying app." Do you have an article? This is the first time I am hearing of it. ?

The tin foil hat can:

  • Prevent the forces which you fear from reading signals coming out of your brain
  • Stop the forces which you fear from sending electromagnetic radiation into your brain
  • Block mind-control beams
  • Make a bold fashion statement
  • Offer protection from EM radiation in excess of safe levels (There are real cases where one might actually want some shielding)

This article is from January 2021.

The app was made optional in October:

The app was launched during the pandemic as a communication and screening tool to ensure travellers arriving in Canada complied with pandemic border measures. It later became a way for travellers to show their vaccination status.

The app was made optional in October. Fewer than a fifth of international arrivals to three of Canada's busiest airports used the ArriveCAN app in the first month after it was made optional.

(CBC).

--> So if the intent is to spy on Canadians, then this app would not work as people don't use it, it seems.

Who cares? It was mandatory for about a year and they spent a ton of money on it that should have been used to pay for useful stuff like health care. Especially during a so called pandemic

They cheaped out on health care by ripping off thr provinces in exchange for a spying app.

 Very sick person

The health care system was getting hit by the surge of aging boomers.
Then we had a pandemic that flooded them, mainly with people too stupid and obstinate to observe the precautions.
Which caused a huge backlog on treatments and surgeries. That kept staff working under pressure trying to catch up.
Now it's hit with a surge of kids whose parents were those stupid and obstinate ones pretending to give a shit about their kids health, the rest getting nailed with 3 years of normal flu variants at once from observing the only precautions that could be taken at the time, on top of three years of delayed retirements of medical staff.

And now we deal with the dupes, when federal spending on health care has never been higher cherry pick statistics to claim it has 'slipped to only'... ,
want it fixed tomorrow, won't commit to ensuring new funds are actually spent on health care, ignore announced federal promises of increases and want to Fed bash thinking action comes from more meetings.

Maybe you can design the PowerPoints and cater sandwiches at those meetings to pay for private health care instead.

How did Moms and grandmas of the past take care of their kids??? They certainly did not go to emergency when the kid has the sniffles or a fever.Yes, baby boomers (and older) were problematic during covid but the health backups today are younger moms not knowing what to do with their and kids.

The health care system (and others) has also been hit by the retirement of boomers leaving vacancies that can't be filled in the short term at least.

Everything is being affected by that. Nobody to take over the autobody shop, nobody to hire to do the work, no one to work at or take over the autoglass place, the cafes, the clothing store.
Been looking for doctors here for decades, can't even get nurses for the new hiospital under construction. Started a nursing program at UNBC years ago to address needs seen 10 years ago, we needed 5x as many programs 5 years ago to come close to the needs today.

School closures because there's no more kids in the neighbourhood my kids grew up in. More people & homes there - but a quarter the kids there were 30 years ago. Nobody planned ahead, let alone for the health & employment disaster of the last few years.

One local doctor tried to retire 15 years ago, but had to keep working. Trued again to semi-retire and ended up giving up his seat on Council as he was needed again in the local practice. My own doctor came from Namibia, loves it here but he's past retirement age now too. Should be able to enjoy his hobby farm and slow down, but he can't.

Well said.

Those are not a new problems.

As for "Federal funding to the provinces has slipped to just 22% or the total. ", which is what it is supposed to be. The provinces want it increased to 35% but, where is the money gong to come from?

Health care cots have gone sky high and considering it is a provincial responsibility, federal funding, while significantly increased ($2 billion in March alone), cannot keep up with the it. The provinces are the ones that distribute the federal funding.  And then, in November, the provinces rejected federal increase proposals. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/british-columbia/article-provincial-health-ministers-reject-proposed-federal-health-care/

Those living in the past should know that.

Trudeau has cut transfers to 22%. That's why the health care is in trouble

Get with the program. The transfers were always 22%. The Provinces wanted it upped to 35%.

The Provinces got an additional $2 billion in July building on the $45.2  billion provinces and territories will receive this year. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/news/2022/07/government-of-canada-makes-significant-additional-transfers-to-provinces-and-territories-in-support-of-health-care-and-transit.html

BC Conservatives Join With The Program

BC's Conservative Party which hasn't elected a single MLA in decades, has joined with the modern day Conservative approach. Lately my FB feed has been bombarded with anti Carbon Tax ads
-the #1 issue for Conservatives, who still lack an alternative after 20 years
-the prime choice media where utter fools to get their news

They also adopted the main Conservative policy of LIES and MISINFORMATION
-that Vancouver has the highest gas prices in N America because of the carbon tax (it doesn't- the Transit tax is almost 20c per litre, their gas is imported from the USA, prices are higher in many smaller remote locations)
-that it is an NDP tax (It was the first carbon tax in Canada, brought in by the BC Liberals, our 'conservative party')

I'm annoyed at how stupid, backwards and corrupt Canada's Conservatives have become since they decided "Progressive" was a dirty word. F**k them and all they stand for (which is nothing, zero to gain, everything to lose)

Federal spending has not been cut at all. You insist on LYING and doubling down on your LIES.

In effect it has been cut. Federal increases in health care transfers were limited to 3% or nominal growth in the economy. That doesn't take into consideration increased costs due to an aging population, more expensive technologies, new more expensive treatments and many other factors. All of those increased costs have fallen on the provinces alone.

"A direct link exists between ignorance of God - either willful or unintentional - and societal breakdown. This is the result of evolution: not a more advanced society with answers to all of life's problems, not a utopia of peaceful coexistence, not a world of highly refined beings who have ascended to the next "plane" of existence, but degeneration. The ultimate result of the theory of evolution - and Satan's intention - is the destruction of humanity and all semblance of order. We are increasingly seeing this breakdown within our schools and universities, on our highways, and in our neighborhoods. Mankind is certainly not evolving into anything better."

Pfft...

In Ontario the nurses are forced to work part time. 2 jobs, no benefits. That certainly needs "fixing".

Someone might wanna consider telling the various unions that its time to take care of Healthcare now. Sit down and shut up for a while. Healthcare and all emergency services need major expenditures.

Just do what Libbies love. Redistribute the wealth.

I do think feds would have a point when it comes to increased federal funding going to increasing health care budgets and not replacing existing provincial funding. That should be possible but will require the parties to sit down and figure it out instead of continuing to play politics with this issue.

Trudeau gutting funding to give to some nonsensical spying app is what is destroying health care. Very sick individual

Why not remove him from your avatar as a first step?

Really. The ones I hear from are griping at working extra hours, double shifts etc.

But then again, if you work non-union you gets as little as you'll degrade yourself for.

1.... not sure if thats a dig on conservatives or a telling sign that you boys in BC have been on the mushrooms for way to long...

2.... i fell the same way when it comes to SNC scandal, i mean what is a few hookers  and couple of bribes right, then the whole firing of the justice minister, and her girl friend, the old I'm feminist took a hit there, the handling of the whole pandemic thing, acting to late, our national stocks of PPE non existent and disposed of , but not replaced, so unprepared , we were forced to buy our way out of most problems, lets add sexual harassment in the RCMP and DND still struggling with that issue, governmental interference in the NS shooting, Gun control and the use of sneaking in a huge long arms ban in a hand gun ban bill. AGA khan affair, costumes in India affair, groping affair in 2000, We scandal, Nope no lies or deception here, move along people.

The conservatives have always had a plan, it has been released to the media, you just refuse to read it, while we are at that please tell us how the carbon tax is meeting any of our signed on to agreements, how this tax is benificial for the country and how is it fighting climate change?

Maybe you can give us some talking points on how corrupts conservatives are, have any of them given a friend a contract in the last week. Maybe moonbox can give the old your screaming into the wind speech, about adding nothing to the topic except emotions.

I just did. Constantly using misinformation
- in this case that the carbon tax is the cause of high gas prices (and they post prices from the peak several months ago on their ads)
    - so if prices have dropped 70c and carbon tax didn't change, after they peaked and carbon tax hadn't changed, only the utter fool would blame the tax

- add on stating it was an NDP tax when it isn't, their opposition imposed it and saying they'd get rid of it when that would mean the Feds simply reimposed it is a little absurd.

Join the list of Tory supporters that claim they have a Climate Plan. Tell me one thing about it. The brother in law (WAS) a hardcore Tory who kept telling me The Tool wold reveal it come election time. ??? gee no mention other than criticism of Liberal policy. And they LOST. AGAIN. Go ahead and deny lack of a climate plan hurt them badly.

As for BC Conservatives, I hope they do well. Every vote they get is one less for the Liberals (soon to be known as BC United).

Federally, I'll never vote Tory again until they smarten up and stop catering to rednecks and bigots, opposing every social program and remember the concerns of the average Canadian.

Fact is, federal health share is 22%, which includes all the factors such as inflation. A percentage is not a fixed figure, it is a portion of a total. Regardless of increases in costs, they get 22% funding.

The Feds have offered more but under conditions such as wants assurances people have access to a family doctor and to mental health services (a provincial jurisdiction) but the provinces rejected that. https://globalnews.ca/news/9259403/ottawa-increase-health-care-funding-provinces/

In 2016, legislation was changed to increases would be 3% over the past year or the nominal growth of the economy whichever is greater. That means if increased health care costs for the provinces exceeds that amount, they are on the hook for the difference and the federal governments percentage of total costs will continue to decline. It is 22% right now.

I agree with the feds that they would need assurances an increase in funding would go to an increase in total health care spending and not just replace some provincial spending to be used somewhere else. Instead of both sides playing politics, it's time they all sat down and figured how to do it. That is what they are being paid for.
