Do you even grasp the horror they live day in, and day out?

They're lucky if they even manage to a step inside the school - and you talk about drop outs?  Women in third worlds are at the mercy of their men!

Education should focus on the mindset of their men!

Goodness gracious. I feel you haven't been paying attention. I'm done with you Betsy on this topic.

...........when are these privileged women in our society going to march for women in third world countries who are being sold to slavery, forced into labor on top of caring for their

They are.  Thats what you fail to understand.  These women march for all women, around the world.   They let  oppressed women around the world know that it can be done.  They are examples and through their work, women around the world have benefitted because they focus attention on the problems all women face.

Its you who trivializes what they do.  Its you and your ilk who keep women in the dark ages, oppressed by the worst religion has to offer.

You seem very determined to drag christianity into this.  Anyway, maybe the tax savings should be spent on giving birth control injections to women.  In some cases, it should be mandatory.

Mandatory birth control injections?  This discussion has done a major freefall.

Well like I told Hal. Women have to have the abortions because it's impossible for men. However, if the tables were turned I have no doubt there would be no GGR.

If it were men, there would be a 100% sure birth control method, no government intervention or religious group intervention in the decisions they make with their own bodies and maternity clothes would be much more fashionable.

Not only did it not reduce abortions, it actually increases abortions. Here's the scholarly research on it from the World Health Organization, but then why would anyone actual inform themselves around here?

http://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/89/12/11-091660/en/

The authors write, "Our study found robust empirical patterns suggesting that the Mexico City Policy is associated with increases in abortion rates in sub-Saharan African countries."

Part of the problem as is witnessed by posters in this thread is the lack of comprehension by republican supporters.  They only need to inform themselves on the gravity of reinstating the GGR. In the end, we all want the same things for girls and women in third world countries but lack of understanding and knowledge about the GGR impedes this.

Its primarily the Christian right who drive the anti-abortion movement.

I think the men should be given mandatory birth control.  Especially in Western societies where men are forced to financially support their kids, whether they want to or not.

What is it you people don't get?  People enjoy sex starting in the teenage years. Nothing is going to stop that.

All methods of birth control have some risk, either for unwanted pregnancy or STD's. Abstinence is pretty much 100% guaranteed.
