Topaz Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) a few moments ago the PM went over to the opposite side of the House to help the Tory Whip get through a blockade of NDP MPs and while pulling the Tory through accidental elbowed a female NDP in the chest. Well, the House is in an uproar and even thought the PM shouldn't have gone over, which He has apologize twice for and it was wrong, why did the NDP MPs stop the Tory whip from sitting when a VOTE was about to be had. Is this a stall action of the NDP and or the Tory to slow done the vote? Watch the video. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-conservative-whip-1.3588407 Edited May 18, 2016 by Topaz Quote

Argus Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Well, it seems like Mister Trudeau is impatient at the slow course of debate in the House. I don't know about this one. In the CBC cite he says he thought Brown was being too slow, but in other media he says he thought Brown was being 'impeded' by the NDP. Brown doesn't seem to have been unduly bothered by it, but the NDP sure was. Derek 2.0 Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 I'm sure there will be apologists for JT defending this. Does this qualify as a micro aggression or regular old aggression? From the video, you can clearly see the NDP MP wince in pain....glad its 2016. Quote
Guest Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Yeah, I saw no elbowing on the vid. Did it happen off camera? Oops, just saw Derek's post. I'll have to look again... Oh yeah, saw it. I don't think he meant it... Edited May 18, 2016 by bcsapper Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 This is shocking.....what a bully this PM has turned out to be. That scene looks like the Toronto Blue Jays game after Bautista got punched. Sad.... Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Shady Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 What a classy guy. I can only imagine if Harper did that. Quote

Vega Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) What a classy guy. I can only imagine if Harper did that. Yeah, I can only imagine. I think the fact that Trudeau feels he can manhandle MPs is a bit concerning. Not even his father did that. Mulcair really got upset. Edited May 18, 2016 by Vega Quote
Argus Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) I really don't care either way, but yeah, I can only imagine. Mulcair really got upset. I'm sure if he elbowed a woman it was entirely unintentional. The only one who has real cause to complain would be Brown, presuming Brown was actually NOT being impeded against his will by the NDP. Ie, if he was just standing there listening to their conversation then Trudeau came and grabbed him by the arm, pulled him forward and sent him to his seat, well... that isn't acceptable. -1=e^ipi Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 What? Can't be. Trudeau is the most well behaved MP in Canadian history. It's not like he sticks his tongue out at people or calls ministers 'pieces of sh*t' in the house of commons... http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/justin-trudeau-allegedly-calls-peter-kent-a-piece-of-s-in-commons/ http://globalnews.ca/news/2684793/i-saw-him-stick-his-tongue-out-trudeau-accused-of-childish-behaviour-in-house-of-commons/ Quote

capricorn Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Why didn't the PM just stay in his seat in anticipation of the vote that was to be held. If he had done that the whole kerfuffle wouldn't have happened. This type of media attention threatens his sunny ways persona. It's not the kind of attention he or the Liberal Party want. Moonlight Graham Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) You know what's going to be almost as bad as the incident itself? The politicizing of this incident that's going to happen, and we already saw some of it in the House afterwards. Everyone from their partisan sides, on MLW, in the House, on TV/media, is going to try to use this incident to either to make the other side look bad, or try to downplay it. This thread is going to turn into a sideshow I just know it. I'm really, really tired of this kind of partisan nonsense, where people's reactions seemed to be based more on what makes them (or their "team") look good or others bad rather what is the right thing to do. Just look at the whole Bautista punched in the face thing, where a lot of people's view on it has a lot to with what team they root for. Innocent people, including kids, are getting murdered in Iraq and Syria and people are getting violent over a darn baseball game or some delay before a Commons vote. We all need to grow up and act like adults, behave in good faith, take the high road, act like civilized society should.
