America under President Trump

One of the interesting things he said in his 60 Minutes interview is that he feels that if it does get overturned, it'll become a States Rights issue.  I can't imagine that stance making either side happy.  Pro-life people don't just want abortion banned in Texas and Mississippi and Arkansas... they want it banned everywhere, because they feel it's murder and they don't believe murder should be allowed, period.

Another thing that doesn't make any sense... he claims that gay marriage won't be change because "its decided", but he plans to get abortion overturned. Why is overturning one ruling possible, but the other is somehow carved in stone?

He didn't say that during the 60 minutes interview.

Like I've been saying........and his response if a women wanted an abortion in a place that it was outlawed.....go out of State.

That is one of those really bizarre arguments that is sometimes thrown about that makes absolutely no sense.

So, the rich woman from (lets say) Texas, who just forgot her birth control can afford to fly to New York for a week, take in a broadway play when she's there, stay at Trump's hotel, and get an abortion while she's there. But the poor worker who makes a living flipping hamburgers for minimum wage who was the victim of sexual assault? So sorry... you're screwed. Have fun carrying an unwanted baby for 9 months. Its your fault for being poor in a backwards state. Its basically the antithesis of what you expect in a free society, where you want everyone to have similar rights regardless of wealth or position.

This is not an issue like "What should the sales tax be", or "What should the state flower be?", something that makes sense as a state right; it involves control over your body, something that should be the same across the country.

It makes perfect sense....read the US Constitution, namely the Tenth Amendment

Quote

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Do you mean the way it is not the same across other countries, including Canada ?

Judge-- I don't know who he is, but it'll be somebody who passes the Republican senate's strict 4-point litmus test (loves guns, hates abortions, loves Bibles, hates homos). Or, in Republican parlance, "a pro-life conservative who interprets the Constitution as the Founding Fathers intended."   In the Donald vs Hillary thread, BC2004 and Derek2.0 have been steadfastly arguing that abortion rights will continue regardless of the Republican campaign promises on the subject. I'm not 100% convinced.

Special Prosecutor-- Mayor Rudy and Chris Christie have already dropped strong hints that it's not going to happen. Trump will decide that in the name of "healing the divide in this country", he's not going to do it.

Build the wall-- yes.

Crack down on illegal immigrants-- only superficially.  If illegal immigrants were kicked out of the US with the speed and thoroughness that Trump supporters are hoping, it would cause a crisis for agriculture in blue states and red states alike.

Temporary ban on Muslims entering the US:  no. Trump has already watered down his rhetoric here. There might be some talk about halting people from "hot-spots" coming to the US.

Bias and corruption--  I think Trump supporters going to be bitterly disappointed here. Trump already has scandal-plagued swamp-dwellers like Chris Christie on his team, and bribe-recipient Pam Bondi. As well, half of his transition team is members of his own family who are still running Trump businesses... the potential for graft here is absolutely YUGE, and we know from his history that he's not good at saying no to temptation. Whether it be using his "charity" to buy goodies for himself, or using the campaign to buy services from Trump businesses, or "moving on that like a bitch" when it comes to attractive women, he just can't resist. My personal hunch is that we'll be talking about President Pence within a few years, but maybe I'm just too cynical.  However, don't be surprised if the inauguration bash is catered with unsold Trump Steaks and Trump Vodka. (check the best before dates!)

And now that you told us all about Trump, now can we hear from you about all the juicy bad stories that we have all heard and read on goggle and Youtube, please, thank you.

On 60 Minutes last night, Trump already backed away from prosecuting Hillary, building a wall, getting rid of Obamacare, and creating a deportation force. Next they'll say they'll keep Roe v Wade. I wonder if the idiots are realizing they've been conned? Sometimes that takes a while with idiots.

Maybe Trump is just trying to calm down the intolerant thugs and bully losers who have been rioting in the streets for days now. You know the ones who say that they want to save America from Trump, but yet don't mind going out and trying to destroy America and Americans property now that Trump is President. With liberal idiots, nothing ever sinks in with them. To try and reason with a liberal is truly an exercise in futility.

The protestors are peaceful. It is the thugs that Donald Trump hired to infiltrate the protest and cause damage that you are referring to.

He is a politician after all!

Trump said many times at his meetings with the people that he is not a politician. Why would he want to call himself a politician? In today's world, we know that probably 95% of all politicians are pretty much the spreaders of bull crap. They mostly lie and cheat and steal just to stay in power. I guess they all got that way of thinking from their elite globalist banksters who no doubt paid for their rise in the corrupt and rigged world of politics.

So your scenario is: after a historic triple sweep victory, Trump has now unleashed his paid supporters to make Hillary's protesters look bad?

Chug, chug, chug...

Indeed...nobody has to pay supporters to make Hillary's folk look bad, as they are/were happy to voluntarily do this.

The old racist word being thrown around again by that poor little indoctrinated marxist liberal girl. Was Donald Trump ever a member of the KKK? I don't think so. So, the KKK want Trump as President, so does that mean Trump is a racist? I have heard that zionist communist Saul Alinsky who wrote the book "The Road to Revolution" was Hillary's mentor. I guess that makes Hillary a communist, eh?  The fake media always takes words out of Trumps mouth and twists them around to make him appear as though he said something that he did not. A Clinton presidency who is a puppet on a string for Soros would have been a disaster for not only the Republicans but for Democrats also.

The re-writing of history surrounding Senator Robert Byrd is rather remarkable.

I recall him from history lessons as one of THOSE politicians who tried to STOP the Civil Rights Movement. Filibusters against and such. But, lo...now he was a long-standing supporter of Negro Rights in the South. A great American. Friend of Martin Luther King and all children....oh wait...the last bit was Stalin.

Boy, are you ever starting to talk foolish. It was Soros who paid those thugs to demonstrate, and try to make trouble for Trump. Soros along with his zionist bankster buddies stands to lose some of their control over America. They are in panic mode.  Awww.  :D

BC2004 argued that abortion rights will continue but a future Supreme Court ruling could permit limits (viability, funding, doctor choice, etc.).   The right to bear arms is an enumerated right (unlike abortions), but the courts have ruled on the constitutionality of gun limits, of which there are many at the state and federal level.

Hillary liked Byrd very much even though she knew that he was once a supporter of the KKK.
