I have no problem with what Trump said because he said it as it is. Trump tells the truth which liberals would rather skirt around the truth. They would say something politically correct like Haiti has some poverty and economic problems and that is why things are bad in Haiti. That kind of response will never get anything resolved. Their leaders need to be insulted. Maybe by insulting the leaders of Haiti that may be what is needed to get them off their corrupt asses and get them to finally start to do something about that hell hole called Haiti. Haiti received billions of dollars in aid from all over the world after their earthquake. Where the hell did all the money go?

Haitains are not even native to Haiti. The natives are loooooooong gone. When I use Google Earth, the things I note re: shit holes are: litter and graffiti...Haiti has tons of both and nobody bothers cleaning-up...ever. I don't want THAT attitude on my street in my town.

Canada and other counties have always had a threshold below which the applicant is not allowed to enter. That is just common sense. What is nonsensical is the notion that our doors are wide open, come on in and have a free ride. Bringing people in who can only survive on welfare harms the country.

The vast majority of the population lives in the 3rd world. This data (2011) shows about 70% are either poor or low income. 

It's painful to accept that we cannot help everybody. But that notion is not true, there are other ways to help besides bringing them into Canada where they can only become a burden on us that will ultimately be impossible to support. The alternative is to find ways to raise them up within their own nations. Build their own economy which means they need to work hard, and the developed world can provide assistance. World bank and such can hep get their economy running by providing aid and debt relief. But they don't.

It seems they would rather have me donate 85 cents a day... just enough to guarantee a lifetime of misery for them, and their children, and so on and so on.

Deflection!  Isn't it the media who is saying that Trump has called Haitians shitty people?  Go check out any CNN feature - especially AC.  Now, that's "fake news".  Also, there are other Caribean countries that are doing fine and are not "shitholes" - Haiti simply isn't one of them.

Overall point- Despite all the money, people and supplies, and 8 years later Haiti has STILL not rebuilt their country from the earthquake damage. Haitians are lazy. And those that got away into America and now in Canada don't want to go back for that very reason- Haiti is a shithole.
 

I don't think that you are going to get snowflake Omni's vote on that comment. Sometimes these snowflakes just cannot stand to hear the truth. All they can do is put out smiley faces as a reply. 

But besides that I read that the state dept in Washington has issued a statement and warning to Americans telling them not to go to many Mexican cities like Acapulco and Los Cabos among the many mentioned and Haiti also as crime and civil unrest has made some of those places not safe for tourists to visit. Who goes to Haiti anyway for a holiday? Thousands have been murdered in Mexico these past few years because of the Mexican cartels. Sure sounds like shit holes to me to not want to go on vacation alright. It looks like Trump is right again. As Trump said, why isn't America and even Canada for that matter not bringing in more immigrants from Norway or other Western countries rather than hell holes like Mexico and Haiti.

I am pretty sure that there are more new third world immigrants on welfare than working. Some may be productive while others are sucking off the system.

At the time most Irish and others immigrated to North America there was a huge demand for labourers. You didn't have to be able to read or write. You just needed a strong back and a willingness to work. That is simply not the case today. Low-skilled jobs are fading away and are going to fade even more rapidly in the coming years as automation takes over. GM says it will have a self-driving taxi on the roads next year. How long till all the driving jobs are gone?

The workers we need now are knowledge workers, highly skilled in technology and communication. We also need some lower tech people like tradesmen, of course, but even our tradesmen are far, far more technologically advanced than Haitians. There is no point in pretending that people from Haiti, which has a very low literacy rate, where most schools are actually operated by foreign charities, where the UN is basically running the place because the locals can't, and where the technological level is... low, are going to make really good immigrants to Canada compared to the Irish of today. The skin colour is irrelevant to that. The most economically successful immigrants to Canada are Europeans, according to the government itself. That too has nothing to do with skin colour and everything to do with education and skills - not to mention a similar cultural background.

That is right. The real natives(french)were all eventually massacred by the black Haitians that were brought to Haiti many moons ago. If the french had not been massacred I believe that Haiti would be a place that people would want to visit unlike today. Haiti is full of crime and unrest which sadly the liberal MSM refuse to report on. To busy bitching about Trump I guess to report real news. 

People with skills and trades and merit should be who Canada is bringing in as immigrants rather than a bunch of people who the government knows will always be on welfare.

I agree. But since then what have they done with the place since they murdered all of their french masters? Not a bloody thing. If they had some civility about them at the time when they rebelled against their masters and took over they should have then negotiated for their freedoms and try to live equally among their now ex masters. But they did not. They chose instead to kill their masters just like they have and are still doing to the whites in South Africa since apartheid was abolished. They now had the chance to really live in paradise and make Haiti a great country where tourists would be visiting today by the millions every year. The blacks in the Caribbean islands did not rebel and massacre their white masters. They eventually learned to live together in peace. But with the blacks in Haiti they instead just went back to their old African tribal ways of conquer and kill or be killed. Haiti is a shit hole and the rest of the world knows it. All Trump did was point that fact out. Truth and facts always hurt the liberal snowflakes. Obama called Syria a shit hole once. Did the liberal media go ballistic over him saying that? NO.
