Hal 9000 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Wow, people generally are misogynistic, racist liars who con people and call it 'good business'? Trump has threatened nuclear war; he only hasn't done it yet because he hasn't been voted in. Let's just call it what it is: Hillary is a woman and that's about all some people need in order to cast a vote for Trump. What has he done as proof or even evidence that he dislikes women? What has he done that is racist? Is what Trump said even remotely close to as bad as this interaction? Not even close. Reuters: "On the day of a crucial vote in her nomination battle against fellow Democrat Barack Obama, the New York senator said she wanted to make clear to Tehran what she was prepared to do as president in hopes that this warning would deter any Iranian nuclear attack against the Jewish state. "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America." "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said. "That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic," Clinton said. Her comments appeared harder than a week ago, when during a presidential debate she promised "massive retaliation" against any Iranian attack on Israel. Obama rejected Clinton's rhetoric as saber rattling on a day when Pennsylvania Democrats voted in a party primary contest that could help decide which Democrat will face Republican John McCain for the White House in the November general election. "One of the things that we've seen over the last several years is a bunch of talk using words like 'obliterate,'" Obama, an Illinois senator, said in a separate ABC interview. "It doesn't actually produce good results. And so I'm not interested in saber rattling." The Obama campaign also issued a statement saying Clinton was contradicting her remarks at an August debate, where Obama spoke in favor of taking unilateral military action in Pakistan if the United States had actionable intelligence on the whereabouts of senior al Qaeda members. Clinton had said she did not believe "people running for president should engage in hypotheticals" and called it a mistake "to telegraph" what U.S. strategy might be at a time of unrest inside Pakistan. At a Tuesday news conference in the Philadelphia suburb of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Clinton said the question of Iran merited hypothetical discussion because a nuclear Tehran would require straightforward Cold War-style deterrence. "It's a question not of what might be on or off the table," she said. RELATED COVERAGEIran says U.S. pressure could backfire Meanwhile, Obama said he would respond "forcefully and swiftly" to an Iranian attack against Israel or any other U.S. ally, whether conventional or nuclear." Queenmandy85 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) I am curious why President Clinton's girlfriends are an issue. Lincoln had an affair, FDR died in the arms of his mistress, Wilson, Harding, Eisenhower, Kennedy, all had affairs. Probably the only Presidents who did not have affairs were Nixon and Carter. Men like to play around. Like Kissinger said, power is the greatest aphrodisiac. Edited October 2, 2016 by Queenmandy85 A Conservative stands for God, King and Country
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) I am curious why President Clinton's girlfriends are an issue. They are an issue because Governor and President Clinton sexually harassed women, sexually assaulted women, lied about sex with an intern in federal court, and his wife (Hillary Clinton) attacked the victims. This led to the now famous t-shirt slogan, "Hillary sucks, but not like Monica". Edited October 2, 2016 by bush_cheney2004 Economics trumps Virtue.
Queenmandy85 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 But why did anyone care enough to even bring it up? You can bet that all those who were making it an issue had girlfriends or boyfriends on the side. A Conservative stands for God, King and Country
dialamah Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Trump has never started a war or military actions against other nations....Clinton has. Clinton's decisions got Americans killed in Libya. He has said he would wage war. But anyway, it's really stupid to give someone credit for not staring a war, when they're not in a position to start a war. Totally asinine, really. Especially when that person has stated, multiple times, his willingness to wage war. Why do you bother?

SpankyMcFarland Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) Trump's peculiar success points to a deep malaise within America but he is certainly not the cure. It's like getting somebody to operate on you who talks like a surgeon and even has some legitimate criticisms of surgical practice but is not actually a doctor. Politics is complicated - it requires a lot of knowledge and Trump lacks that. Edited October 2, 2016 by SpankyMcFarland

He is grotesquely unfit for the job he seeks. Usually, the US result does not affect us much - they're mostly good guys and gals - but Trump would represent a paradigm shift and not in a good way. Anybody who praises a sickening thug like Putin has to be of concern to the whole world. The Iraq war divided Canada and the US but we got over it. Friends differ on these things. dialamah Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Whom exactly does Trump want to wage war against? He wants to increase the size of the US military, including bringing back the draft. He supported the Iraq war (despite lying about that now). He has said he would put 30,000 soldiers into Iraq and Syria. Threatened to attack Iran. He is willing to use nuclear weapons against Europe or other friendly nations.

bush_cheney2004 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 He is willing to use nuclear weapons against Europe or other friendly nations. Good....that is what they are for. Every nation is a potential target, including Canada. Economics trumps Virtue.

Again, it's asinine to give someone credit for not doing what he had no ability to do. And I agree, Obama's Peace Prize was a joke.
SpankyMcFarland Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 So how well have all the very "experienced" politicians worked out so far for "America" ? Trump's inexperience is a virtue. There are many scenarios far worse for a country than gradual decline. Trump could cause all sorts of catastrophes.

OK on the public discussion of matters pornographic at 3 am, can you see any of those guys being stupid enough to do that in the middle an election campaign? It's pathetically vindictive and immature.
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Again, it's asinine to give someone credit for not doing what he had no ability to do. But when Canada's cross border faves had the power and opportunity, what did they do ? Start another war for America ! Economics trumps Virtue.

So what ? Trump could also realize an isolationist America, then people would bitch that he wasn't aggressive enough on the world stage. The U.S. does not owe the world a damn thing in this regard...good or bad. Do you think Americans care who is elected in Canada, even though "bad things" could happen ? Hal 9000 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Nice of you to point out the two wars that have created the terrorist world we now live in. I can point out the role of GW Bush, but it's sheer naivety to think that he started anything. Bush threw some chips in the pot, but you can go back to Carter and Clinton and get a better sense of why the world is where it is now. And, nobody has served to destabilize the middle east as much as the Obama/Clinton duo.
